All of the workers are super nice but there's one server who always go out of her way to make sure I'm ok and that have everything I need. I don't know why this Denny's has so little stars but don't believe all you see. I came to this location after having my car worked on up the street. It was empty and we were offered to choose where we wanted to sit. Although this Denny's is dim in lighting, it's staff is not. My food came out at a normal speed but wow. F R E S H E S T Denny's I've EVER had. I've never bitten into an over medium egg and thought; WOW. Even the egg was perfectly good - alone!! If I could give this Denny's a negative 5 stars I would! Friday Night Date Night...with my kids. Norms had people waiting outside...skip. Rounds had just closed...keep moving. In n Out had cars lined up on Indian Hill. So against my son's warnings...his wife and I outvoted him and pleaded for Denny's. Moons Over My Hammy awaits!! We walked in. Dining room didn't look too bad. Only one couple waiting in front of us. So we were optimistic. I counted 4 waitresses. One feeble looking manager. Less than 10 tables with diners at various points of their meals. And we waited...and waited. No one greeted us. The man we assumed was the manager...didn't acknowledge us. Waitresses were running back and forth. After 15 minutes...we were seated. And left to die there.... Another 15 minutes and no one even took our drink orders. No one greeted us. I've been to this location twice and I've had great service but just today when I also have work and decide to eat with my family is when things just go wrong. The host up front was great 10min? Yeah good wait time no biggie but when we got seated we waited about 15min for our server to get our drinks which is a really long time. Then she leaves again to get another tables drinks ... another 10mins keep in mind that I also have work ... 30mins for her to get our order in. Other servers passing by saying "table 10" hasn't been helped okay but why couldn't you just get our order in to help the server that was behind instead of yelling? Super unprofessional. Was there for almost an hour with no food on the table. Had to go to the host stand to tell them to cancel my order. I saw our server come from the back most likely chatting with other servers. Went Last Night At Around Midnight With My Mother To Grab A Quick Meal, And Our Experience Could Not Have Been Any Worse. We Were Seated After A Couple Of Minutes, And Then Sat At Our Table For 15-20 Minutes Before Anyone Even Acknowledge That We Were There. Probably Seeing Our Frustration A Waitress Walking Past Us Asked If We'd Been Helped Yet. After Ordering Another 15 Minutes Passed Before Our Drinks Came, And 45 Minutes Or So Past Before We Got Our Food. Half Of My Order Was Wrong And Had To Be Sent Back. My Scrambled Eggs Were Overcooked. Once My Pancakes Finally Came They Were Undercooked, And Didn't Taste Right, So I Didn't End Up Eating Them. Once We Were Ready To Leave We Waited Another Fifteen Minutes Waiting For ANYONE To Pass Us To Ask For Our Check So We Could Just Get Out Of There, But Nobody Ever Did, So We Had To Get Up And Ask For It At The Counter Ourselves. I do not eat at Dennys at ALL , my daughter wanted to go to Dennys for her 9th birthday and I even tried talking her out of it but she insisted that she wanted to go eat pancakes so we said okay . We get there and had to wait long than others and they got their after us ,finally we get a table and sitting there for 15 minutes with no water no utensils and a left over napkin with snot for all we know . I finally asked a waitress "who is our server"? I then told her this is ridiculous having to wait this long . So then our food gets to the table and i order the skillet and it had to be the worse i have ever seen or ate , it looked like the skillet was half eating or they split it up with some one else's order . My son's steak was cold with no flavor try eating a medium rare steak cold , my wife's salad i mean how can you go wrong on making a salad RIGHT ? The new waitress came over and said something snotty like " oh you guys been waiting for 10 hours let me hurry and take this order " My wife was like really you have to go their (name was Tritia or something) Ill leave the rest of it up to you . This Denny's was the worst experience I've ever had at the chain. I usually like Denny's for a quick meal because it's cheap and fast, especially when people just want eggs and bacon. We went in a group of six at a peak brunch time. Waiting wasn't the problem but it would have been nice for all of us to get waters when we were seated, instead of just some. We all ordered, and after everyone but one person's food got there, our waitress informed my hungry friend that the kitchen was out of such-and-such to make the breakfast she'd ordered. Isn't this something that could have been discovered BEFORE everyone else's food was done and served? My friend had to order again and wait far too long for the simple grand slam she ordered, and at the end of it all they didn't even comp her for the inconvenience. But I guess after all it's a Denny's. Couple of other sketchy points. My boyfriend's scrambled eggs looked like they'd been prepared a long while ago and then reheated. One friend ordered a smoothie and asked what was in it besides the fruit and yogurt, because it tasted weird. She was met with a shrug. I found some small stain-looking thing in my pancakes -not a blueberry - that was pretty disturbing too. Overall, a place that can be, by all accounts, avoided. Jackie checked in on us through the meal. We were offered coffee and orange juice to go. Really friendly and clean service. I will be coming back soon. Then it took another 30 minutes for the waitress to ask what we wanted to eat. I got the $6 French Toast breakfast and the French toast was very watery like they defrosted it with a cars headlights, the eggs look like a sponge and the sausage was pink in the middle: My wife got the cranberry chicken salad and the chicken was fried on the outside and pink on the inside. The thought of diner dashing was considered but like civil citizen, we paid. We will be calling their corporate office to ask for a refund. This restaurant matches its reviews. My party of nine entered the establishment at 1:30. We were told there was not enough appropriate seating for us but when we pointed out the empty seating in the corner, they hesitantly seated us. We waited for 40 minutes total and we reminded the staff that we had not been attended to. After no service after several reminders we became impatient and decided to leave. It wasn't until after walking out the door that we were asked if we wanted to be served. I understand customer service can be difficult during busy hours but tonight's service was substandard and unacceptable. We went across the street to Norms and were served quickly. It is a typical, nice and cozy, Denny's restaurant. This one is located in Claremont, near Claremont Promenade area, on the Indian Hill Boulevard. I used to visit this Denny's a lot, when I was living in Claremont. The meals were usually delicious, and cooked perfectly. The prices for the meals were quite fair. Furthermore, the place was clean, and there was ample of space to sit down, and enjoy the meal. Definitely, I would recommend a visit to this Denny's.
