Came on a busy Saturday morning. I sat at the bar so I didnt have to wait. Over all food was of good value 5.99 grand slam. One advice dont get the sauage, its tue worst sausage I've ever had. It had alot od filler and not much meat content. The the texture was if a Vienna sausage, but bland tasting. Everything else was good as can be on a busy morning. Me and my friends visited this place occasionally, usually when we go out to shows late, and fiend for something quick and hot. We usually comes around 3-6 AMish, and we always get served by this chill waiter. He's super eccentric and a little quirky, but he seemed to have a great attitude and we had a fantastic time with his service. Prompt, quick, and efficient. I forgot his name for some reason, but once I remember it, I will update this review lol. I got the Moons over my Hammy, but replaced the ham with bacon, and got swiss instead of american cheese. Its basically a sandwhich with cheese, hams, eggs usually scrambled, and a side of hash browns. We split the stacked or loaded nachos, with beef, sour cream, and cheese, and my friend got the All American slam, which is a fantastic deal... Hash browns, 2 eggs cooked to order, bacon or sausage, pancakes, orange juice, and coffee! Don't remember if it comes with toast, but you pay for what you get. Denny's is basically a chill spot to kick it after a long night, and you just want something quick and easy. Don't come here for their seafood, steaks, or anything that may not taste as 100% fresh. Its not a knock on Denny's, its just to take into consideration, Denny's is more of a breakfast and brunch place. Somewhat disappointed in Yelp that they do not have a quarter-star option because there are special restaurants who belong to such nobility. This is the WORST Denny's ever. Puts a bad name on the franchise altogether and makes me want to support IHOP because they won't treat you as subhuman. 3 nights in a row they disappointed me. The restaurant is open 24/7. My first night they rushed me to order my food when I simply asked for 10 minutes and went to the bathroom. The waitress brought the manager to my table to report me as if I had done a misdeed for not ordering promptly at an empty restaurant? Come on! If you don't like your job, complain to higher management instead of taking it out on a customer who has a PHYSICS 2 FINAL IN 2 DAYS. The last night I went, I tried to order and it didn't even happen. I was apparently known as "the man who comes to the restaurant and never orders" and they pretty much denied me service? Now I understand how it felt like to be a black man entering a white restaurant during the time of segregation because you wanted really nice cheeseburgers but they just so happened to be made at a white restaurant and you're altogether deprived from an earnest burger because of your skin??? Or whatever useless excuse? Why stay when I didn't even receive service. I have reported these 3 instances to higher management at Dennys for this awful and somewhat discriminatory experience. This diner has always been a place I've loved be it in Texas, Illinois or in this case Fairfax. I came here with my boyfriend late at night, probably 11:45-12ish, and we were worried going into it that there may be no options for us but we were willing to see. We can be difficult diners; we're vegan, and my boyfriend has a gluten allergy. We were shown to our table immediately, no wait, and our server was on top of it! He helped us piece together a beyond burger with a gluten free bun (fashioned out of their gluten free English muffin). With the line for Baskin Robbin's 31c icecream totally out of control, my 20 friends decided to go to Denny's instead. I protested, but the voice of one versus twenty is hard to hear. I'd never been to Denny's before, but I'm pretty sure that will be my last time there - unless they change a few things. Growing up in a country that outlaws smoking in bars, clubs, pubs, restaurants, and now cars with kids in them, I have become loathe to any public place that smells of smoke. We entered Denny's, and the waiter took us to a "non-smoking" area - which was actually more like the 75% smoking area as it was the connecting tunnel between the smoking and non smoking areas. After they took our orders, my eyes really started to sting, so the server reluctantly let us move to a different area of the restaurant. Prior to that, another waitress came over to tell us how much she hated the smoke in there too! Our new seating was better, but still a bit smokey. The food was ok - about what you expect from a diner. If you want diner food though, I recommend going to Silver Diner on Ox Road instead. Much more pleasant. read more

