I haven't been here in a while. I guess it's now a franchise and it's terrible. I regret bringing my wife and daughter. They didn't ask us where we preferred to sit (the place had plenty of empty space) so they sat us by the door....not cool....whatever. Our Italian appetizer platter had a long hair at the bottom of the plate stuck to the cheese sticks. My daughter and I ordered chicken fried steak (they were dry and hard). My wife ordered salmon and it was cold and had no taste. The steak knives handles were peeling like if they were 30 years old and the cups had cracked edges. I mean whoever owns this place should be ashamed of themselves. This place gives Denny's a bad name. We stopped eating in the middle of our meal, paid and went to Norms instead. Food is cooked so delicious. This is a smaller Denny's but love coming here because customer service is great. Waitressing is done always with a greeting, in a courteous and upbeat way. If I could give a zero I would. They took for ever to attend to me. The cashier Vanessa had no clue what the Dennys rewards was so she told me we don't have a rewards thing. When clearly there was a pad of sign ups stating Join Denny's rewards . What a shame for goodness sakes I though she was new. Then she called the waitress and her excuse was that every Dennys is different. My thoughts is that they don't know what they are doing. Oh and by the way the food was not good. I asked for my eggs well done and scrambled. They were neither well done or scrambled. They never offered a refill for my coffe. I HAD TO ASK. The african american waitress was the only smart one and she was so awsome she deserves a raise she is such a hard worker. The other ones are lazy and were just chatting. Came here to have breakfast with a friend- as soon as we were done eating we were not asked but TOLD to move to another table because they needed our table for a larger party. The rude manager who came over and told us to move didn't even bother to offer us an apology and neither did our server! Worst customer service ever! Worst Denny's meal ever. First of all, it took forever for someone to take our drink order. I got a coffee and when I took my spoon out of it from stirring in the creamer, I found what looked to be a booger on my spoon! So I lost my appetite. I also got an orange juice and the glass was dirty with coffee stains. The sausage that came with my meal was also really soft and didn't taste like it was cooked all the way. And instead of hash browns they just brought me toast and I was already eating French toast so there was way too much toast lol. And as I was walking out I heard a lady complaining about dirty silverware and that her food was lacking salt so someone here isn't cleaning the dishes too well. I was very impressed that they have now included Gluten Free notes on the menu. The food was good. The service was good. When we paid, though, I was disappointed to find that it is apparently a Big Deal which side of the pay counter I stand on (to the left or to the right of the register). I love dennys. My family and I have been eating here forever. This by far have been the worst one I have been to. I would recommend you rather go to IHOP. Lol. I went in this morning to have a nice breakfast. And was greeted fast and seated. But all of the waitress refused to take my order. Everyone keep explaining how I wasn't theirs. When 2 of them took orders from the people seating in front, behind, and across from me. I was seated in Vivians section. She told the other waitress to take my order which they refused. And seemed as tho they didn't know what they were doing or what sections they were assigned to. After 40 mins of waiting. I walked out and headed to roscoes which I should have done anyway. I order over the phone and they told be it would take 10 mins. I have them 25 mins to make it. I still waited another 15 in the lobby waiting for my food. They had my food ready and when I ask them for the name of the order. He didn't know, I told him the name and he agreed with me. He didn't know who's order that was. I open it and it was wrong. I cancel the order, I don't do that but when you have me wait on my 30 mins lunch. That's not fair. Now I can't eat anything till I'm off work at 4pm. This is not fair, you guys need to fix this. You can't be messing up people's food orders like that. It's a simple order. I'm back at work writing this nasty review instead of eating food. Now I'm upset at work and I have to be like this till 4pm. This was not nice Denny's. You have more then enough people at this location to mess this order up. I don't understand why they have the call in order. Majority of the time you call in and they tell you it will be ready in about 15 minutes, then you have to wait another 20-25 minutes when you get there. Its obvious Denny's did not think this call in and pick up process. I hate calling in a order only having to wait for it when I get there. Not only that, there have been times where I would call and they just lay the phone down and you can hear the employees talking and taking orders. Then 10-15 min later they pick up the phone and attempt to take your order. Denny's better get it together. read more

I honestly don't want to leave any stars for this restaurant. My experience here was beyond horrific. When entering the restaurant I notice a server and cook sitting on one of the restaurant tables talking and eating cake while no manager was visible. I stood there standing with my husband waiting to be seated. The only person working and running this establishment was Ms. Linda I didn't get a last name and honestly felt she needed support and help because how busy the restaurant was. That she couldn't even approach us to sit. Finally we sat ourselves and linda approached us with a warm welcome and genuine smile and asked for beverages I looked up at her and asked where everyone was at because she was over working. And looked very overwhelmed. She was very sincere and said I'm sorry I'm trying my hardest. While she's delivering food and cashing out guest I walked to wash my hands I can hear the other employees laughing and talking loud. Very disrespectful. I went back to my table and told my husband we need to leave. Absolutely not my servers fault she did as much as possible to make us feel accommodated to our needs. I can hear linda tell her cool she has orders waiting and he didn't get up. And I ask myself where's the manager ..???? I then get up to leave and ask linda where the manager was she pointed to the same table I saw the other employees sitting down talking and eating cake. This is ridiculous and outrageous how Inhumane this restaurant is making your server over work. I walk out to my vehicle because I didn't stay to dine and called the store just to make this manager get up from her comfortable seat and talk to me while I complained to get her name. She then tried to give me an excuse that she had no staff working when clearly I was sitting there and can over here them giggling while only one person worked. The manager Virginia Williams is not suitable or better said capable of running a restaurant business and should not be given the opportunity to show the example to others when she can't take care of her own guests. read more

