It is illegal in the state of Texas to allow a dog inside a restaurant unless it is a service dog. However at this location we observed not only a dog inside but actually sitting in a booth at the table and being fed food from said table. This dog was obviously not a service dog and totally detracted from having a nice meal. I'm considering notifying the local health department about this violation. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: it's the kind of place where you avoid thinking about what happens behind the scenes, and you don't look around because it isn't that clean. I would return if necessary, but I would plan for other options first. Most Denny's restaurants have been modernized with improvements in the facilities, but this one seems to have been left behind. The inside has new signs but dim lighting and old seats. The food was as expected at a restaurant attached to a truck stop facility. If you are hungry, it serves its purpose, but don't expect to be blown away or left feeling satisfied. Friendly enough staff, but not entirely attentive. I paid $16.31 for a turkey sandwich, onion rings, and coffee. On this particular day they were short staffed and started turning customers away at 3:30 PM. read more

Well what can you really say about any Denny's that most people don't know already. The establishment is actually pretty well kept up even though it's connected to a truck stop. The food is about what you expect. Some days it's pretty well cooked and flavored and some days it's not. The one thing I do love about Denny's is their willingness to cater to the children and sometimes make things that really aren't considered an entree. I mean like making all veggies for a meal, or combine different things to make a meal. I have some picky grandkids and they love to go there and get what they want and it's actually done for them. It's never really busy so finding a quick place to go grab a bite, Dennys is it. It's quiet and you don't have to yell to speak to each other or the staff. read more

Came in with my family just to stop somewhere quick to eat, had to seat ourselves since no one wanted to help us. They gave us bottled water because they have no ice.. as they are located next to a mini gas station market with an ice machine next to them. Then they don't even have half of the things available on the menu, I tried to get chicken tenders and they didn't even have any. Our waitress did not get our orders right at all, she seemed very forgetful considering she has a pen and paper. Worst denny's i've been to. read more

Strawberry pancake puppies...my choice of dessert this time for my road trip break. Fresh, warm, with a delicious cream cheese dip. I'm living the dream, kids! I was seated right away and was waited on by the beautiful Zyren, who made this stop such a treat. The cook let me know personally he had to mix a fresh batch together so the wait will be longer than expected...you're the best! I don't know why but when I first moved into the area this Denny's had a bad rap. In my opinion though I've found nothing wrong with. The food is always hot and the drinks are on point. There is good reason for all the one star reviews. I should have paid attention but let my hunger get the best of me. The service was good, the food was questionable. I ordered the turkey dinner. It was prepared very quickly, perhaps too quickly. It appeared to have been sitting under a warming light for an extended period of time. The turkey was dry and unappetizing to look at. Nothing like the promotional picture on the menu. The potatoes were ok, but it's very hard to screw up mashed potatoes. The mixed veggies looked like yesterdays leftovers. The picture on the menu showed cranberry sauce but did not come with the meal. I really don't know where these 5 star ratings come from but I suspect they are not real. There were only a few people in the dining area which says a lot about the place. Denny's has really fallen to the bottom of it's game. Many years ago it was my go to place for a good meal. I'll not return, at least not to this one. There are a few that are managed well and have good cooks but, sadly, this is not one of them. read more

Stopped in on a really important day. Yes, my birthday. And this is where Denny's never fails - - you get a free Grand Slam breakfast on your birthday. Awww yeah, why not stop in and treat yourself to some nice breakfast? That's what I did on my way up to work this morning, and I have to say this was a really good straight-forward experience. This location is connected to a gas station / shop so keep in mind they share the bathrooms, which were okay, but don't blame Denny's if it's mediocre - - plenty of blame to go around here. The service was very good and accommodating, the waitress was very busy and I think she was by herself at 7:45am yet still making sure she got to everyone. The General Manager / Manager here was nice, I think she's relatively new, said she's on a mission to get this place going good and she stepped in to help out. The place was clean, the bar stools were in good condition - where I've seen most Denny's are run-down or old, the counters were very clean, floors too. For here the birthday rules were you get their standard Grand Slam (instead of others where you get to pick 4 items from breakfast ala carte) which comes with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage links, 2 pancakes. No substitutes - - but it's free so no reason to complain. The coffee was very good here BTW. The food came out in a timely manner, I have to say I've been going to Denny's off and on since the late 80's and they always do breakfast right. The only issue is I can never find a cook who can make perfect "eggs over medium". They're often too runny, it's like the cook is too afraid to make a longer commitment and ends up ditching too early. Pancakes here were fluffy and fresh, no complaints here, I would definitely come back to this location - - maybe sooner than the 365 days already planned. read more