Had a over an hour to kill before class around breakfast time, and didn't have any cash on me, so I couldn't go to 29 Diner. For 6.99, I got an insane plate of food - the "meat lovers trio" or something. It was two eggs, a chicken fried steak with gravy, two slices of bacon, two sausage links, and some hash browns (complete with bits of sausage in them). It was enough calories for the whole day, I'm sure, and I wasn't hungry again until probably 8 hours later, so it did get me through most of the day. Eggs over easy were perfect, the hash browns were perfectly crispy, and the chicken fried steak was decent. The place was nice and quiet, and there are a lot of huge windows in the place. In a year or so, I'd probably be down to come back to Denny's and have that breakfast again. I've had dinner food here, and it blows. However, if you come to Denny's for dinner, you're an idiot (as I was when I tried doing that). That said, though, Yelpers are all over little local breakfast places that serve worse breakfasts than this Denny's does, for a lot more money, so I think three stars is fair. read more

There aren't too many Denny's in this area so when I found this one I was on it like white on rice! Reminds me a little of home, so whenever I'm in the mood for some breakfast this is my go to spot. There's nothing special about it, it's a typical diner with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but I love it. I never feel rushed and I know what to expect every time I walk in. This was our second time at this (and any) Denny's. After years of seeing the commercials, I finally get to compare them to IHOP. And they don't disappoint, honestly. The service is quick, the options are plenty (very comparable to IHOP) in that they have a selection of omelettes, sandwiches, entrees, salads, and, of course, the Grand Slam options, which is basically an a la carte menu. The quality of food is good, even though the atmosphere in the restaurant always makes me fear that it will slip into the "ghetto" or "dingy" category, but thus far I haven't been disappointed. I had heard that Denny's had problems with not serving African-American customers some time ago, but I didn't witness any attitude problems in this restaurant. But then, the waiters were Hispanic, the cook was HIspanic, the customers were AA, HIspanic, Asian, and white, we're South Asian......not a whole lot of room for racism. Good. Bathrooms could have been cleaner, though. read more

I used to come here regularly in the late 90s. We hosted insane parties, and whoever survived the night on the floor would come here the next morning, dragging their hungover bodies here around 1pm to throw sugar packets at each other, down shots of half and half straight, and eat whatever they could point to on the menu. Good times, those were. This week I came here for the first time since those days. Everything was blissfully familiar, from the wacky layout (seats opposite the restroom) to the claw machine in the entry vestibule. The menu had changed radically though - while maintaining the same staples, it now offered innovations like a burger with a side of pancakes. BRILLIANT. The prices here are dirt cheap. You can eat for two bucks... dig through your couch cushions and come out for a meal. The food is fine, not outstanding, but it's as good as any other similar joint - I'll be adding this place to my IHOP - Bob Evans - Amphora rotation. The service is fast and courteous any time of day or night. There's always someone interesting here too. On my latest visit, I walked past a group of sniggering, smoking teenagers (cackling about condoms) on my way in. Once inside, I was seated next to a group of clean cut, tie wearing, polite young men. All kinds of people come here. You should too. read more

It took 1 hour for the food to come and when it came, there were a few discrepancies in the order. However, when we confronted the manager about the discrepancies, he was extremely kind and replaced the wrong meals in a very fast manner and even excluded one of the orders from the bill. The food was superb, which included the T-Bone steak and eggs with hash browns with crepes on the side. A 4/5 is an appropriate rating as the food was superb however the food took very long to arrive and there were a few easily-forgiven discrepancies in the order. read more

