This place is trash, they're the most disrespectful group of employees. There were barely any customers in here and the workers were talking to each other as I waited 5 minutes to be seen. Showed up here at 10:40 PM to an empty restaurant and the guy (possibly the manager) told me it was closed, and they weren't making any food for anymore customers. He didn't even approach me, he just stayed in the back area of the restaurant and had all 3 customers in there looking at me as he yelled across the restaurant at me. I'll mention, the employees outnumbered the customers. This was a place I went to several other times, and I even called ahead of time. I couldn't even order anything to go, there was also no reason for the supervisor to be here because he clearly has no job to do. His job can be replaced with a "closed" sign in the front while he talks to his employees and makes stupid jokes while on the clock. I didn't care if the place was filthy or not, they didn't serve me. I wanted to order something to go, knowing the place would close in 20 minutes. I wanted to complain about how much the food sucks (with a 3 star update review), but I couldn't even do that because the manager was busy jacking off with his buddies in the damn restaurant to do his job. I can't think of actual customers who would enjoy being turned away when you showed up here knowing it was open (I called at 10:25 PM and drove here) and the lame workers told you it was closed. Stayed at the hotel next door and had breakfast here all 3 days! The staff was incredibly friendly and very attentive. They made sure to ask quite often if I needed anything and made sure to replenish my water frequently. I felt they took sanitation procedures very seriously regarding covid. The bathrooms were very clean. The place had a feel good vibe. It was hard to remember I was at a Denny's. The food came out perfect everytime. The chocolate shake was esthetically pleasing to the eye and scrumptious! I enjoy comparing shakes and if I'd have to compare quality of ice cream shake. I would say that Carl's juniors chocolate shake ranks highly for fast food, while mc Donald's and Burger King are on the more low quality. Burger Parlor shakes are of much higher quality as is The Habit. Denny's is definitely on the list of good shakes. Denny's shakes are a delicious treat in the heat. There's always an after party after the party...that makes sense. Trust me. Even if that after party after the party is at Denny's because all the talk about religion, Yelp events, phony friends, alcohol, Disneyland during our car ride back from the after party left us hungry and at midnight this is about the only place you can go to close to home so here we were... This diner looks awesome. It looks nothing like the normal Denny's establishments. It's super clean inside. The staff is attentive and awesome but the food is just blah late night Denny's food even though they've revamped the menu to look like you're going to get 5 star food. It's all very convincing but it's really just a farce. I got coffee and then I was just wired and on a caffeine high. Our conversation then led to iPads, iPhones, what I think about world, the best way to reheat pancakes, and other important life details. As for the food - I couldn't decide between breakfast or dinner. I went with breakfast. I love breakfast. It's my all time favorite. Except Denny's just isn't great breakfast. The bacon was soggy or too crispy and hard. My burrito was burnt at the bottom. :( This diner is really cool though. I have become a fan of Steak Skewer & Eggs* Skillet; grilled steak with bell peppers and onions, mushrooms and potatoes and two sunny side up eggs. I ask for the eggs medium. Not too runny. Side of tortillas, order the flour, the corn are usually too soft and get cold and hard. Ask for salsa on the side, instead of the hot sauce. If you are eating healthy, this is a good option. I'm used to Denny's being a bummy spot and not having the quality as actual diners or brunch spots but this specific Denny's was below par compared to other ones. The customer service was decent. We noticed our table hadn't been wiped down and it was addressed quickly. However when it was wiped down, hardly anything was actually being wiped. Our seats were sticky, the floor was sticky. Actually, almost everything you touched in here felt sticky. Even the salt and pepper shakers. This place is filthy. Now let's talk about the food. Everything seemed salty for some reason. The pot roast we had was bland despite its appetizing appearance. Portion sizes in the breakfast items are a lot smaller and less than other Denny's: less fries. However, my hash browns was barely cooked. Everything else we ordered seemed fine. I cannot recommend this Denny's however. They have outside seating, which is very nice, but they did not ask us if we wanted to seat outside or inside. I did not care much where we were going to seat, but it would have been nice to ask since I would maybe have preferred outside. If I ran a restaurant, this is the place I would take my staff to show them how it's done. The short order cooks deserve much praise as well, because the hash browns are a perfect golden brown, the eggs aren't overcooked (which is too easy to do), and it never matters how many people are here, they can handle it!
