Came here for the first time today (Johnston location, I've been to other Denny's obviously) because of the Beetlejuice afterlife menu. I'm a huge BJ fan so I was super excited for the food and the cool paper it "came with" Placed my order online and had good first impressions when I went in. April was the biggest sweetheart and my food was done in decent time. Everything went down hill when I got home after(20 minute drive) to unbox everything and was given the wrong order. Wrong as in it was someone else's. I called to get a refund, basically got the run around that they couldn't do it and I had to contact corporate which made no sense. Then I was told to bring back the food I was given and they would remake my order. This was strange to me but we were hungry and like f* it Get back there and the "manager" who really wasn't the manager was hardly apologetic and was making me feel like I was the one who caused the issue! Y'all gave me the wrong bag! Long story short the order was remade and was done wrong. No Beetlejuice paper, no sauce on the beetlejuicy burger..it was also missing tomato and onion that came standard on it. My Afterlife melt was missing a few mozzarella sticks and the marinara sauce. Such a shame how wrong it all went. The actual manager called me later and issued me a full refund but at the end of the day I just wanted it to have been correct the first time and I would have been a return customer.

Stopped here twice in the last two weeks after two different concerts. The late night crew is great. Friendly as can be on the wee hours of the morning. Food was great. Place is know for breakfast but try the burgers their sooooo goooood.

Daughter and grand daughter enjoyed their banana slams and I enjoyed my cheese omelet and biscuit. Waitress was attentive, food was good. The place seemed nice and clean. I would return in an instant. The Denny's biscuits seem pretty good, not salty or baking powder-ey.

This was one of the best experiences we've ever had any Denny's! The server and cook, which was also the manager we're was amazing. Our food came out hot and fresh in a reasonable amount of time. We were seated right away server was very friendly, even though it was like late in the evening. It was not very busy there, which was nice. I got the chicken bacon ranch melt and it was superb. The cheese was melted just perfectly the sandwich was nice and hot and fresh. The other half also had no complaints. Thought it was good. We also got the double chocolate pancake bites, which was something new, but it has like melted fudge chips inside that was also hot and frosting is the right temperature. Told him we will be coming back. Definitely said that location of Johnston soon.

    Out to lunch!

Jade and I haven't been to this Denny's in over a year and the moment we walked in April saw us she recognized us and called us both by name! She stayed a little late just so she could be our waitress AND she remembered exactly what we ordered last times we were here!! If that's not an A++ waitress then I don't know what is?!? Seriously, we all know what Dennys is and what the food is and its good, but those little personal touches mean SO much to people that I wish more places & servers would take a que from April and the Dennys staff! Thank you Dennys and more so thank you April!! You're more than a great waitress, you're a great person!! Hopefully we will be back sooner rather than later!!

They have specials almost every day & on Thursday, it is buy a pizza & get one 50% off, $5 red or white sangria. So that's what we did! Hubby was in the mood for an appetizer & he selected the calamari alla mama with sauteed garlic, tomatoes, hot peppers over a bed of arugula & a side of marinara. I didn't love the calamari rings so I had several & let him go to town on the dish. He very much enjoyed all the garlic & hot peppers, especially with it dousing the arugula underneath. He literally ate every bite! Hubby wanted a meat pizza so he selected the classic cheese with the pepperoni add-on. I opted for the prosciutto & arugula. Both were delicious! The crust was super thin & crispy, the toppings went all the way to the edge. If I was going to nitpick, it would only be to say that we love our pepperoni with a little char & some cupping action. Hubby opted for a Peroni & I went with the red sangria (no ice). Both were delightful! We had a rotating cast of servers & all of them were lovely. The bar was pretty empty when we got there around 5:15pm but when we left, every seat was taken. Very nice evening out!

I've seen on social media that people complained about the new location having mainly street parking - we both found parking easily on the street - quit yer b*tchin' people lol. Besides I believe they have a lot behind the restaurant that we didn't have to use but it's there if needed. We were the only ones there when we first walked in but more patrons came in as the night went on. Made our way to the bar and orders were flowing - one warning if you're sitting at the bar, it is an open kitchen so there will be alot of aromas flowing through and may get on your clothes but really it'll just remind you of how good the food was. Also, the barstools are not the most comfy - metal stools with no backing so after 2.5 hours, we were feeling a bit achy. We ordered way more than we should've but everything just looked so good! We got the croquettes (our absolute fave), the cauliflower, the pizza du jour (I think it had spinach, pepperoni, ricotta and garlic) and for entrees we got the fish tacos and the Orecchiette. Not one complaint - everything was divine. Croquettes were melty, smoky little nuggets of heaven and our favorites bites of the night. The pizza had a great balance of flavors and the crust was thin and crispy. We were so full but had a few bites of the fish tacos and pasta - the fish was cooked to perfection and the aioli it came with topped it perfectly. Pasta was different - had a scallion cream sauce that was a nice change up from your typical Alfredo. Don't sleep on this place - the street is busy being on a main road but so well worth the visit, I didn't catch our bartender's name but he and a few other servers were super personable and friendly - gave us just enough time in between meals and personal space to not hover. Absolutely will return!