Very bad service. From the time I walked in. I saw other tables being served and the server not serving me. One server asked if i been served i said no. I thought he would go get someone but he just pointed and talked to the other servers in the kitchen to see who would severe me. The waiter finally came but served the other table that came after me. I told him about the service i received and he had a very bad attitude saying he was on his break. Talked to the manager and he gave me that same excuse. Complaint on your General Manager Rasheed Obeid located at the Denny's on 13201 Hawthorne Blvd. Today myself and my co-worker stopped by this location to have breakfast. We both ordered the Santa Fe skillet. As we're eating and I'm finishing up my food I noticed a strand of hair in my plate/food. I was wearing a beanie and my hair tied back so it couldn't have been mine. I then called over our waitress and explained the situation and she stated she would speak with the manager. After speaking with him, she came back and said he has taken 10% off the meal in which wasn't acceptable to me! I asked that she have him come over so I could speak with him. Mr. Rasheed comes over and ask how can he help us and I explain the situation. He then VERY nonchalantly said he understands; however, their is nothing else he could do since I had eaten most of it. He mentioned if I hadn't of eaten most of my food he would have replaced it or refunded me! My response, HOW CAN I CONTROL WHEN THE HAIR APPEARS????? HAIR IS HAIR NO MATTER WHEN I SAW IT! After mixing up my food who knows when I would have seen it ! As I'm speaking to him he turns around and starts walking away. As a General Manager there is a certain way you should conduct yourself and YOUR customers! I felt in the manner I was dealt with wasn't professional nor respectful in no way shape or form. The FIRST thing that should have came out of Mr. Rasheed mouth should have been an apology on behalf of the staff or some sort of sympathy and he never said anything in that nature. As a customer when going to restaurant and spending your hard earned money you expect good customer service and a decent meal; however, in this event that didn't happen! For Mr. Rasheed to be titled as a General Manager and treat me/us with such HORRIBLE customer service was unprofessional and looks VERY bad! I have very few co-workers and friends that come to this location and I will share my experience with them along with writing a complaint to corporate office! None of the worker wear hair nets and, thats GROSS! Lastly, I noticed the owner and the General Manager has the same last name, I'm guessing father and son?! Smh.. I have left my name and number for Mr. Abdul Obeid (Owner) to call me, I'm still waiting! I go to Denny's all...ALL the time and the first time I was here, I had a terrible experience and only came as an Uber driver when orders would take me here and the service was super slow and rude. Fast forward to two months later and the place seems to have turned around, at least for the Uber driver. Daniel, the manager who appears to have a hand in the cleanup of the place, was super nice and helpful when it came to providing the food and was apologetic and provided and explaination as to why my previous experiences were the way they were. I should know by now not to come back here... I don't like writing reviews like this but I'm just tired of the horrible service and food.. we walk in and there's no one at the counter.. waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged.. sat down at our table. Ordered our food. waiter was very nice. However my moms skillet was salty and overly peppered. My 3 year olds nephew Mac and cheese looked brown for some reason considering it was Kraft boxed Mac and cheese which is bright yellow/orange... my lumberjack slam was served without pancakes as is tradition here. The eggs and such were fine but no cakes!!! When the pancakes finally arrived I noticed they had a weird taste. I opened the middle of the pancakes and they were raw!!! The mix was still runny and white... how do u mess up pancakes!!! Needless to say I had a stomach issues after getting home ... I did tell our waiter and yes he did offer to replace them but I wasn't in the mood for pancakes anymore....not cool guys... please get ur act together because I have yet to have a good experience here...... read more

This Dennys is very upsetting and dosent reach my expectations for a decent sit down restaurant. The service is terrible and it took about 30 minutes just to get a junior seasoned french fries. The senior citizens menu is very nice and i felt very well compensated because the price was reduced for us seniors. The kids were given a very nice coloring page with a large maze that is not for children but for adults. The crayons were used and had a very blunt edge and they were very similar to the ones that I saw at the 99 cents store. The place was very loud and didn't look clean I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

You're typical diner but with chains all over the US. Typical diner food: greasy, bready, and most everything is fried, but hey that's why you go to a diner. I like their initiative on promoting healthy living, have tried a few of their healthier options and I must say I am impressed. Not bland or flavorless as you would imagine it would be. nice service regular food you would expect from denny's my check was wrong and easily fixed with no issues whatsoever. quick and clean too. the only thing I would change is the fact that it has no bar sometimes when I'm alone I want to just walk into the bar have a slice of pie and coffee or tea with out too much waiter fuss of waiting for a table and waiting for them to walk back and forth to me for such a small order. i feel like i am wasting booth space for just me. which is sad too say I will just skip it sometimes cause of that reason. but everything is nice read more

Never again. EARLY MORNING CREW HORRIBLE SERVICE! Walked in and seated at 4:19AM and walked out at 4:29AM. After being seated NOBODY came to acknowledge us or offer any drinks. So I decided to TIME them until a waiter said at least one word to our table. The only waiter on the floor at the time was Joseph he checked on his tables and walked PAST US. Hmm okay, well I guess we need to remind them we're still here. So my boyfriend gets up and walks over to the server area to get the attention of anyone. So he tells Joseph "can we order, I need to go to work but I'd like to eat here and go" his response "oh you wanna order to go" And me being upset at the poor service (I'm a Server my damn self) I asked "whose the server for this section" his response "he's outside" and points. AND STILL DIDN'T OFFER TO INITIATE THE SERVICE. So you mean to tell me our server went on break and nobody is covering for him.
