I visited last night and let me tell you I wish I hadn't. Arriving past dinner time at 2 am me and my family were very hungry. There was only one waiter which could be expected at a late time like it was, but he was rude and rarely came to our table. Not once did Ray, our waiter, ask us for refills or even question about the quality of our food. It took a long time for them to bring it out in the first place. On arrival we ate starving, my chicken tenders were hard and seemed to have been over cooked while my daughters eggs were rubbery and less that satisfactory. After finishing my drink I noticed something on the inside of the glass. I swear to you I look and see ants in my drink, very disgusted and disappointed I called the waiter over. After complaining about the quality of the food and the bugs in my drink he replied, "unfortunately that happens" and left to get the manager. Steven, the manager, came to our table. Rudely he discussed how they never have an ant problem and how just recently they had exterminators come in. Although why would there still be ants? I asked for compensation for our meal and he replied "We will take care of Some of that" and left. Never returning to our table again, with a check or nothing. We left not wanting to pay for bad service, bad food, bugs, and last of all a rude manager. Never returning again and I wouldn't expect any of you to pay a visited either. read more

Doesn't look like much but it's a regular dennys restaurant. We waited for approximately 10 mins for assistants with the workers looking at us like we were wrong for being there. It's 11:30 at night but we verified they are a 24 he restaurant. Once we were finally seated the old lady said nothing and the waiter literally was talking another 10 minutes with another customer that didn't need help they were just gossiping. She then leaves goes towards the front and pretends to do other things while talking with her coworkers. I do not understand this service I am also in the customer service industry at a bank you NEVER TREAT A CUSTOMER LIKE THIS. You greet them let them know the situation and make them feel comfortable. The people here do not like to work, they should definitely reevaluate the way they treat people. I did not have a meal out of the disrespect she or he showed. Get better people to work at your restaurants. Ones that actually want to work. read more

Is always great service but after the incident I would think they would have more security to make the people feel safe.

This Denny's is stuck in a 1970's time capsule, and not in a good way. The decor, lighting, fixtures all looked tired and worn, and the ambiance was that of a small town rundown diner. The waitress fitted right in with that post-rehab, off-strip Vegas rough look. Nothing much is open late in this part of town ( new mapping now puts this Denny's in Happy Valley) so people looking for that 2AM breakfast end up here. The food is familiar high fat short-order cooked fare with lots of calories, salt and sugar. Good old American all star breakfast and shakes! I can't deny that dives can have their charm, but its not cute when a national chain is slumming it. read more

After an awful experience at another diner, this is a place I will only go to between the hours of midnight and 5am. Not that it's bad at any other time, it just so happens thats when I desire Denny's. This one is super close, and I always receive amazing service. The people here are super friendly and treat you like family. I never have any sort of wait time, even with big groups of people, we are easy to accomodate for and get fast, accurate service. The only problem I have ever had is when I got an undercooked egg, but the entire dish was given to us with the choice to be replaced at no extra cost, or to have the item removed from the bill. Old reviews are not doing this place justice, they have definitely gotten better with time. If its late and you need a quick bite, this is the Denny's to go to. read more

Won't go back! Food was decent, staff was horrible. Very snotty, seemed very rushed. Waited a very long time for our food and the 2 waiters were too busy gossiping to each other to wait on the customers. Updated decor was nice but due to the horrible service I won't go back. The other Denny's on 82nd in clackamas has not been updated but the service is good.. will stick to that location. read more

Oh man...I thought the Denny's in Canby was bad. It took 20 minutes to even get our food and it was still wrong. Sent it back...and after 20 more minutes it didn't come back. So we left. 45 minutes.. No food and the manager, Steve, couldn't care less. The server was slower and older than any Walmart greeter. Calling corporate.. Again.. Like Denny's really cares. read more

Saying the service was slow is an understatement. I realize that it was 1:00am but we were 1 of 3 tables. It took 20 mins for us to place an order and another 10 to get food. The food however was as good as i could have hoped. I really hope they find a great server that is willing to work the late nights. read more

I had the best pancakes ever from this Denny's! I totally recommend the Raspberry white chocolate pan cakes! you won't regret it!

