Javier was my server. Nice, pleasant young man. I ordered the lumberjack. Eggs over medium--perfect. Swapped hasbrowns for their bowl of fruit-. I did not expect such a great treat; fresh cut bananas, strawberrys, grapes, and 2 different apple slices, green and red. Pancakes were fluffy and yummy. This review is not so much for the restaurant as it is for the difficulty in ordering from it. I attempted to call in a takeout order earlier and was redirected to an offshore call center. Why can't a restaurant pick up a telephone call? After difficulty in conversing, the call center disagreeing with what I said my name was, and the fact that they could not confirm the location I was going to pick up from I gave up. I attempted to place the order online, and couldn't find anywhere to add an extra cup of gravy on the side. In my opinion, these chain restaurants should look into what they're lowered customer service level does to make customers go elsewhere. I called a local restaurant down the street who was more than happy to accommodate my wishes and went there instead. read more

It was 3am and me and my friend came to get some food. As we waited to be seated the manger was complaining about how his cook was drunk and how many drunk people are coming in and how busy they are. We waited 20 min and the manager comes to us and says "I can't take you for a while" when we asked what's a while he shrugged his shoulders and didn't say anything else. I've been here many times! It's a Denny's. Don't expect anything above average... again it's a denny's. The waiters are all fantastic and super nice but almost any changes/coupons you bring in needs to be approved by the manager. Everything is so strict that the waiter complained to us one day about it. I keep coming back here for light meals like appetizers or deserts because they make them well and it's open late. So I can sit here for hours and not worry about having to get kicked out. I've been to a 2 star hotel once in my life, the inside of this Denny's reminds me of it. read more

I was so happy to have stopped in today. I had the best experience with my food and staff. However it was the manager I see go above and beyond for one of his customer and she was disabled and she forgot her money in the car. The manager offered to pay for her and she said no thank you. However he asked if she would be ok with him going out and getting what she needed from the car and she allowed him to. My wife and I visited this location this morning and we have been to this one many times prior. The thing is, it has been quite a while since our last visit because I have been going through a bit of an episode with Sciatica and haven't been overly mobile in a couple of months. I don't wish to be a jerk as I have always been very complimentary to the staff and the owner in our previous visits and this visit won't deter me from returning in the future. Our food was good. Today it was a service issue that struck me as kind of odd. We walked in and were greeted in the customary friendly way. We encountered a familiar server, a really nice guy and he sat us at our favorite table and asked if we needed a little time to decide. Well of course we did. So he told us that he would be back in a few minutes. And we saw him wait on others in the back room but he never returned to our table. We encountered a woman who was very friendly and kind and she took our order. OK. A few minutes later a very nice young lady came to our table and she became our third attendant of the morning. The food was good, I had a Philly Cheese steak sandwich and my wife had the nachos and dessert. We know that Denny's isn't quite like visiting a real high quality establishment, it's a value oriented place that has been a favorite of ours for that very reason. Denny's was a regular stop since it was next door to the hotel. Since they are open 24x7, you can't go wrong when you want something to eat. The menu is varied and you can't go wrong when breakfast is offered all day! That means you can sleep in late, take your time getting up and dressed and STILL enjoy a nice hearty breakfast with plenty of coffee. The pancake puppies are not to bad either. It's good to have choices when you are staying at a hotel and this Denny's gave me plenty in the morning, the middle of the day, and late night. read more

The key to a good Denny's is finding one with good service & decent food. Most of the Denny's I have been too lately have not only had terrible service but terrible food & half the meals looked like some one smashed their face in them before they brought it to the table. This Denny's however wasn't that bad. Me & my friends came here late night on Black Wednesday. I ordered Biscuits & Gravy. The waitress brought my biscuits & gravy out & after I took a bite I asked her if the cook forgot to put it on the stove because it was ice cold. I then proceeded to ask the waitress if they could heat the food up & she took it back to the kitchen no problem. Usually after the food comes out cold you know the meal is going to be pretty bad but to my surprise the food came back nice & hot & was actually pretty good. My friends however did not enjoy their food as much. Some Denny's remind me of an upscale truck stop but this one was better than most. The best part of this restaurant was the service. Our waitress was very prompt & friendly & would make me want to eat here again. The food was not overly expensive about $8 a person. Overall I gave it 2 stars because I have had better from Denny's & my food came out cold but I would probably come here again at 4 in the morning for some food. read more

