I'm at the Denny's at 7140 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33141... This Denny's has got to be one of the worst Denny's I have ever eaten at... the decor is drab and dingy... The food was very bland... I had the country fried steak breakfast w/ sunny side up eggs, hash browns, toast, and coffee. The eggs were overcooked. The hash browns were raw in the middle. The country fried steak was nothing but a glorified breaded hamburger patty. The coffee was very week and cold from the start. However, the wait staff was very helpful and polite. That is in till I was setting and trying to enjoy one last cup of their so called coffee... Then they kept coming to my table and asking if everything was ok... After a while I felt like they where trying to push me out the door... Funny thing was I was already outside at one of their sidewalk tables... I will not be eating here again... We are visiting the area and decided to stop here for a late dinner. Ordered 2 meals to go. 1 burger with a few modifications, one of which being No Bacon for religious reasons. The others less important, but for this review just as important, we asked for them to change the bun to the Cheddar Bun and add avocado. None of these changes happened and we didn't find out until we got home. I understand that business get busy but that doesn't mean you should slack on your job, especially when we are telling you to take your time and put our order in when you have the chance. Decided to stop in for brunch after a long flight from New York. From the beginning the waiter was annoyed that I requested to sit in a booth because it was not his section. After giving me attitude he came back and said he would be our server because the regular server was overloaded. Long story short, our order was messed up, had to ask for hot sauce three times and never received it. Everything on the table was not properly set up with condiments. Overall, bad service. We showed up at 5 am after a red eye flight. The coffee was hot and ready. The server was very friendly. The food was exactly what you would expect. This review is purely based on the quality of the food and not the service as I usually only order for pickup or delivery. I believe that the quality of the food is largely dependent on what time of day you order. The quality is literally day and night depending on if it's day or night. Every time I've ordered in the daytime, the food has been good - hot, fresh, and tastes good. I would give 5 stars for the day time. At night, my orders have always been cold, soggy, and not that great tasting. I would give it 1 star for night time/early morning. I'm not sure if most of the people that go in at 11pm-1am are too drunk (not my experience typically; I'm just a night owl) to really care what their food taste like and as a result there isn't as much effort in making the food. Or the restaurant is working with a skeleton crew and is overwhelmed by the amount of orders that come in at night. I couldn't tell you either way what the reason is as I don't work there. All I can say is if you order at night when you typically order during the day, don't expect the same quality of food. I found this to be the case with most (not all) places open at night/early morning so to their credit, it's not just them. But the last 3 orders I've placed at night did not impress me at all. I've only dined in on a couple of occasions about 2+ years ago and the service was good (as far as I can remember). This is my second time on this restaurant and I was on yelp this time and I read a lot of negative reviews about the service and the place food whatever , I don't understand how this place has only two stars they spect a lest 3 and a half, the server Bernadette M. First of all I asked the waitress for a simple cheese burger and she made the whole order complicated ( like she didn't know what a cheeseburger was). I can't say that the other reviews are untrue, but I've been to this Denny's twice and my experiences haven't been nearly as awful as the others. First off, I'm so over places like Denny's and IHOP. They're overrated for the most part, and you shouldn't come here expecting a delectable breakfast. If you want something fancy and interesting, go to another small restaurant. Parking is always easy to find (they have a lot in the back). If you take public transportation, there are stops nearby. Both times that I've been here we've been seated almost immediately. Here's a pro tip: if you see the workers chatting amongst themselves, say something like, "Hi, how are you today? We're a table of X. Can we just sit anywhere?". Saying nothing isn't going to get you anywhere but neither is acting like a jerk. Another pro tip: you're, for the most part, not allowed to bring animals into any dining establishment (including supermarkets). Service dogs are an exception (I believe) and you can get away with it if there is an outdoor seating area (which isn't the case here). For both dining experiences, our waitresses were kind and pretty attentive. Could they have been better? Sure! But I also didn't go in expecting 5-star customer service. My food was fine both times! I ordered your standard breakfast (eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes). Could it have been better? Of course! But it's Denny's! If you want super fluffy pancakes and fresh sausage/bacon, run to the store and make them yourself. Other than that, my orders have always been correct, and I've never received anything that was stale/old. Price is good. Almost the same as IHOP. If you want something better, don't go to IHOP, go to a small business/restaurant in the area. Also, I've never had a problem with other unruly customers. Always average noise/occupancy. read more

Plus, how wrong can you go with breakfast foods? If you're willing to *brave it out and risk it--- it being your life* for some breakfast food here in midtown just know you shouldn't expect much, but it gets the job done. Sticky------ sticky! sticky! sticky! Bottom line, you're going to get sticky. Whether you walk through the doors and your flip flops stick to the floor --ok this hasn't happened yet lol--but just wait till you grab the ketchup bottle... The key is, stick with what's safe (no sticky pun intended); safe being breakfast foods: hashbrowns, eggs, pancakes, or a sandwich containing all of those. Ya, your hashbrowns might be burnt because the chef was busy chatting or your eggs are drenched in oil....but remember, it's Denny's and you're paying approximately $2. The service is kind of slow. It's 3:40am; the servers probably don't want to be there; they want to be sleeping just like you should be but because of people like me they're forced to be there at these odd morning hours. When it comes to dessert, once again stick with what is safe: ice cream. Shakes: vanilla is voted the best of the three flavors. Rootbeer floats are great too. Please don't order those slices of pie/cake in the glass case, it's going to be a disaster in your mouth. The shakes and floats are what keeps me going back. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night it does tend to get packed (10-15 minute wait) because like I said earlier, Denny's is the only place open. A couple of years back, I think Denny's was the New Times Readers' Choice for best breakfast in Miami. HoRRoRs!! Either that says terrible things about breakfast places in Miami or it says terrible things about the Miami population. Honestly. Breakfast can be so much more. Buckwheat pancakes topped with pumpkin infused syrup. Breakfast burritos with mashed sweet potatoes and refried beans. I mean whatever your taste, how can the run-of-the-mill, uninspired, cooked by underpaid cooks that barely want to be there food be the BEST?? And if the menu weren't blech enough, more than half the time, there's something not quite right. The eggs are too runny. The eggs are too dry. The ham tastes funny. The potatoes are overdone. The pancakes are doughy. But you don't complain... because it's freakin' Denny's. What do you expect? But you don't vote it the best and you don't compare it favorably to real restaurants. To be fair, I'm not going to write a poor review of Denny's just because it's bland and a crime against all self respecting restaurateurs and diners. If I could give 0 stars I would. This location sucks. The server we got didn't even greet us and rushed us to order. She didn't greet us but she was greeting tables next to us. She was just rushing and didn't care about what we wanted. We had to grab the creamers from another table because she didn't bring any with the coffee and the sugar container was full of empty packets and only a couple that were not used and she told us to use those and didn't bring anymore.
