Ok so growing up in this area, we went to the place it was back in the day, Akropolis (I think is how the spelled it back then) Back in the day it was pricey. Fast forward to present day and it's STILL pricey...and pricey for a diner. It is NY after all, but I mean, plenty of diners around that are cheaper. Does that mean I had a bad experience? Nah. Was just shocked at the prices. My plain waffle with butter was like $9. That's just insane to me. Waitress was super nice. She didn't check on us for refills and whatnot tho. So that was unfortunate. Still a nice person. Suuuuper quick in wanting us to order tho and by the time we got there the breakfast rush was definitely over. So It's ok to slow down some, sis lol. It's a good place to check out. Will I rush back there? Nah, probably not. We went bc my friend had to go to Canandaigua for her boyfriend and my mom lives not far from Canandaigua. So my friend picked me up...hence why we chose this place. Definitely worth checking out. People like this place from the reviews I've seen. Again, it's not a bad place at all. Food was definitely good. Just pricier than I expected is all...and again...for a diner. People love diners bc the food is almost always better than "regular" restaurants and the prices are USUALLY cheaper. This place is about or close to the same as a reg restaurant. The portions are large and the quality is high. I have been to diners where they use deli meat and you can tell, it's just not as good. At Yellow Mills they serve carved roasted turkey. It's delicious! The sandwich and mashed potatoes come smothered with gravy; the ultimate comfort meal for me. My partner ordered the fish fry with fries. It typically comes with coleslaw but they let him upgrade to a salad at no additional cost. Prices are reasonable, less than $30 pretax for our pictured entrees.

Our oldest devoured a blueberry Mickey Mouse pancake, which was bountiful with the blueberries. Our youngest enjoyed a cinnamon role as big as her face. I had the Rustic Sandwich, was absolutely delicious. My mom and husband had Erica's omelette, with my mom customizing hers with bacon. They both enjoyed homemade jam on their toast. The food was absolutely outstanding and we all left with full, happy bellies. (And we all ate our food before getting pictures--that's how good it was.) The servers were so friendly and made us feel right at home; we never felt rushed, and they kept our coffee mugs full. Photographs and drawings bring you to different time. Tiffany style lamps, sconces and brass chandeliers reminiscent of yesteryear's railroad industry, adorn this gloriously repurposed train station. The kitchen was a little slow turning out dishes, so when my wife's Pesto Pasta turned out to be something else, she didn't even say anything. On a previous visit we were seated in a quiet booth and the waiter Mark was awesome in helping my partner negotiate a food allergy for cilantro. On my most recent visit, we had to request bring reseated as the woman in the next booth was having a loud, obnoxious phone call for everyone in the neighborhood to overhear. The ambiance is upscale diner- comfort depends on where you may be seated. Will definitely go again- I hope I can find the quiet & enjoyable spot to have my dinner.