The main reason we dine here is because of its service. The employess at this Denny's location are super friendly and wear smiles on their faces! You won't find people like them at the Denny's in Palatine or Hoffman Estates, unfortunately. The food is OK. They also have no problem with substitutions! They make breakfast all day and have started making meals for the health conscious. They stil have the Superbird and the Moons Over My Hammy! This particular restaurant feels more like a diner. It's long and narrow with booths on either side of a wide aisle. The only thing missing is a counter with stools. Showed up at 2:00am there was 5 tables all who had food and the MANAGER said he couldn't take us. He also stated the COOK was DRUNK to other customers and then complained all the customers were drunk. When I pointed out over half the restaurant is empty and every table had food he said "well I only have 1 server so it's going to be a while" when I asked what a while was he shrugged his shoulders. I then said "that's fine I'll take my money somewhere else" he said "we only have 1 server" yes I noticed you had 1 server as she served me 2 days prior without any issues. I will now be taking my friend family business partners and peers else where to eat and have told them all about the horrible experience. Listen to me very carefully, their pancakes are the BOMB! Don't change what you're doing Denny's! The pancakes don't fall apart all over the place which is great, they're fluffy, and the chocolate chips are great because y'all aren't stingy with them. The rest of the food is amazing too. All the times I've been to Denny's, the customer service had been great. Especially during covid they always do their best to make the customer happy, this place is awesome. Very Bad experience. My baby and I came to have lunch with my husband who had only 30 mins for lunch time. We ordered food. 16 mins later the waitress came out and said that there were no meat ball left. I order other food right away. My husband's lunch time was over with no food on the table. He paid the food and came back to work. I waited and had the food to go. They saw me with my purse, 2 bags full of food, and carrying the baby who almost fell down But did not help me open the door to leave or hold the bags for me. I just want to start off by saying that I've been coming to this Denny's on and off for years. I've seen many employees (waitstaff & managers) come and go over the years, and I have to say as of my recent visits that the service has become exponentially better, especially in the evening. A story about my last visit, I usually have Jeff as my server, but this last time my server was Jenn. She is a very personable and down to earth person and made me feel like I was at home. The main thing that I noticed about the servers was that they all worked in unison, which was impressive to see. Everyone was either getting drinks, serving food, seating people, handling the register and also answering the phone. Even the manager, Deshon was helping the servers as well as interacting with customers. I even saw him going to the kitchen and helping the cook. They all worked like a well oiled machine. If I had to suggest anything it would be maybe having a host on Friday and Saturday nights to alleviate some of the stress on the wait staff. Also the recent remodeling has made the environment more cozy and comfortable (bathrooms need a little work though) I would definitely recommend this Denny's!!! I also would like to add that the few times I have placed to go orders, I noticed that if there was a host to take care of the to go orders it would decrease the wait time for customers picking up their orders on the weekend. read more

It's been a while since I've been to Denny's. It was past midnight, and I was craving breakfast food... plus we had coupons! It was freezing in there once we walked in. Figured they had the AC on near the entrance, but it was fine near the dining area. They had some new items on the menu. I had blueberry pancakes with eggs, bacons, hash brown. Everything was perfect except for the pancake. It was really dry and spongy. The blueberries inside were also dry. You would know a pancake is hot and fresh when you can just cut and scoop with your fork. But it was the opposite for me. Seems like they cooked it earlier and left the pancake out for a long time.
