Even has a counter area for a quick bite

Came to breakfast with my mom while oil was getting changed at Honda. We really enjoy coming to the Artesian location. Our server, Teresa, ALWAYS remembers us. Someone's we come regularly and at times it will be a few months between visits. She always has a warm and welcoming smile. We walk in and even if she's busy she will acknowledge us and just tell us to sit anywhere. I grab our menus and off we go. It gives us that small town feel in a city restaurant. The place is clean and inviting. The booths are spacious and there are more booths than tables. I really like that. Lots of windows, too!! Love having that natural light. On to the good stuff...the food! My mom LOVES their pancakes. Only pls r she really enjoys them. We ordered the $6 Everyday Value Slam--consisted of: 2 pancakes or you can have 2 slices of Brioche French toast or 1 biscuit n gravy, you also get 2 eggs, plus 2 bacon or 2 sausage links. We chose the bacon. We also had a senior 55+ omelette which is 2 egg omelette with caramelized onions, basin, tomatoes and cheddar cheese, hash browns and toast. It was fantastic! We also had 1 coffee and 1 iced tea. The coffee comes with a small carafe, so that was great we didn't have to wait for refills. The restaurant is located in a large parking lot with a hotel literally 30 steps away, no I didn't count, but it is a stones throw away from where I'm sitting. I told my mom those guests in the hotel are lucky they can have chest breakfast 1 min walking distance. Parking lot is clean and restrooms are as well. I forgot to add, the street this Denny is located isn't the best neighborhood, but never had a problem. It is also located off the 91fwy. The entrance and exit is right there. From the booth I'm sitting I can see the hotel and the freeway.

Neri was amazing waitress she maid me feel welcomed and she was really good energy her smile is beautiful just like her personality I will continue coming here for Neri

Slow service. Manager was unprofessional.

This complaint is to the woman manager at this location. There was a one man show cashier/server the day I came at 8:30 am. Obviously slow service. He was by himself working front and back. I waited patiently to be seated. He had to ring up customers, run to take other orders, pour coffee, get food from the back, etc. Customers were backed up. It took awhile to get seated, and longer for him to get my order in. My Food came out late and warm (not hot). Other customers kept looking around for service as they couldn't even order yet. Finally 40 minutes later when I finished my breakfast, the manager showed up to the front register. When I told her about guests waiting too long for service due to lack of help, she said "this is nothing"...as if I shouldn't complain. Kudos for the single hard working service guy who had to handle the whole restaurant by himself although he couldn't keep up, and I saw the stress in him as he rushed table to table. But rather than apologizing for the short staff and slow service, the lady manager at this location was unprofessional and downplaying the situation. To the manager: If you read this, then take it as constructive criticism to improve yourself and customer service. I also own a small business and often short staff. I always apologize first when I greet the customers "sorry for the long wait". That's professionalism.

Happy P.

Why is it hard to get a refund for food that has not been delivered? Why ask me to call Uber to process my refund? Very terrible customer service!! Will never go to any Denny's.

Just making my timely updated review. The lights were still dimmed, which brought a great ambiance…read moreto the dinner experience. It was very relaxed and just had chill vibes. The evening started off strong, as we stopped by during Hoppy Hour (around 9ish). There wasn't a wait, and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The front staff was nice and polite. She gave us the option of either a tall round table or a shorter rectangular table. We of course, opted for the slightly shorter (height-wise) rectangular table. Once we were seated, we were given the menu, and the waitress told us that we would be right with us. She stopped by to ask about drinks, and we opted for water. She dropped off water and came back with perfect timing because by then we were ready to order. I also love the simplicity of the menu. There really aren't too many options where you feel overwhelmed, but there are still enough choices to pick from. Shout out to the pastrami quesadilla, I didn't realize it had been swapped for a new menu item until I asked about it this time around, but I'll be waiting for its comeback! We ordered a few items: the mac and cheese balls, the Wagyu bone marrow burger with truffle fries, and a double smash burger with ribbed finger potatoes. We had to get the mac and cheese balls since it was Hoppy Hour! I also didn't realize that on Wednesdays, the double smash burgers are half off. I'll definitely remember that for next time. After we ordered, the food came out quicker than I expected. It was a nice surprise. I think the first item came out about 10 minutes after our initial order. The mac and cheese balls came out hot, which was great. The breading made them super crispy and gave a nice crunch that balanced really well with the softer, chewier mac and cheese inside. I was glad the inside wasn't too runny since that would have made it like lava! I didn't see a cheese pull this time, but next time I'll try again to see if I can catch one. It was a great start to the meal. The burgers came out shortly after we finished the mac and cheese balls. I totally forgot that the truffle fries came with sauce. I should have asked for the sauce on the side, but it wasn't a problem that it was added on top of the fries. It just made them get soggy a bit faster, but that's no problem; it just means I've got to work faster! The burger was good and came out super juicy. I asked for it medium, and it looked about medium, so no complaints here! I never realized before, but the bread was so fluffy... it was a super pillowy bun with a nice bounce to it. It definitely helped balance out the meatiness of the patty. The hint of tomato gave it a nice, refreshing bite and really helped cut through the richness of the meat. The onions also added a nice sweetness to the burger, which was appreciated. I also snuck a bite of the ribbed potatoes, and they were good as well. They were a bit crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside, with just a touch of saltiness. I also stole a pickle from the double smash and realized I probably should have asked for pickles on my burger, but I'll remember that for my next visit!

