I've been living in Hawthorne for 10+ years and have always came to this Dennys but as of today I will no longer. Me and my family (2 adults, 2 kids) came in on a Saturday and was surprised of how empty it was. The lady at the front got our names as usual. After 10 minutes a few more people were waiting to be seated (lets not forget there are more than 7 open tables) the same lady ask us "how can i help you?"... we said we're still waiting on our table. So she proceeds to the next person thats been waiting and that person ask her "why are people waiting when there are tables" the waitress (Simone) then replies and says "i'm busy and we're short staffed"... that waiting customer was very upset and decided to leave... its not 30 minutes and the 3rd person has left (I have a lot of patience) So as another seated customer is ready to go he says "ill wait just get these people get seated". Simone says no we have to help the customers first.... ??? So by then I've had enough of little miss Simone... so I ask her "so what are we "pending customers "??? She says well we're short staffed.. I informed her yes i see that, but why not have your "pending customers" wait at their tables instead of the front! So when we ask for the manager gues what she says... "i am the manager". Hahahah Thats when I knew it was time to go. This girl had 3 people walk out on her watch in 30 minutes. My main issue was her nonchalant attitude and lack of sympathy for us waiting. She has no form of customer service or organization. She should learn how to multi-task and run her shift. Short staffed and busy is not an excuse... here's how I know... We decided to go to the Dennys on Inglewood and Rosecrans and guess what they had 3 people on staff but guess what we were seated within 5 minutes, our orders were taken, and yea the food was a little wait but at least our orders are in and we had drinks. Simone needs to take a visit to see how to operate a restaurant when you're short staffed and take a class on customer service and teamwork. If they had any form of teamwork everything would have went smoothly.... or she should just quit and try a McDonald's drive thru. Last Thursday I decided to try their breakfast early in the very early AM. The portion was big that I was not able to finish - Now this is Denny's. I ordered pancakes, scramble eggs, salad, and hash brown. It was all good, maybe little greasy for breakfast. Service was fast and respectful as Denny's is famous for. read more

My family and I were driving by this location on the way to the airport and decided to have a bite to eat before we get there. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile from the host and manager who were both in the front. The service was really prompt. our drink order was taken right when we sat down which was nice because it was a hot day. Our server was super friendly and checked on us frequently. The manager stopped by to check on us. Overall I have to say from my experiences at other Dennys this has to be the best I have ever been to. if I'm ever in the area I'll definately come back. highly recommend this dennys to anyone and everyone. this dennys rocks read more

i have eaten practically in every Denny's and they were the best. I especially liked my waiter Pascual! He was cracking me up the whole time and turns out he's a mariachi singer too. ask him to serenade you while you enjoy the "to die for" pancake puppies. Denny's has never been the healthiest of places to eat, but i must say how impressed i was to see that they have healthy low fat options as well. Also, all their managers there are so HOTT! The manager, Sam really takes care of his customers. He knows how to do his job and how to please his customers. I have never had a bad experience here. I come to study here since its 24hours and Sam makes everyone comfortable, he takes his time to get to know you. read more

I've always came here and received the best service except today! We stayed for over an hour and didn't even get our water!!!!!! We complained to the African American supposedly the manager and she blamed someone else for it! I don't know what kind of manager blames her employee instead of apologizing and providing us with what we wanted! I have been here several times and customer service is okay but the food is just terrible. I had really gross and cold French toast once. I've had to ask for new pancakes, French toast, & fries all different visits. They only have maple syrup as a choice which some may not like. I'm done giving this place chances. Myself and family have enjoyed the Dennys franchise for as long as I can remember, but of all the locations I've visited, this one's the absolute best! Being a southern California native, and my wife being a transplant from North Carolina, we've fallen in love with this particular restaurant because they served GRITS(A SOUTHERN MAINSTAY), and have returned almost weekly for the past year because of the service! There's a waiter named Lito, and he's special! Go once and the next time he'll greet you by name, and will usually remember exactly what you might want based upon your last visit! Truly unique and amazing! Now that we've become REGULARS, he sees us enter the parking lot and has our coffee ready and immediately puts in our orders! read more

I came here with a friend around 9:30am to study cause they had free wifi. I ordered a hot chocolate and my friend ordered a coffee and we wanted to split a skillet cookie a la mode. The waiter came back and said that they didn't have it. So we told him we would order lunch later since we already ate something before coming here. He comes back like 5 minutes later and asks if we're ready to order.. We politely told him we were going to order something for lunch later. Apparently he didn't believe us and just gave an attitude and was like, so you're just going to have drinks today..? After that he just ignored us and gave us our bill and we felt so unwelcomed that we just decided to leave, which was around 10am.. I love Denny's but that waiter was very rude. I ordered from Uber eats today and it was a huge mess. They took forever to deliver my food they didn't even bring it to the correct door and my order was completely wrong after calling to the manager they asked me to go pick it up I have two small kids with no car and the food was for them all the manager had to offer me was a "next you come here you can get your meal for free" yes the meal in which I already had paid for. The food that was brought to me was cold and old at the end of the day I didn't even get a correct apology I will never order from them again!!! read more

It's Denny's... you know what to exect. The food is good for what it is. Great for a lazy weekend morning or after partying in the wee hours fare. HOWEVER, my 2 stars for this particular D's is because of their near flawless consistency... that is their uncanny ability to mess up phone orders 90% of the time. I do phone orders here from time to time because it's very convenient, but they keep messing up the orders. I'm talking 9 out 10 times, the order is either missing something (frequently caught before I leave, sometimes not until I get home) or something has been prepared wrong (scrambled eggs instead of over easy, etc). The key here, CHECK YOUR FOOD THOROUGHLY before you leave. Don't trust that the double decker packaging means all your stuff is included in the bottom level of the box/bin. read more

I've only one good waitress a few months back that's the reason it gets the 2 starts but the others totally messed it up from my I literally had to get up to get a waiter to come. Worst service ever! My partner and I wanted to have a nice dinner and we just came out really mad at the end. He ordered a steak and shrimp. The meat medium. It turned out to be well done! I ordered a small soup and a side of vegetables. I only received the soup and my vegetables NEVER came! When I asked the waitress why my partner only got his steak and not the shrimp she asked us if we were sure if that's what we ordered. Are you serious?! Of course I know what we ordered! Very rude waitress. At the end when we were going to pay, I told the cashier, which was the same waitress that was rude, I told her our experience after she asked us how was the service. I told her how we were not getting the right service, the food was not done correctly and I never got what I ordered, and she just charged us without saying a WORD! We never got an apology or at least a way to fix the bad inconvenience! Simply horrible! Never returning as this is not the first time I get bad service here. read more

I ordered a dinner steak with my two sides. My kid had spaghetti. Both our dinners came with garlic bread. Asked the waitress for them and she said they don't give garlic bread. After I finished my meal, I got up and grabbed a menu. I called the waitress and showed her out meals come with a side of bread. She apologized and said they forgot. So I asked for my discount. They tried to give me pancakes. I asked for my discount and they gave me $2 off which is not even worth 1 side of toast that is worth like $2.19. I always go in the morning.
