I live here in Jarrell and have been to this Denny's a couple times. They do not know how to cook eggs. You can ask for them medium and you get them cooked rockhard, might as well ask for a hard boiled egg. The service is slow and the food is not that good. I went there alone and sat at the bar area for breakfast. And I heard two of the servers talking bad about their customers. For those two reasons I will never go back there. It's too bad because there are not very many places to eat here but I would rather go someplace that is more welcoming then a place that talks bad about there customers. read more

So my husband and I decided to eat here after a very long day. We were greeted by Jacob who informed us that they were busy and it might be a bit. We were seated fairly quick and he took our drink order. After a few minutes Jacob came back and took our food order. I got the Parmesan chicken skillet and my husband got the southwest skillet. Now I've generally only gone to Denny's at about two in the morning after being out all night. We expected okay food. Boy were we surprised !!! The chicken and rice were cooked perfectly. The brussel sprouts were nice and crunchy. Jacob and the manager were feverishly waiting tables, bussing tables and serving food. Tonight we went into Dennys me and 4 other people and a 3 year old. And they said we don't serve more than parties of 5! Her name was Devin...and she said she would not serve us or allow us to be seated due to us having more than 5 people even though one of them was 3 years old. It was outrageous. We went for a late breakfast early lunch today. We were greeted with a smile by Ricardo and seated quickly. He took our order and even made some suggestions, answered all our questions and was pleasant. During our visit he was attentive, keeping our drinks filled and asking if we needed anything. While we waited for our order I could see Ricardo staying busy, refilling bottles, wiping tables. He is an amazing waiter, too many times wait staff seem to be bothered by you, but that was not the case here. It was a pleasure to have been taken care of by Ricardo, and we will be back! read more

One of the best Denny's we've been too. We dined in for Veterans Day and we were promptly seated .This place was really busy & they have regulars. . I have eaten at a lot of different Denny's locations in my life and the experiences have ranged from poor to excellent. I moved to the Salado/Jarrell area a couple years ago and have now eaten at the Jarrell location several times and can honestly say that not once have I ever left disappointed in the food or the service. Most times that I have been there I have been served by Andrew S. Every single time my family and I have been there he has greeted and seated us right away, comes out to the table to check on us several times throughout the meal, and is always extremely friendly and pleasant. You can tell that he truly cares that you enjoy your time when you stop in, which as we all know is not always the case with servers. It can be a difficult job at times and it definitely takes a lot of patience. My family and I will continue to come back because of the people like Andrew who work so hard to make sure our experience is always so enjoyable! read more

If I could give this restaurant less then one star I would. The staff tonight were completely blind as to how to serve a guest. They had 2 servers and 2 cooks. Both servers working in circles. By far the worse Denny's I've been to. Dirty tables, kids in the kitchen area(with long hair and not pulled back). Food: potatoes were way over cooked, very hard. Over charged for the child's meal. Bathrooms were disgusting. The bathrooms are shared between the truck stop and Denny's. Not sure whose responsible, but if I worked at either place, I'd make sure they were clean. Wish I could take this one star away. I live just behind this dennys and been there at least five times . I am willing to give a place three tries but this place takes the cake .. the place is nice and clean and you are welcomed with a friendly face and smile but once seated you are lost in the land of the lost . I have sat after my order was taken an hour and a half just to find out the order was never placed or was lost . Other time s when we finally got our orders it was cold or not what we ordered .it's a shame I like dennys and their food but this place needs to shut down or find people that can handle the business . This is our favorite stop coming home from Austin. We always look forward to Andrew to be there, he's about the best server there is. First he's focused, professional and friendly. I am a former server, server trainer,and manager and he is at the top of his game no matter what late time we come in. We have seen him handle a full house without stressing and keeps his cool when we have witnessed unruly bar crowds acting up. Always with a smile, I would also like to add he keeps the place sparkling clean,he has always impressed me and I should have left a comment before now. We stopped in early on Sunday morning when driving back from Austin going home to the Dallas area. I ordered pancakes which were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. We left and almost 100 miles later I realized i had left my Iphone at the restaurant. I called and to my relief my phone was there. The assistant manager, J. Hill was amicable and said he would keep it safe in the office until I could mail a postage paid box for them to mail it to me. It arrived safely back to me Mr. Hill even contributed bubble wrap around it to make sure the fragile phone arrived without breakage. My Horrible experience started when I went into Dennys on 2/20/21 at 10 am and was immediately yelled at by someone i did not recognize behind the cash register for not having a mask, I am a regular person there and know and recognize all the waitresses but the man yelling at me to have a mask didn't have a mask on either, i tried to explain that I had asthma and could not wear one he would not listen, there were at least 50 people not wearing masks in the place and while the man who now claimed to be the GM i said again i have asthma he then yelled " let me see you Dr. records", finally a waitress that knew me and i knew her came and i said i dont know who he is but nobody is wearing a mask can i please just sit down so he will stop yelling at me and have a meal, this was after the polar freeze and i had been without water and power for 6 days and had run out of food and the stores were empty, this manager told the waitress not to seat me and told me to leave! This man should not be a manager and should not treat people in this manner ever! I will NEVER eat there again! read more

