Over the last 3 months I have come to this Dennys for breakfast and lunch. Service has been prompt and courteous. Any changes to the items on the menu were made without issue. Leather benches need an update. Weekends are busy.

Coming back to this place is pure nostalgia. The exterior and interior looks the same and so does the menu. Yes, Denny's may be a chain restaurant, but when your craving breakfast at any time of the day, this is the place to go. Love that they kept the classics such as the 'Grand Slam.' Portion is decent size. Staff is courteous and fast. Parking is available, free and located at a large lot.

Dennys is a staple for many here. Still got the free birthday grand slam or anything on the menu + price of grand slam ($14.59 as of June 2024) All the Dennys I've been to had superb service and this location was no exception. They had not changed their menu in quite a long time and I was tired of getting same things each time. They recently introduced the berry stuffed french toast. Despite its name, the french toast is not stuffed with berries. It's basically a french toast sandwich with whip cream filling and strawberry syrup+strawberries on top. It was delicious and a great alternative to adding syrup. The bacon was a bit overcooked and tough and the sausages were just the generic salty breakfast sausage. Eggs were cooked perfectly.

They were so good to me I asked for ram cheese and they didn't have it they gave me vanilla whipped cream instead.... That's amazing and they give me a hand written note..... nobody cares anymore.... They did!!!

I think the food got better now. This Denny's has been around for years and I last ate here several years back but didn't think too much about it. It was average. I came here after an early medical appointment as not many places were open. This is 24 hours after all. There were already customers having their breakfast. I saw the promo for their super slam was still available so I ordered that. It was a good deal at $10.99 for a big breakfast. You got eggs, bacon, sausage, hash and pancakes. I also had coffee which was refillable. A hearty homely meal at a good price. The pancakes were so fluffy! I love it. The bacon was a tad too salty for me. Service was good. Coffee was topped up frequently. I usually go to IHOP for pancakes (because of the different syrups) and the kingsway location closed a few years ago. Now I know I can come here for pancakes too. Plenty of parking at the plaza though it may be a wait for a spot if you come during peak periods.

This was a cali club and chocolate milkshake. I'm so forgetful with the photos...but you can tell I enjoyed it!

Server was great. Service was quick. Food was delish. Haven't had a milkshake in ages. Took advantage if the birthday deal!

We went to Denny's for their BOGO Eggs Benedict offer. My husband and I both ordered Eggs Benedict dishes while our daughter had the Brisk it All melt sandwich. Our Eggs Benedict dishes were both tasty; however, the eggs on both of our plates were overcooked. We're major foodies so we'd been hoping to film a nice, soft yolk oozing out of the egg. Imagine our disappointment when we cut our eggs open only to discover that the egg yolks were dry inside. I did hear from someone else who had the same BOGO offer at the same location of Denny's that their yolk was runny. So, it seems it's possible to come here and get a good Eggs Benedict, but...they are not consistent. Would I come back? Yes. This is the first time we've come here and had food that was subpar. All the other times we've been here, the food was good or decent. I'd give them a lower rating if I were judging based on this one experience alone. However, I'm choosing to factor in previous visits I've made to this restaurant over the years, which bumps the rating up a bit. I probably won't take my chances on ordering any more Eggs Benedicts here though. On a completely different note, there was a claw machine in the restaurant! We didn't try it out but it sure was exciting to see. I wonder how long they've had it. It certainly wasn't there the last time we came, which was...so many years I can't even remember. It sure does make Denny's feel like a funner place to come to! Service: Good Parking: Plentiful and Free Location: 5605 Kingsway, Burnaby

Moons over my hammy used to be one of my favorites off the Denny's menu - overtime the quality has dropped - I found it to be overly oily/buttery, that picking it up left my hands greasy and wet - not great seeing your sandwich dripping - not cheese but oil... Hash browns was disappointing - not crisp, more on the mushy side - Meal left me feeling so thirsty for water - sodium overdosed on this one - will come back for traditional slammer breakfasts - but will not be getting another sandwich -

I came here with B for breakfast/brunch. We got the lumberjack grand slam to share. The portion size was huge. It came with 2 pancakes, 2 slices of toast, eggs, 2 sausage, 1 slice of bacon, 1 slice of ham and hash browns. I found out later I could have substituted my hash browns with mashed potatoes. Darn, oh well! Next time. B also got a coffee as well. The portion size was huge. The quality of the food was ok. I found the bacon very salty and everything else was mediocre. I counted the staff inside Denny's and there were over 15 people working. The turn tables were fast. People kept on coming in. Wow this Denny's is sure busy. Service here was excellent. Staff was friendly. Parking is free and readily available behind the restaurant and in the mall as well. Note that if you come here on your birthday, you get a free grand slam meal for free.

This location has been around for decades. Even has the classic building shape. As of the time of writing they open until midnight, which is nice. Parking is available in the large plaza lot. The inside has the traditional layout, with the front counter and waiting area on one end and the large rectangular dining area. Staff are friendly and service was quick. Food is typical diner stuff. Comfort food. The Diner Double burger is decent but wasn't as big as I would've liked. Personally I would go with the smaller cheaper variants on the menu. Good to see that location is still around.

