Everything Protein Bowl, Cajun Shrimp Tacos, Mahi Mahi Tacos, Rockfish
Sarah T.

California Fish Grill is another one of my fav spots for a yummy healthy meal. Everything is always so fresh and super customizable. This time around I got the shrimp taco and mahi mahi taco with my sides being beans and zucchini. This was my first time getting the tacos here and it's definitely going to be my new go to. The seafood was perfectly seasoned and I loved the fresh toppings on top.

This was my first time here. You order at the counter either using a kiosk or talking to a person. They call you when your food is ready and you come up and get it. There are lots of tables. They have the stubborn drink machine, so there are choices that you don't normally see. There is also Pepsi and Pepsi zero. I ordered a bowl with kale salad, white rice, chicken cut up, pickled onions, and garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is pretty strong, but very tasty. I decided I'm really not a fan of kale. There was music playing in the background. I was familiar with all the songs, so it was very enjoyable. The staff are are very friendly. OK. Here's the important part. Get the app and sign up. I just did and they sent me a bowl with mixed proteins and rice. I get two weeks to use it. That is extremely generous for being a new patron at a restaurant. They are located on the corner of South and Gridley with lots of parking in the Target lot. Come on down!!!

This is my first time in this location and I was shocked at how big it was. When you enter there is a huge menu above the registers. Makes it easy to see even if the line is backed up. There are two self service ordering station. It was easy to use and our orders flowed smoothly. Our food was great. We asked for hot sauce and they only had Tapatio and Tabasco. I slathered that Tabasco on my fried catfish. No regrets. Craft soda was not my thing. Pepsi is also not my thing. The two iced tea they had to offer both tasted pretty bland. If you don't like any of these drinks, I'd save the nearly $4 charge and get a water cup.

Loveee this fish grill have tried all of them in the area and the service here beats them alll !! Terry is the best !

BURNT BRANZINO (SEA BASS)

This place is not consistent with their grilled fish. My wife just ordered grilled branzino for dinner today and when she got home, my branzino was literally burnt and ended very very dry. I will not recommend this place anymore for poor service and inconsistent quality. Very disappointing!

Walked in for lunch and Terry greeted Me. She was very helpful and has a great personality. My food was delicious. It's very casual atmosphere and the service was rather quick.

Fish and chips, Fish tacos

Been coming here for years. This time we had fish tacos and fish and chips. Taste and quality never changed. Fish is always fresh. Batter on fish is not overwhelming. Not salty and greasy. Salad goes well with the tacos and fish and chips. Fast service and friendly staff. Place is always clean and have to park a little farther.

Salmon burrito bowl

It's the start of lent, fish is my only option. It was definitely better and heartier than a fish taco, so I chose the salmon burrito bowl. It has everything to fill you up between lunch and dinner course. Serve yourself style, order from the counter and pick your own table. Came in after lunch and before dinner rush so the place was pretty quiet except for overhead music. This place is always a simple treat with great expectations.

2/25/26 - My Mom and I had Branzino for lunch at California Fish Grill in Cerritos, CA.
Christine H.

My Mom and I have had our lunches at California Fish Grill in Cerritos. Yesterday, February 25, 2026, we returned here for lunch. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent! We enjoy this spacious and clean restaurant. We always like sitting by the windows whenever possible. We always enjoy dining here, and appreciate the excellent food and service!

The bartender was super attentive, and she was always there so it was very easy to order! I ordered two short rib tacos, which the tacos were $1 off, and the mole tots, which was probably $4 off? Pretty worth visiting during happy hour! Service was very quick. There were also other few people ordering food besides drinks at the bar. Starting off with the tacos, the short rib was very nice! Very soft, tender, and flavorful. You can taste that they put amount of hours to preparing the meat for it. I just wished they added more condiments to the taco cause it was just cilantro and onion. I wish there was like salsa, radish, etc. It's kind of pricey compared to a street taco, but the quality of the meat was definitely higher. Also the mole tots, this was pretty good, although I wish there was more cheese. First few bites were pretty good, but the more you eat it, it does taste quite overwhelming from the black salsa. I wish there was also more toppings to it too. Overall, dining at the bar during happy hour was very chill! The bartender was also very nice and welcoming. Saw a DJ was setting up, but didn't get to see him play when I was dining around 6:30pm.

