I love cafe de olla and as they say, it didn't disappoint. I got an exceptional cup of cafe de olla latte, thanks to Elijah, who was a very welcoming and and friendly young man who help me at the counter. He answered all my curious questions. It is such a small shop. There are no seating arrangements inside the small shop that has a lot of merchandise from T-shirts, sweatshirts, to coffee beans to mugs, etc.. from the looks of the mugs that are featured here. This shop has been in business for a decade, more power to you. I hear vibrant and cultural music that is faint enough for you to be able to carry a conversation, I really love that. This is right by the Metrolink train tracks street parking noted and there appears to be a public parking that's free along first street this shop is in the corner of first Street and Main Street. . But when looked it up, all the photos made the matcha look more milky or specialty flavor forward, when what i like is just a standard strong latte. Took a chance and ended up getting an amazing drink, super creamy and delicious! Basically to the level of a lot of the trending cafes in other parts of socal, wish i heard more about nambah online. Slightly sour, but fruity coffee. Overall, I enjoyed it. Good mouthfeel too. Good temperature, it wasn't too hot nor luke warm. MANGO MATCHA At first taste, it tasted more like guava. But it was indeed mango. But a fake mango flavor. The mango flavor was there, but could not taste the matcha. It wasn't bad, but I had better mango matchas elsewhere. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was okay. Not bad, but not great. Staff could smile more than just stare at you. Even say "Hello" or "Welcome" when you walk in the coffee shop. LOCATION Located in a small strip mall at Golden Springs Plaza. Parking is medium-sized for the amount of businesses here. I had no issues finding parking in front of the coffee shop, although more and more parking spots were being taken. AMBIANCE + SEATS The ambiance was relaxing. No loud music. Lots of people coming in and working on their laptops. Five small tables for two in the center. Along the wall there were bar seats for 19-20 people. There's a long communal table in the center for seats for 4-5 people. At the front and to the side, there were 3 tables for two. Outdoor tables for two right outside the cafe. Bathroom is outside of the cafe and you have to enter the other part of the building with a bathroom code to unlock. Will I visit again? The espresso hits first. Dark, bitter, roasted, strong as hell. Then the milk rounds it out, and the sweetness comes in behind it, almost like an orchestral ensemble where every instrument knows exactly when to show up. Nothing gets buried. Nothing tastes like melted coffee ice cream. If you're anywhere around Claremont, do yourself a favor and make the detour. Drink this coffee. And if you're coming to LA for the 2028 Olympics, 10/10 must put it on the fucking itinerary.
