My wife and I ate her recently and had a really good breakfast. She had the egg white breakfast and I enjoyed one of the slams. The food was cooked well and the service was really good. We don't eat at Denny's often, but we will definitely try to visit more. read more

The hostess AMY with the red, boxed hair dye was EXTREMELY rude! We were waiting at the podium to be seated (like the sign asks) and she uses her index finger to "come here" from the kitchen with the ugliest face and low energy she mumbles "sit wherever you want", drops off menus and leaves. Couldn't be more rude! She seems dreadful to work with and even more dreadful to be serviced by. Keep in mind, it's not busy -there are about 6 people in the restaurant TOTAL. Left such a bad taste in our mouths we will not be returning. read more

Since this place opened late, we decided to just eat here. The service was ok. The food could've been better. I was expecting a poached egg, but they fried it instead? We had chicken tenders that looked over cooked. And the Mozzerella burger, the mozerella was missing in the mozzerella sticks? Guess they cooked it too long. And we were done when they were pretty much closed. And I don't like staying any later after a place close either. So as we were getting ready to pay and leave. They were rushing us saying they were closed. Not sure if that was necessary since we were getting ready to leave. But maybe we weren't moving fast enough? read more

Me and my husband were in the area for a Volleyball Tournament and wanted something quick before our 1 1/2 drive to Menifee, CA. Well needless to say our meals didn't disappoint. I went there to try to get a milkshake for my son after bragging to him about how I used to get the shake with the silver cup and everything and it was made with real ice cream back in the day, and I walked in, they completely ignored us. Well, as a background, I don't normally give five star reviews, unless everything is incredibly impeccable, and so it would be odd for me to give a five star rating to a Michelin restaurant and also for Denny's. It's not to say that the service at this location has always been good, but Javier really made me laugh and smile and make me and other customers really feel welcomed!! Food was standard Denny's. But the people who work here are so nice and beyond that they are kind. In my short time in the restaurant I observed a couple of episodes that just showed their humanity. I was taken completely by surprise when they refused to provide me the AARP discount at this particular location. My feeling is that the whole point of a national chain is that you go in there knowing what to expect. I have eaten at numerous different Denny's locations over the years, and the menu has basically been very uniform and consistent throughout the chain. As it turns out this particular location does not accept any coupons, discounts or special offerings. There is no sign posted to warn you of this, so you are not going to find out until it is time to pay. It is individual maverick franchisees that get greedy and ruin things this way for all the others when they play games like this, and tarnish the reputation of the company. I did go to the point of checking this out with Denny's Customer Service and was told that this particular franchise location has opted out of their national discounts, coupons and special offers. Shame on the Denny's Corporation for allowing this. read more

Ordered the grandslamwich with no cheese. Came at a decent time but with cheese. I'm not one to send my food back so I let that slide. I also ordered a stack of pancakes. Pancakes were completely raw in the middle. If the server wasn't as nice as he was I would have absolutely asked for a refund. Won't be going back unfortunately. read more

This is the first time I have come to Dennys on Veterans Day and I was extremely pleased with the service and my server Juan. When I arrived I asked if they honor the Veterans Day Special and he said "Absolutely" He then brought me a perfectly hot cup of coffee and took my order, The restaurant was very busy, but he made sure my coffee was always refreshed and checked in on my order that came out quicker than expected. I observed him with other customers and he was equally as efficient and personable! The restaurant was well maintained and the bathrooms were as well. It is my custom to take the bus (45 min ride)to a different place each year for breakfast or lunch and this was by far my best experience! As for my breakfast, my eggs were cooked perfectly ( thumbs up to the cook) and I ordered the Salted Caramel Banana Pancakes instead of the original ones and they were delicious! Please say hello to Juan and the amazing crew at this Denny's on your first or next visit! It is located right off the 5 and San Canyon Avenue! Juan keep smiling! Easy on and off I5, this Denny's is a happy, energetic respite from freeway travel. I had breakfast this morning, 2/3/23, and had a much better than average Slam with eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, toast and pancakes. Every portion was cooked well, not greasy, really hit the spot. I took half of the meal home it was so good and filling. This Denny's reminded me of Cheers (where everybody knows your name). It seems there are many regulars, as well as travelers from the La Quinta across the way. Javier, the host and manager (I think) was so welcoming to everyone, and my server, Juan A. was on top of things with a great attitude. read more

