Deciding where to go for our traditional Thursday morning breakfast we decided to head over to Denny's. They have a wide assortment of items for breakfast so I said, why not? We arrived and the service as good from the getgo. We all settled down for our coffees and didn't have any issue other than some of the cream curdling and of which was promptly replaced. We placed our orders ( 2 whole wheat pancakes and fruit plus an order of French Toast). The fruit came firstly and so I offered it to my Daughter who prefers non-meat products but she declined..luckily so as I found a grape with Green and white mold. Tracking down another waitress, we informed her of the issue as well I had forewarned my wife whom also saw one in her fruit and that prompted her to stop eating. The waitress asked if I wanted another one and I told her that if there is one, the likelihood that more was in that batch is very high...I declined but by that time when the rest of the order arrived, we then informed our original waitress as it seemed like the second waitress wasn't surprised nor did she care.. I highly doubted that she even told the kitchen staff nor manager. Therefore beware of the suspicious fruit especially if it gets up and walks away So sad that the kitchen no longer takes pride in what comes out of their kitchen. Just as a side fact, it wasn't busy as I ran a 4-5 star property's food and beverage department for nearly a decade. Let's see if their executives care to respond. Happy dining y'all read more

Average somewhat overpriced food. When I eat at an American Denny's, it's cheap and I do like the value. For the same items in Canada, it can cost $5 or more depending on the food item. That did not stop me from coming to this location today when I wanted some breakfast food. Ambiance is a diner dated feel and look. The franchise make it a point to look like a diner as part of their image. Quality is average. This location makes the food alright. It's not amazing but it helps satiate a hungry appetite and there is enough selection that there is something for everyone to like. Service is barely passible for a quiet lunch hour. The place was about a quarter full of customers. We did not get our water refilled once by the end of the meal. I finished my last drop and decided not to bother flagging the server down. Also, they messed up an order that we sent it back and got the correct item in return. Also, when paying the bill, the cashier shorted us $1. I considered them self tipping themselves and didn't bother to ask for that $1 back. I considered that a donation as I will not be coming back here anytime soon. Before catching a matinee of Ant-Man my buddy and I went to Denny's for a quick bite. I've been to this Denny's many times and I like Denny's. I think I'm a big fan of breakfast joints! I realized that they have a new menu! It's the Fantastic Four menu! This is obviously to promote the upcoming movie. I ended up ordering The New Thing Burger: a cheddar cheese bun with a meat patty, cheese, bacon, and a fried easy over egg! I have to say it's a bit messy to eat but it's good! I guess the burger is suppose to look like the Thing... Hmmm... Let's just say it tasted good! Haha The wedge fries that came with the meal tasted like they came directly out of the freezer. I suggest tatter tots instead! For what it is Denny's is great! Lots of delicious choices and quick, and fair pricing. What else can you ask for from a restaurant? read more

Average North American cuisine at average prices with average taste. It is one of the few 24 hour places in the Metro area though, so my boyfriend and I do come here every once in a while after he gets off work at midnight. The food will suffice when you're hungry, but if you have other options, go there instead. read more

Don't you just love FREE STUFF on your birthday? So, I did my research and began my quest for as much FREE as I could get for my birthday... first stop, Denny's. Denny's, the home of the free meal on your birthday. No need to sign up for anything... just show up with your ID and eat away. My birthday was on a Saturday this year, so I woke up early and claimed my meal. Now, they take a maximum of $9.49 of your meal if you are dining with a friend. Dining alone? Fear not, they will give you a free Grand Slam. We walked in and no line! We get seated in a small booth and wait for our server... she reminds me of my aunt as she explains the free meal. Done. I was going to get the Make Your Own Pancake Meal anyhow ($7.99). No, you don't get to make your own pancakes... this ain't home. You just get to choose from an assortment of options. I chose: Buttermilk Mix (or you could get Whole Wheat... I already eat sad brown bread at home, don't make me do that here), Bacon as a mix in (they also have berries and white chocolate chips), Fresh Strawberries (or you could get bananas or syrups) and I said yes to whip (because who says no?). I also chose sunny side up eggs and sausage with my hashbrowns. It sounds like a lot, but it's no Lumberjack Slam. My husband got the Fit Slam. Healthy egg white omelet with spinach and tomato, English muffin, Turkey "Bacon" (that ain't anything close to bacon... it's like leathery spam) and a cup of fruit. You're wondering how we got together... So happy it was free... but not because it was bad and I didn't want to pay, but because where else are you gonna get rewarded for being born? read more