We were group of eight but there was no booth to sit together. So we were separated to 2 groups of four and sat next each other. That's ok we still passed appetizers over sofa. I had a double cheese burger with hash browns. I wished they cooked longer a little. More melted cheese and charcoal grilled burger. I mean my burger was ok volume wise but it can be better, that was my thought. Caramelized onion was perfect though. Wifi password was posted on the cashier. Not on the table.

If you have a hankering for breakfast at any time of the day, this is the place. I came here for their free breakfast which is available on the day of your birthday. You just need to provide photo ID with proof of birthday. The freebie is the Grand Slam, a choice of 4 items from a decent size list with some healthy alternatives like egg whites & turkey bacon. Breakfast is available all day. A great breakfast place for all ages. Prices are reasonable! Note: they offer special menu for +55 years. Service was prompt. There's complimentary parking available. They are open from 7 am to 11 pm.

It is also a fantastic spot to work if you wanna have a café setting because their pastries and bake goods are absolutely fantastic. In fact last year for Christmas, we bought one of their Christmas cake options which proved to be super popular with the family. What I love about this location is the decor. On one side it is a simple industrial warehouse. But it has that post modern feel with all of the live plants. The live plants is what I love and the tall ceiling for the plants to fully grow. Though if they are looking for something else, which could really bring this to the top, it would be to have a fish tank. A fish and or water feature around the massive plant island in the middle of the dinning area would be chefs kiss. Of course, what about the food? From here, I find the food here is excellent. Sometimes the flavour combinations are a little weird. But that's typical for the Vancouver foodie scene. Vancouver food scene is a fusion hybrid of local ingredients mixed with traditions from cultures from other places around the world. But the bottom line is the portions are a good size. The platters in particular are large and would feed a very hungry person. You definitely get your moneys worth. You don't get much table service once you are done with your order. But that is all right because of it size and volume for the amount of people who come through. I am totally happy with the self serve station, which could be enhanced and the large setting with all of the very mature plants. If I would offer advice to anyone it would be this. If you are going to be there on the weekend arrive before 9 AM. People start lining up at 10 to 15 minutes before the store officially opens. Missing from the plates was butter for the toast and waffles, so I'm not sure if they don't usually provide it or they forgot it. Service was mostly ok but our server asked us when we were still halfway through our meals if we wanted anything else and when we said we were good, she did not come back until we flagged her down for the bill. Maybe she was new, but servers should still check on customers for refills of coffee, hot water for tea, etc. Coffee is $3.25 and I did not get a refill due to the disappearing server, so it was quite pricey for one small cup. Pro tip: There is free parking in front of the restaurant but it's also for the golf course and is pretty busy even on a Wednesday after 7pm so plan accordingly as street parking is a bit far away. We ordered the mussels as an additional appetizer in white wine broth and also each ordered the $45 menu. We both selected the Oven Roasted Beef Striploin and for dessert there was a choice of cheesecake with caramel sauce, cinnamon cheesecake, and black forest cake. My Mom chose the black forest cake and I ordered the cinnamon cheesecake. The mussels appetizer dish was quite generous in quantity for $23 and mussels were a good size. Served with 2 slices of toast, the white wine sauce was more watery than other places but still decent. For the $45 course, the Summer Corn salad comes with artisan greens, feta, carrot, radish, tomato, red onion, orange vinaigrette. This was a refreshing light start to the meal and we both really enjoyed it. For the slow roasted beef striploin, it was served with asparagus and bell peppers, mash potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and a red wine demi. The beef striploin was lean but not tough and was super trendy and juicy. Yorkshire pudding, which I'm usually not a fan of, was really warm and soft. Overall, a really solid dish that was generous in portion. Dessert was also solid for both the cinnamon cheesecake and black forest cake. We barely finished the dessert and both of us had leftovers of our entree to take home as we couldn't finish our food. Great value for a 3 course $45 meal for today's economy and the service was really friendly and warm.

Not just for golfers…read more Reward yourself after playing 18 holes with a meal at Burnaby Mountain Clubhouse. This restaurant is open to golfers and non-golfers alike. Stepping into BMC is like taking a time-machine back to the 1960's. Decor looks straight out of an era when Polaroid cameras ruled the photography world. The restaurant itself is moderately sized, but they were able to accommodate our party of 12. Restaurant was very dimly lit; most of the light was coming from the setting sun. The menu had as many choices as a typical White Spot. Prices were reasonable, but entrees could be upgraded which could cause prices to escalate if you weren't prudent. For example, I ordered the steak but got the lobster upgrade which raised the price by 30%. And, it was the lower-grade Caribbean lobster instead of the much juicier Atlantic lobster. It took a long time for the food to begin arriving. But, we did have a larger party that night. But, after a long wait, all our food arrived almost all at once. Presentation was good, and portion size was adequate. My steak was medium rare even though I had requested rare. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals, and a few were unable to finish their food. Service was only okay. If they weren't taking your order or delivering your food, you didn't see much of the staff. And, the restaurant wasn't exactly busy either. We did ask a server to take a group photo of our table, and they happily obliged. I'd skip the round of golf and go straight to the restaurant.