This place is nestled into a small strip mall with a couple other restaurants located in it kind of tucked away not hard to find, but you would miss it pretty easy, it was either the owner and his mom or his wife and they both seem nice. They took the order they made the order and they brought out the order so it looks like a hard-working family. Now onto the food !! My soup was good and I could tell that it was fresh because it took about 20 minutes to make and nobody else was in the restaurant. I appreciate the attention to detail, but for me the broth was just lacking. Something was definitely missing in the flavor department. My 10 year old son ordered the Carne Asada quesadilla and I had a small piece of that, which was actually pretty good as the tortilla was nice and fluffy and very soft. The meat in the quesadilla was also tender and not tough which also helped out Not saying I wouldn't come back to this place and give it another try ,but the soup for me was definitely lacking what I was looking for and I've had better albondigas soup at other places.

So in the meantime we needed a Scooby snack :p The Mexican spot next to Thai bbq was closed for the holiday. So I started calling around because my mom needed her carne asada tacos! Called around and I remember I had Los consomes on my list and they were open YAY. I ordered two carne asada street tacos, a queso birria ,a queso asada taco and chips and salsa. I was raised in Cerritos so I know Artesia very well and made my way over from Thai bbq. Walked in, nice clean little mom and pop. Seems like the guy was the chef and cashier. I didn't realize there was a little bell to let them know you're there so I stood around for a good minute til I pressed it lol. For safety, I'd say they should have something that makes a noise when you first walk in. Anyhow, he came out, rung me up and food was packed and ready. Got home and tore into the bag. The chips definitely tasted made to order. Extremely fresh! The salsa was sooooo good. He asked if I wanted the hot sauce and of course I did. Even my mom indulged and she usually can't do spicy. It was a perfect amount of spice. She said her tacos were the softest, not soggy tacos she ever had. The meat was perfect and plentiful. The queso tacos were simple and delicious. No dried out tortillas here! The Birria was nice and soft. Their meat was perfectly cooked. Not tough or a crazy chew to it. My mom said the chips were addicting. We were full just off our tacos and some chips. I needed a nap LOL. They have a nice straightforward menu. Not a million things, just enough options to keep you interested for multiple visits. Great service from a hardworking family I bet. I can't wait to go back and try their soups, even with this summer heat I wish them much success:)

While $1 street tacos are long gone (which we have to accept), Angel's makes the price fair by loading every taco up with guacamole and all of the usual stuff for you. I normally get asada tacos and cabeza tacos and both are very good. The horchata is usually the best horchata you'll ever taste, but sometimes it can be chocolatey and inconsistent. Please Angel's, make this consistent! A lot of people bring up Tacos Los Cholos as the OC benchmark, but they serve different tacos. To me, Tacos Los Cholos is where you go for expensive, specialty cuts like ribeye that cost a lot. However, Angel's is where you go for the absolute best affordable street tacos.

I ordered an asada taco and an al pastor taco, along with a side of asada fries to share. First things first, the portion of fries was HUGE! Keep that in mind if you're ordering for yourself because it's definitely enough to share. As for the tacos, the carne asada wasn't my favorite because my portion had too much fat for my liking. The al pastor taco was good, but it wasn't your typical al pastor where you get that delicious charred flavor. Instead, I tasted more of the seasoning, and while the meat was nicely tender, I was missing that char. One thing I did love was how they piled on the guacamole and paired it with some bomb hot green salsa! That definitely added a nice kick. I also noticed a staff member walking around and checking on everyone to make sure things were going well, which was a nice touch.