Also, a huge outdoor seating area, under a tent runs along one side of this parking area. So they have lots of room to enjoy a summer evening outside. We arrived late afternoon between meal times. The bar was full except for two seats. Other than the bar, the tables and booths in this area were empty (the other bar was not staffed at this hour). We like sitting at the bar and talking with the regulars. We learn so much about the area this way. Even in our own state! The majority of our bar-mates and the bartender were very friendly and we had some lively conversations. The building itself is old and much of the original dark wood remains along with a big fireplace. The ladies room is right at the end of the bar, is small and older and everything works. Full bar, beer on tap or in cans and wine. They have a nice bar-food menu. I chose sweet potato fries as my side while my dining companion chose regular fries. Both were good, as were our sandwiches (au jus and Big bird) Good quality and tasty. The booths began to fill as we were leaving and the barkeep was also their waitress, so she has a big area to cover. The regulars are very well known to each other and the staff so if you sit at the bar you may feel like the 'odd man out'. We enjoyed our visit and plan to return to try some of their other food offerings.

It has almost a cult-like following after reading the reviews. In my experience, everything I have ordered was okay ... but nothing incredibly amazing vs. the price. I have not seen higher menu prices outside of Manhattan. Two sandwiches and one beer came to $78 after the tip. You read that correctly ... a burger with fries, a pulled pork sandwich with side salad and the cheapest draft beer on the menu ... $78!!! The wings/tenders were over $20 ... in fact, other than the side upgrades, nothing on the menu was under $20. If you are charging $25 for a 'diner burger' and fries, it better be an amazing burger. Mine was no better than Five Guys and less tasty than a Shake Shack. Given the prices, one wouldn't expect that you'd get potato chips with your burger. In order to get French fries ... it's a $5 upcharge. A side salad is $9. I don't mind paying more for quality ... and Blackie's quality is probably high as their meats, vegetables, potatoes, etc. all list the origin place. However high the quality is, for me anyways, the food doesn't seem much different taste-wise, than anywhere else that is much less expensive. Having said that, the portions are huge. The nachos look like they are meant for an entire table and everything is served on metal cafeteria-style trays. Good for them though because the place is huge and always packed. The crowd here is very typical 'Rhode Island'. Expect to see a lot of anchor tattoos, lifted Jeeps with no doors in the parking lot, young 20 - 40 year old crowd who probably played high school football or baseball back in the day and still enjoy telling stories about it. There are no shortage of cross-fitters here. There is a nice buzz of conversation and energy ... but this is not the place you want to go if you don't like crowds. Inside is weird. The walls are painted black and the chairs/tables look like something in a boutique hotel. It looks a little more like a corporate hotel lobby or wedding function hall vs. a restaurant ... especially given the typical crowd. This is not the sports bar it appears to be on the outside. Overall, my 3-stars may seem harsh. But that's an average score ... and honestly, my food has always been average. Maybe I need to try the pizza. If you have deep pockets and like huge portions, you probably won't be disappointed in this place. The service is great, although 2 people working a packed bar, you will wait a bit if you need anything. Also, I came to watch the big game and for some reason they hung pendant lights which dangle down from around the bar. While they make everyone look better, the TVs are blocked by the lights. Very odd.

Luckily, there was a perfect corner of the bar had just opened & we grabbed the seats. The atmosphere was convivial, upbeat & super comfortable, despite the crowd. Service was fabulously friendly & competent - the bartender handling the packed house with ease. We decided to go with an array of small plates to try as much as possible. The menu it designed perfectly for grazing & the prices are super reasonable! The selections are definitely on the comfort-food side with a strong southern hint. Ingredients are often locally sourced - something I greatly admire. We began with the a small plate of Pimento Cheese Toast. Just a few bites each but a nice start. Duck Drumettes. The horseradish-y white sauce was delectable! Even my non-duck loving partner was blown away. I was happy to hear that the salad was available in a half portion - enough for a light fresh break to our heavy selections. Next came a much heavier choice - the gravy fries with duck confit. We left off the cheese, but it wasn't missed at all. These were decadent, delicious & super filling! Next time we'd get a half portion - that would have been plenty! Our final dish was the Shrimp & Grits, but we'd already filled up on the other dishes & ended up asking for this to go. Even reheated, it was a perfectly delicious accompaniment to our brunch the next day! I'd be tempted to order this to-go again for just that purpose. While we didn't imbibe, the cocktail list looked wonderful & the bar was very well stocked. We did enjoy a nice selection from the interesting beer list. The sandwiches that we saw come out looked delicious & huge! We'd love to try them as well. We will be back - this is certainly a new favorite for us!