We had breakfast at Denny's on 14962 Sand Canyon Ave. in Irvine. They reopened inside dinning about two weeks ago. Javier the very nice manager allowed me to take some photos. Diana had: The Original Grand Slam; Two buttermilk pancakes, two sausage links, two eggs over hard, and hash browns. delish! I had: Sirloin Steak cooked medium, two eggs over medium, hash browns and toast. Ohh so good! For dessert Diana had: Strawberry Cheesecake topped with whipped cream & strawberry slices. Great for breakfast, not so much for lunch. First, this Denny's doesn't honor AARP discounts. Ordered the 55+ grilled cheese. On the menu it says it's served with tomato bisque soup, but server says soup is extra. And it was chicken noodle soup. Not a bad soup, but not the dipping soup promised by the menu. Then the sandwich uses a cheese that at best was velveeta. All in all pretty disgusting. I'll stick to eggs, hashbrowns and bacon in the future. They got that down. Service was also surly. read more

This Dennys is hands down the best in OC. I personally hate going to most restaurants because the service sucks, nobody is friendly anymore, restaurants are dirty and lack cleanliness. At this Denny's you are always pleasantly greeted. Most of the time, you can choose wherever you would like to sit and the service is AMAZING! Our Server was Jorge and he was so professional. He had a smile on his face the entire time he helped us. You could really tell he loved people! We come here often and the service is a hit or a miss. Some of the servers treat you based on the size of your order (and their potential tip). Any Oder from the value menu gets you a second-class citizen treatment. So please be ready. Severs will avoid eye contact, not smile, get you the wrong order and also not provide any refills. So if you are hungry and have a decent budget then come here (if Bruxie is closed). Otherwise, please go somewhere else. Also, not to forget if you expect a clean environment, head away. Very displeased with the level of professionalism at this location. Called an hour before they closed to place a small order to go order as I didn't have time for sit down. The woman who picked up the phone said they are already closed. When I said "oh the website says you're open until 12am" and she said "yeah but we're closed already" and when I inquired as to why why they were closed early she laughed and said "because we are?" Very rude and unfriendly. What kind of place closes an hour early? and then the staff laughs at the customer for inquiring? Unprofessional, thank god i didn't eat here because now I won't even recommend anyone come here. read more

This Denny's should be called Javier's. I came Into this location at about 4 in the morning to do some legal paperwork. The restaurant was playing a very nice 50s music playlist which I enjoyed. Maybe an hour into my breakfast and work, another worker walked into the restaurant. All of the employees who were already at work welcomed him with high praise. I thought that was very friendly and nice and shortly after I realized why everyone was so happy to see this man. He started singing to all the 50s songs. He was checking on anyone and everyone. By the end of my visit I was in desperate need of a printer but all of the printing services locations were closed being that it was 7 in the morning. Javier told me that he could print something if I needed it and within a few minutes I had everything I needed and then some. Great meal. Great music. Great service. I will absolutely return precisely for Javier. Team Javier!! read more

Like the menu selection for breakfast. Think it's a pricier than normal. Food quality was good. They cooked my eggs the way I wanted them (most can't do it the way I want it). I come here to meet a friend for conversation. I prefer breakfast but there lunch menu is great also. Compared with IHOP, I would prefer IHOP over Denny's. but that's just me. read more

We were able to gather tables to seat our group of 9. Everyone got something different. Food range was good to great. I split a 3 meat burrito ($16) with my partner. We couldn't finish our halves! He loved the friend potato strings in the burrito, which I thought was just ok. I got the new green sauce (which was $1) to share and it was soooo good! Everyone loved it so it's a must get!

The iced coffee was also really good and refreshing. The staff was friendly and welcoming, especially one of the young guys who was very kind and attentive, which made the visit feel even better. Overall, a comfortable spot with good food and nice service. I'd definitely come back again.

My favorite part was the pickled onions. I'd definitely get it again. And the *breakfast burrito* is okay. Nothing outstanding - they did tell us they get them made a day before and they warm up upon order.