We came into this Denny's at around midnight, exhausted after a day on the road with 16 dogs and two cats, and just had the most wonderful meal. Our server, who's name I never got but the receipt states is Ashwaq A, was just absolutely wonderful. She seemed to be the only one on duty at the time, and while the restaurant wasn't filled, it wasn't empty either. She greeted us warmly when we arrived, escorted us to a booth, and was very friendly to us throughout our entire meal. I can't say enough about this server, and I hope someone sees this review and gives her a raise. She definitely made our experience, and next time we are in the area, I'll be happy to eat there again. I had the Build Your Own Burger, which was just perfect. Everything was so good, I couldn't finish the fries. My companion had the Moon Over My Hammy, and loved it as well. While we were there people started coming in from proms and bars, but our service never suffered, and our cheerful, friendly server was right on top of us with refills of tea as needed. Today my son and I came into this location for breakfast. Upon arriving we noticed all the patrons who were white were sat in the front of the restaurant. We were sat in the back near the bathrooms, with no one else around us, mind you we are black. Our food took an unusual amount of time after walking around seeing people who arrived after us were eating. No one came over to let us know our food was running behind. This is extremely disappointing to see how this company treated us. We will never be visiting a Denny's location again after this discrimination. read more

You get what you pay for. So the food is like ehhh...(eat only if youre hangry//starving). BUT! What makes it memorable to come here is the GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Especially my 2 favorite waiters: Remy & Floyd! Theyve been working there for over 8years. So its hard to miss an old longtime face! And the atmosphere in Denny's feels good. A place to just let loose, unwind, be myself without getting judged by society's approval. Day times VS night times is definitely a different atmosphere, but nonetheless great customer service overall! I think its because the staff is so relatable to anybody just letting the community know that they are able to be compassionate as well as very understanding. This Denny's is a staple for my other half and I. We frequent when we just don't feel like cooking breakfast at home (rouglhy once a month, usually on Saturday or Sunday). The breakfast is always delicious and the service is good as well. We never wait long to sit, even during peak hours, and our coffee is never empty. Good, inexpensive food for a restaurant that is open 24 hours each day. Usually if you are going in as one person, even with a line out the door, you can get a seat at the counter. Service is super quick, and order was filled quickly. You can order as soon as you are seated if you are ready. Tried a new type of pancake for me today, the Blueberry pancake slam with eggs, hash browns and bacon. Was nice to see they have some Gluten Free items on their menu, made it a little easier placing my to go order for my wife. The to go order was ready by the time I finished my meal. My wife and I, up until yesterday, were big fans of Denny's. On trips to the Midwest, we would very much look forward to the Denny's in southern Illinois, Indiana on I-64, and others. And we had enjoyed this Denny's on the way back from physician appointments in this part of Fairfax. No more. The only thing that saved me from a rotten day today was a pill called LipoGold, that is tremendously effective in mitigating the effects of fat in a meal. I could have filled a pretty large container just with the oil and grease on my breakfast---turkey bacon and eggs. Definitely the most disgusting breakfast I've had in a very long time. Today my wife has really serious diarrhea, 'the worst since my chemo,' in her words. She had an omelette, and whatever was in there has made her very sick. I just asked her, and she thinks the meat was bad. I tasted it, and didn't finish the bit she gave me, so that may be it. So, two Imodium and a prescription pill later, she hopefully is on the way to recovery. Never again, Denny's. You won't be ever seeing us again. read more

Been wanting to go to Denny's for a while...Used to go a lot more in my drinking days when there was one next to Shooter McGees across from Fairfax High School. I really wanted to try their pancakes, but by the time I got there I didn't feel like pancakes so I ordered a breakfast sandwich instead. It was sourdough bread that was grilled with cheese and ham and had scrambled eggs in it also. It came out piping hot and I upgraded the hash browns to the fried red potatoes which also came out piping hot. The sandwich was very cheesy which I loved, and the red potatoes were much better after I put some salt and pepper on them. The Seattle's Best coffee was very good, unfortunately trying to get refills was not very easy. The food was excellent, the service only adequate. One of my old favorites was on the menu the SuperBird sandwich, if we go for lunch or dinner that likely will be my choice. The worst part was trying to get there from Falls Church on a Saturday afternoon. 66 was a parking lot and so was Route 50 what would normally be 15-20 minutes without traffic turned into a 45 minute ride for breakfast. read more

Denny's is legit! I got the 4$ sausage biscuits and gravy meal and it came with and open faced biscuit (with gravy obv), 2 eggs, and hash browns! My friend got a 4$ breakfast sandwich which came with hash browns I believe, and the little ones got two kids meals.