A solid late night place for anytime breakfast, & wide selection of average food, albeit a bit higher than one would think for a diner, but someone's gotta pay for these newer upgrades & look of Denny's these days. Menus seem a bit spiffier too. I generally come here for the desserts, & do recommend their Reese Peanut butter cheesecake or chocolate cake w/ ice cream. Service was good. Although when my order was being taken I felt like the Server was going to walk away before I was even done giving my order. It's not like the Server was busy. The Restaurant was practically empty. I keep coming back to this Denny's location because parking is convenient. I don't expect much with Denny's. The restaurant was actually cold. It felt like the heat wasn't even on. It's getting colder now so a little bit of warmth would have been nice. I ordered the Bourbon Burger. I haven't had that burger yet so I decided to give it a try. I also like to request my fries being cooked a little longer. The burger tasted great! There was just one exception in that the burger was a little soggy and fell apart on me and it was super messy. I'll def order that burger again but I wish that the cook times the burger with the fries better so that the burger doesn't go soggy. The fries was actually the worst. The fries had a fishy after taste to it. I don't generally find their fries having a fishy aftertaste so at this point all I can say is that if you are allergic to sea food I think there might be a tendency to cross contaminate sea food with other deep fried foods. If there's a chance of that happening people with Sea Food allergies must use caution. Avoid deep fried foods at this Denny's location if allergic to Sea Food. I'll eventually come back and order the same dish the same exact way and hopefully the fries won't have a fishy aftertaste. If I've got a choice and my wife and kids didn't wanna try this place, I would have walked out - they seemed extremely busy but there's not really much patrons nor queues up front. All i wanted after my order was taken was some water for my family - tried calling for the girl upfront when she walked past looked at me twice and walked off as well - just like the other server I called that looked at me and walked off. Im still wondering for the price we pay at White Spot I dont mind going back there, they really are accommodating compared to this Denny's at North Road just across Lougheed Mall. We haven't been to Denny's for awhile so wanted to try the Kingsway location. We were very impressed with the variety of items including low cal (egg white omelets, multi grain pancakes, fruit bowl) and great prices. The service was excellent, the food great and coffee hot. We talked to Steven the manager and he was extremely hospitable. We would definitely go to this location again, felt safe there (plexi glass) and great food and value. read more

Decided to hop on by to a Denny's for the first time in my entire life and ordered the Bacon Slamburger with fries and mushroom sauce as well as an oreo milkshake to share with my friend. Food is good. The Bacon Slamburger is pretty much a breakfast sandwich but just "fancier", I guess. Not worth the price. Prices were a lot higher than expected, as it seemed to be a diner but dishes are generally above $10. Service is good, although she gave us strange seating. It was sort of a round booth that would be suitable for groups, when it was just me and a friend, yet there were other booths that were open that would be fit for two people or more. It's no longer a fluke this is officially the worst Denny's I've been to. I understand sometimes places like Denny's have bad service days, or get busy but this location every single time I've got the same horrible waitress, and the same horrible service. I'm not sure how she is still employed but who knows First off I don't have the highest service expectations, especially not in a busy diner like Denny's. Bring my food, refill my water every now and then and I'm a happy camper. I don't need you to ask how the meal is or anything else. That is it! The waitress at this particular location seems incapable of both of those things. Orders wrong multiple times, no refills, no drinks? Yup. She wasn't even friendly, and seemed annoyed when I asked where my water was when she forgot it. Then the last time I went in it was the last straw. I ordered a certain item on the menu. It was unavailable. Fine, ok. Then she's like "We don't have it. What do you want?!" "Can I have the menu?" She got irritated with me and brought the menus. She informed me when taking my order again "we don't have the soup". Umm, I know? That's why I asked for the menu in the first place. Unfriendly much? Then I got my new order.The omeletes. We ordered online and went to the Denny's on Marine instead of Kingsway. So after realizing our mistake we drove to Kingsway. Guess what our order was not ready! We had to wait 15 min till we got our order. If we got to Kingsway, we probably would have to wait another 40 min. The service was very slow because it must of been very busy. Being unable to turn down a free meal - came to this Denny's for the 'Super Tuesday' event where the original Grand Slam breakfast was free. I was worried there would be a monstrous line-up and when I got there at about 10AM, the lineup was out the door. My friend and I were tempted to go somewhere else - but as we agreed, "Free is the sweetest sauce of them all". The staff gave out little fried pancake balls to everybody standing in line and made sure that everyone that wanted one, got one (thanks elbowing hoarders!). Despite the frenzy, the staff was very professional and ran a very efficient operation. Turnover was quick as people were considerate enough to not diddle-daddle and make others wait. We got seated after a 27 minute wait. Not too bad, I've had to wait longer at Bon's for their $2.99 breakfast or dim sum on weekends. I go to Denny's every now and then when I feel like a sodium gorge and only order the Country Fried Steak. I think it's around $7 regular price for a Grand Slam and you get two bacon, two sausage, two eggs and two pancakes - so it's probably a huge markup profit for Denny's and it's something I would never order. But when the price is $0, bring it on! Then again, you know what a Denny's is like. Overall, great service despite the frenzy of free food and a well-organized promotion (at this location at least). Only cost us the price of my buddy's orange juice and tip. In a purely rational sense, it was probably not worth it based on the quality and time cost -- but if it's FREE, it's good with ME. read more