Stopped in on a hurricane evacuation trek to Dallas. Order was taken pretty quickly. Bathroom was really disgusting. Smelled really bad, floor soaked with urine, and really needed to be power washed from floor to ceiling. It is connected to a truck stop so may be it was their bathroom? Ordered the steak skillet and a side of pancakes. Took a reasonable amount of time for our food to arrive. Our waitress seemed like she did not want to be at work today, bored and non-interactive. I ordered crepes tonight & after 30 minutes and all the other food coming out I was told by our poor waitress "the cook isn't up to making crepes right now". My husband & I laughed because I don't think either of us knew what to say. We then had to ask them to take the crepes off the check (cause we never got them) and my husband watched the cook throw a fit when the waitress asked to have them taken off. Weird. I'm glad my back was to the kitchen at this point. My husband got the salmon & I'm pretty sure he has food poisoning. It looked and smelled gross to me. Anyways, pretty funny experience and definitely won't be coming back. I am still sad about the crepes :( read more

Just arrived on a Friday night to get my to go order, there was one waiter, one bus boy, apparently all he can do, and a cook, who stood at the register with server for almost 10 mins reading him some lost the server was entering, only 4 tables end 3 people in front of me! Managed to "complain" to get the order I pre-paid for and leave only to find the mushrooms that I paid extra for were not even cooked! What the heck?! The poor staff here. This place is woefully understaffed and the quality definitely suffers for it. If you're on the road and need a quick bite, I'd keep on going. You'll get better food further north or south, but this Denny's isn't it. read more

I used to enjoy going here until one day the manager ran up on me and grabbed me for attempting to pick up my food at the customer-facing pickup table instead of waiting in long line of customers waiting to be seated. He checked my ID and continued to yell at me after I asked to speak to a supervisor. After making a complaint to the corporate office, he emailed me directly and accused me of "harassing him." Unbelievably unacceptable way to treat a customer, and a failure by both the franchisee and franchiser in handling a situation like this. Avoid this establishment until management changes. read more

I ordered the full size Spicy Nachos. Hubby enjoyed the appetizer combo. I was very disappointed with my Spicy Nachos as there were gnats/fruit flies landing on my nachos. I called the waiter (Babette) over and informed her of the situation with the gnats/fruit flies; she took my plate and brought back a bill charging for a half order of nachos. I asked the waiter "Why was she charging me for half order as I didn't get to eat half of the nachos before the bugs started landing on them?" Bottom Line: I spoke with the manager who corrected the bill; we paid the bill and that's that! read more

Hands down the best Dennys experience I've ever had! The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and you could see everyone working together. Friendly wait staff, clean and quiet ambience. They have REALLY 'upped' their menu with all SORTS of new items. Such as their separate four page menu of just bacon food items such as the Carmel bacon French toast, bacon and Carmel milkshake and sundae and their many many other items and drinks. This item also exclusively offers alcohol 'round clock. Give it a shot! If I could give a negative rating I most absolutely would. I was giving the place the benefit of the doubt considering the place looks old and dingy because it hasn't been remodeled probably since it first opened. The waitresses were nice. They weren't the issue at all. The problem was the cooks in the back not wearing gloves nor hair nets when handling and cooking the food. I addressed it and asked the waitress if the cooks are required to wear glove while handling the food and they said yes they are suppose to and to see the manager walking around smiling laughing with his employees but not enforcing the policy for the cooks to wear gloves or hair nets was all I needed to see. I politely gathered my belongings and told them to cancel my order. Idk about anyone else but if Subway, IHop, First Watch, or any other restaurants are required to wear gloves while cooking what makes Dennys excluded? Or you though people may not notice? Then the cooks had nerve to look out at me like they mad at ME because they aren't doing what they are suppose to. I don't know if you all washed your hands properly before handling the food or if it's cross contaminated. I don't know if you have transferred germs from the fridge handle to my food. I don't know if you been in the back scratching yourself before touching the food!!!!THATS NASTY!!!! It's hit and miss with this location. Right now a frustrating MISS. Trying to order online only to be denied with an error message. Called about this before and was told the system was purposely turned off. Could you guys I don't know maybe NOT turn it off? I enjoy the hassle free online ordering feature everyone else is using.