Never had a problem with the food but sometimes the service can REALLY be a bit slow, our last few times we just called in & picked up our food, and had to stand up there and wait.....and wait. So whether you call it in, or eat in, there's a 50% chance you will not get fast service. Went here with my family and I was served soapy/bleachy tasting water -just plain water. Yeah.. I seem to get this a lot. Anyways, my waiter quickly offered a free soda and I asked for A&W, he tried it himself and it also tasted odd to him so he again asked me if there was something else, I got a Dr. Pepper and it was perfectly fine. I ordered the breakfast burger but replaced the pepper jack with Gouda and it was wonderful, nothing was wrong and it was very filling. My boyfriend and I have eaten at this Denny's before, and I'll say previously we've received excellent service- hence the second star, but from a completely different set of staff. Tonight, however, there was a thick and disgusting feeling of discrimination in the air. My boyfriend felt uncomfortable even finishing his meal because of the looks he was receiving by staff and the way he was treated before and after I arrived at the table. This Dennys is alright by dennys standards. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere and the people there were nice, But when i got my water it was dirty! And I dont mean just a spot of gunk but I mean it was all over, On the bottom,sides,And even on the inside, I had to switch with my friend so I could drink some water but atleast that was clean. When my Pancakes,Bacon, And milkshake came I immediately tried the bacon which was pretty good for bacon, I then tried the oreo milkshake and that was delicous and made very well. Then i tried my pancakes and they were really good pancakes, Not oh my gosh delicous or anything but still pretty good. They managed to get our food out pretty fast even though they were very busy then which was a pretty good thing for me. Overall this place is alright if they fix up some of the aspects here I think it can be a pretty good place to eat. Though with the gunk on the water I dont think I'll be coming back for a while read more

Everything was fine I guess but there's an up- charge for "seasoned" fries compared to regular ones and in my opinion that is stupid.

Late review, but necessary. If my family and I go to Denny's we always go to the one in Jarrell as it is a little closer than the one in round rock. I will say I have never had a TERRIBLE experience here, but never a GREAT experience either. Every time we go, they are always out of something we order, wait staff is either wonderful or terrible. One waitress was so rude to us one time that I had to get up and slam my plate back on the bar after she angrily slammed it down on our table..needless to say I got an apology. Quick seating, but it always takes forever to get our food. They need to hire more servers, seems either there is never enough or there are only servers working that can handle a few tables at a time. Food is always good, and thank goodness the restrooms have been renovated. The previous restrooms were terrible and never clean! I give it a 3-star rating, only because it has OK service, and warm food when they do have it in stock. read more

Sorry to report I am dropping Denny's in Jarrell to a 1 Star review. That is generous. They deserve a ZERO star review. Celebrating tonight with Mom and my boys. Early Mother's Day. Boys order the usual ~ salmon, peanut butter pancakes. Mom orders nachos, I get soup and salad. Yet again, as my food is about to come out, the waitress comes to say they are out of the soup I ordered. They have some frozen, but that will take a while. I said, you know this place is just wrong and slow and pathetic. I order chicken cranberry salad. Their food comes and eventually she has to come back to say they do not have the spring salad mix, can she use iceberg lettuce. She hesitates to come tell me because she thinks I'll be mad. I said I know it's not your fault. This is really crapy. Unorganized. Just she++Y. #@%!! Salad comes. Ordered ranch with other salad. This one needs raspberry vinegarette. She brings me oil and vinegar, sets it down as she's still walking and says this is what we have. Nope. Can't do it. Pour on the ranch. Still good but needed the correct salad to taste superb. Now I realize it is not the waitress' fault. THE MANAGEMENT AND MANAGER SUCK! I am trying to be polite. You are unorganized, unprepared, understaffed. Overall FAIL! BIG. FAT. FAIL.