A customer service commandment should be, "if you are going to offer a service, make sure your guest has an excellent experience." I dined at this Denny's today (5/15/2016) for breakfast. My girlfriend and I arrived at around 10:30, and after a short wait were seated -- in the back video poker room. A server was prompt to take our drink order, and after a few minutes, our food order. This is where things began to falter -- it took quite a while to get our food, and I suspected it would not be hot. This was true. Everything was just slightly warm. Our server returned not long after to check in on us, and I let him know how the food was. He apologized and took it all back to be prepared again. Management probably had him dealing with a lot of tables, because it was another lengthy weight for our food. This time, it was worse than the previous time as far as temperature (butter not melting on a waffle, for instance). At this point one of the managers came by (and I should have gotten his name, so I could thank him here publicly) and we told him about the food quality; he offered to comp our bill. This was done proactively, by the way, so I have to give our server and this manager props for taking the initiative. If management is reading this review, I would say it was around 11:00 a.m. that this manager came by with the offer to comp the bill. I can't give this review a higher rating as the overall experience was spoiled, but five stars to staff who are committed to ensuring their guest is taken care of. read more

This is my third bad experience here. Jokes on me at this point, I should know better. Today, at 2:30, we got up and walked out because when we walked in, 3 women looked at us from the counter and did not say a word, they continued to talk, and then one of them said in the most unenthusiastic voice "welcome to Denny's" the other waitress even laughed at it. We get to the table and the booth she sits me in is covered in crumbs, I'm wearing shorts LOL. I asked to sit somewhere else. We closed our menus after deciding about 2 minutes later. We waited 20 minutes. I finally looked up at the waitress to signal we were ready, and FOUR of them looked at me and completely went back to what they were doing. There were 2 other people there. They continued to talk between themselves, looking at us, with our menus down, and ignore us. We got up and left. I would never recommend this place to another person after three strikes. read more

I have visited this restaurant many times before writing this review. The Food: 4 out of 5 stars. Yeah all Denny's have the same menu but the menu changes from time to time. I only eat breakfast at this establishment so my opinion is based mainly on their skillet and omelet breakfasts. My food at this location is always served up nice and hot. The only issue I have had with their breakfasts is their hash browns. I can only eat these if cooked very, very crispy. After two or so failures, I started going with red potatoes instead of hash browns and have been happy with this substitution ever since. This place still gets 4 out 5 stars for food due to the fact that I am very, very seldom happy with hash browns that I get at any restaurant. At least this chain gives you another option. Can't say that about other chain restaurants. The Service: 5 out of 5 stars. To be upfront about this score, I do not ever wait to be seated at this Denny's. I always mosey on up to the counter. I nearly always receive immediate attention when seated. A very few times I had to wait up to 5 minuets but also could notice that staff at that moment was limited in size. This is very rare at this location, but it does happen. Anyway, my food is always brought out hot to me. I am constantly having my coffee and water glass refilled. Sometimes I have to ask but I have no problem communicating with the employees at this location, The management has to be given so credit as well. If server is busy, I have had on several occasions the manager bring my food out to me. This means they are wanting their customers to be served in a timely manner as well. It is also not rare to have one of the managers come over to me and ask how everything is or was. This is a courtesy I rarely see but at higher end restaurants. On a side note. I really wonder if some of these reviewers have their location correct. Most of the negative reviews seem to remind me of the service and food I have received at Denny's on 82 near Clackamas Fred Meyer. Remember this location is next to Clackamas Town Center. I know phone order pick-ups get confused between these two locations. Maybe some of these negative reviews have the wrong location. 4 out of 5 stars. Could almost give this location a 5 star but I always like to think there is room for improvement. read more