Tried out the umami burger, with mushrooms and pickled onions, it was pretty solid! Unfortunately,…read morethe Fresno fig came out cold and the fries were overcooked/too hard. One visit we waited over 40 minutes without being acknowledged, another time our order came out wrong, and another time the food arrived cold like it had been sitting for quite a while. Because of that, I honestly did not want to come back tonight. But I was craving a good steak, and after my husband suggested giving 908 another try, I reluctantly agreed. I noticed the filet mignon on the menu paired with broccolini and decided to go for it. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt completely different. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us immediately. A young man came over right away with waters and took our drink order, which already surprised us in the best way. Then Alex S came to our table, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful in making sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I mentioned that I didn't want a large piece of butter melting over the steak, and he happily accommodated that request. He even checked on the exact ounce size of the filet for me, which I appreciated. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and honestly, they were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. Perfectly cooked, not drowning in sauce, and absolutely packed with flavor. My 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The broccolini was crisp, fresh, and not overly oily. Everything tasted thoughtful, balanced, and worth every dollar. Most importantly, Alex S delivered spectacular service from start to finish. We were genuinely shocked to learn this was his first night shift because he handled the dining room with professionalism, warmth, and confidence far beyond what we expected. Thank you, Alex S, for completely changing our impression of 908. Tonight's experience was excellent, and for the first time, we are actually excited to come back. Thanks again, Jed Dornoff

Very good very rich, we should've opted for slaw on the side, but the fries were delicious. I had the grilled cheese and homemade tomato basil bisque soup. That was so darn delicious! My husband got the Tuesday special which was a smash burger with fries and a drink for $15.99. He got a margarita as his drink so he got a great deal. The burger was a little small but he ate the other half of my giant sandwich so it worked out. The meatloaf sandwich had a delicious crispy sourdough bread with a lot of melted cheese. I added some ranch as I thought it was a bit dry but overall it was good. It came with a big helping of fries as well and I got the garlic fries. They were very garlicky but so good with the ranch. My parents got the Cobb salad and the turkey pop pie. My mom didn't love the pop pie, I think because it wasn't really a pie- just a dish with biscuits on top but the Cobb salad was really hearty with a lot of toppings and it filled them up plenty. They ended up taking most of the pop pie to go. This place has a lot of great deals so make sure you check them out. Was looking to have breakfast/brunch somewhere near Lakewood and this place popped up with great…read morereviews. So bf and I decided to check it out. Aragon House Cafe is located on the corner of Clark Ave and Rose St, across the street from the liquor store. It's a small location and can be easy to miss. They have a small lot behind them of about 3-6 spots so you may need to grab street parking. Walking up to the cafe, they have an open window for to-go orders and the front door right next to it. As I mentioned, it's small; with about 6-8 tables. We decided to go on a Sunday around 10:15am (they have Yelp Reservations but it was empty at the time we arrived). There is a single use gender neutral restroom near the back as well. Marisol, helped us as well as the rest of the tables. The space began to fill which I told her is always a good sign. We started off with two cafe de olla, which if you aren't familiar is Mexican coffee and if available get over plain black coffee. It was the right amount of sweetness and fresh. For food, we wanted something sweet and an egg dish and we couldn't decide. I mentioned all the pancake flavors looked good and Marisol said that they were able to do different flavors instead of one flavor for a stack so we decided with the Matcha and Coffee pancake. For our savory dish we went with their Chilaquiles and added chicken. The pancakes were delicious. They had height to them and weren't dense, but a nice fluffiness. Both served with fresh whipped cream, and one with a matcha sauce, the other a coffee saucse, and berries. The matcha pancake was light and had a mild matcha flavor, we added a little syrup to it but it was so good. My favorite was the coffee pancake; it had pronounced coffee flavor throughout, and the sauce made it even better, no syrup needed. The Chilauiles were delicious as well, we got our eggs scrambled so our was topped with it. The chips were tossed in a spicy red sauce but had their crispiness intact, chicken was cubed and not dry, the eggs were scrambled just right as well. We polished that plate. The food here was amazing, and Marisol was a delight in serving us. Check this out if you're ever in the Bellflower area. At a cafe trying to have a more elevated brunch vibe, that just felt cheap and disappointing. Overall, I still appreciate having places like this in the area and maybe we just caught them on an off day, but the food quality didn't really match the experience we were hoping for.