I ordered pick up for me and my girlfriend, we were quoted 15 minutes, we arrived to pick up and ended up waiting for over an hour. When we finally got our order, of course it was wrong. Okay, so it is only a Denny's. Expectations not overly high, but still disappointed. My husband and I stopped in for a quick breakfast. First thing I noticed, absolutely NO mention of gluten free choices. One or two "lite" items but that was it. Husband had the all American slam. Ordered it with ham only. Came with sausages and bacon and no ham. I ordered the meat lovers omelet. Tasty, but barely warm. Huge slices of almost raw onions. Cut them smaller and cook them longer. Waitress friendly enough but didn't come to check on us once we received our food. Place was not busy. Husband had to ask for jam as the holder on the table was empty. Today April 20, 2019..We took our dearest friend for brunch to celebrate her 70th birthday. My husband and I were so excited for her, we bought her a beautiful cake. We thought the staff at Denny's would bring the cake out to her and sing a birthday song. Well it just so happens that my hubby had to go get the cake and bring it himself, which was not what we both expected. We also thought that the birthday meals were free, not that we wouldn't gladly pay for her meal. I don't know what has happened to the happy customer comes first service. Its totally lost. The atmosphere at this Denny's location was pitiful. Come on people, it was her 70th birthday and that's a big milestone for people. Food quality is very poor here. The waitress was nice, but my brother had ordered a banana salted caramel creme pancake. They made it wrong because there was no creme between the cakes and it wasn't topped with salted caramel. He also ordered a build your own grand slam with turkey bacon, and the bacon did not have a bacon texture. They were more like bacon chips. This establishment in my opinion, was opened for the sake of opening an establishment. Food quality here needs to be improved or they will suffer greatly. read more

I love Denny's! It is 10 min walk from my house and the service is good. I could give them a 5 star but one of the times I've been there they gave me a dirty glass with water. VERY disgusting. Denny's used to be a restaurant I go to, expecting pretty medium quality food, that is cheap. Denny's serves great breakfast food, and their entrees aren't bad. However, don't expect good quality from any of their steaks, especially their sirloin steak. The sirloin steak in particular is old and overcooked. It has a rubbery texture to it, and it's quite literally impossible to chew through or slice into. I doubt it's fresh, it seems like it was probably cooked then recooked again. It was impossible to eat. The other steaks I've tried have fairly decent quality to them. Denny's is a decent place to go to for cheap breakfasts, but their lunch menus and dinner menus are quite low-quality. If you want good quality food, I'd recommend trying out the Whitespot nearby before visiting this place. read more

Went here for the first time in many years. Waited 25 minutes for a table of 3, which I get Sunday morning can be busy. Will never go back the whole experience was very disappointing. The food was cold and greasy, the toast was burnt. My husbands eggs looked like someone dropped the oil container and the hollandaise sauce tasted like chicken stock. It was gross. My daughters pancakes were still a little raw in the middle and swimming in a ball of butter while the bacon was so hard she hurt her tooth trying to bite it. Got them to take the food back but couldn't stomach the idea of ordering anything else and opted to go elsewhere. Worst. Experience. Ever. We came in with 7 people and we were seated in a booth for 4 people. We asked for a bigger table and was told they closed off the other side of the restaurant. After asking 3 times we were finally moved to a more comfortable spot. The servers could not count and gave us 0 sets of utensils and 5 cups of water. We ordered Nachos to start and when it came... there was no cheese and it was drenched in sour cream. The chips were burnt. I do not understand how you can screw Nachos. I ordered fluffy pancakes and received crispy and burnt pancakes. The pancakes look fine at first, but when you flip them over, the other side was BLACK. One of my over easy eggs became scrambled and was served to me. My hash browns were burnt... It seems like the cook either doesn't know how to cook or doesn't care about how he serves the food. Our food doesn't even look appetizing... looks like someone just threw food on the plate.. not even nicely plated. Never come here if you're on a diet! The food is reallllyyy greasy. I order their honey jalapeno pancake. I thought the pancake would taste like jalapeno, but turns out it's the bacon that's getting the spicy taste to it. Their hash brown is really delicious though, probably because they're so oily. The portion was big, I would be mad if it isn't because that means I spend $11 for pancake that I could just make at home. The place was nice. The service was, well.. not that good. Because the food took to long to be served. And when it's served it's cold. Big disappointment.. I mean I know that they're no fancy dining restaurant, but at least if I wait long enough I want my food to be worth the waiting right? Maybe it's because they want to serve the menu at the same time (my other friend ordered steak, maybe that's why). My four year old granddaughter wanted to have some strawberry milkshake so I want to this Dennys and ordered a kids size milkshake went to the washroom came back milkshake is still not ready the seven who was helping me started helping another customer before me and another and then she makes the milkshake and she put it on the counter and then went to help another customer that just walked in I had to ask her to do my music first because I have to go they give me my milkshake in a coffee cup you can't even put the straw in it when I asked him to take change the cup the cold even find a go away cup and the manager said we don't have any The service is so bad at this restaurant and this is the second time I went and found that they have nothing in the store so I asked what kind of business are you guys running then you don't even have one cup to go who drinks milk shake in a coffee cup and for this I only give one star read more