For the third consecutive year, I've been put into a position where I've had to organize a catered…read morelunch for a group of 10 to 20 people at work. Not wanting to choose one of the two eateries I chose each of the past two years, I went with The Stand to see if I can give them the 4th star that I've been trying to give them for the past year or two. The final verdict? No, unfortunately. This year, I was in a rather unique situation where I also had the option to double my party size, and The Stand had catering packages that would feed both party sizes: The Feast for 10 to 20 people, and The Big Feast for 20 to 40 people. But don't think The Big Feast is twice the size of The Feast; rather, the only difference is an additional platter of 20 half sandwiches/wraps. Otherwise, both will have a platter of 20 half sandwiches/wraps, a large gourmet salad, a large side, and a cookie/brownie platter. After much deliberation, I went with The Feast with Meyer Lemon Broccolini and a Sidekick of Chinese Chicken Chop Salad with Chips & Guac. I chose all this to avoid the need for flameless heating kits since I wasn't sure how they'd work. I was drafting an email to the catering team to add some supplementary instructions I overlooked initially, but after the FIRST15 to 20 minutes following submission of my order, Sydney from the Catering team gave me a call to ask for clarification on some details based on my email communication. Really appreciate how punctual she was at this, and she was happy enough to send out an updated invoice. However, I learned from Sydney that the Meyer Lemon Broccolini would need a flameless heating kit even though the catering website did not mention that. In fact, during my email communication prior to placing my order, I pointed out that the Meyer Lemon Broccolini and Red Ginger Green Beans weren't listed as vegetarian despite being vegetables, and they confirmed they were indeed vegetarian, but not vegan. I noticed these oversights were immediately addressed after I brought them to their attention. However, their website still indicates their cookies are vegan when they are not; I'm not going to bother with another email at this point lol. I had given them two weeks' notice for my order, knowing that the catering team can change it on their end. I didn't want just one flameless heating kit, so I decided to switch out the Chips & Guac for the Mac & Cheese, which is about $13 more. I arrived about 10 minutes before my scheduled pickup time, and I saw my catering order out in the open on a table where any customer could just grab it and go. Luckily, there were only a few customers inside, and when I stopped by my order, Kim came out to greet me. We recognized each other even 8 to 9 months after those technical difficulties spelled out in my last review update. I asked her to review my order with me before leaving, but when she said "Chips & Guac", the abstract record in my mind came to a screeching halt. I asked to see the invoice, and it was the older version from before I made the switch. I later found out they had printed my invoice too early even though their catering team said I could decide as late as the day before. Luckily, Kim checked the kitchen and needed only about 5 more minutes for the side of mac & cheese to be ready. She also let me keep the chips & guac even though she initially said she could swap it out, so that was nice at least. I also appreciate how they waited until my arrival to make a custom grilled cheese sandwich for my vegetarian guest, who enjoyed said sandwich. I also asked to put that guest's name on the box so I could tell easily. However, my abstract record cacophonously halted again when Kim asked me to pull up to the front door so they could load my order into my car. I had parked close by and previously requested for at least one employee to help me carry my order to my car. Also, I didn't want to block the right lane of the frontage road through the town center, so Kim and a team member helped carry the order to my car. My guests enjoyed the food for the most part, and I used this opportunity to invite them to visit The Stand with their family/friends on their own time (and dime lol). My order included an abundance of sauces and dressings, and I also appreciate how there were label stickers on each half sandwich/wrap in the platter. However, I would highly recommend a different means of labeling these sandwiches/wraps. As an example, I tried to grab a Chimichurri Steak Wrap only to find out it was actually a Falafel Wrap, which was the only vegetarian option in the platter. Good thing I got my vegetarian guest that grilled cheese sandwich! Lastly, if you've managed to make it to the end of this review, I'll let you know there's a discount code for customers placing a catering order for the first time. You actually read it in this review somewhere. Missed it? Sorry, I'm not giving it out like that. You'll have to re-read the review :)
