When you walk in, you order your food, pay and get your table. Service wise it's 4/5 as they should explain where condiments are and where to get drinks etc. instead, they just hand you your receipt and cups and you'll have to go fill your cup, grab utensils and find the ketchup hidden under the counter with the garbage can. Also for the price of the burger it should come with fries imo. Food wise, it's 4/5 as it was mostly good but the two garlic bread we received with the meal was extremely chewy and had to really pull the bread apart. It should have a toasted crunch and easy to bite into. Ambiance, there is plenty of seating spread out and when we went there was a very large section with about 8-10 toddler, so I'd say it's good for families. read more

My husband has been wanting to check out this location after some fond old memories from the Skokie location and I work nearby so we popped in on a Tuesday night. The restaurant is new and it shows, it was super clean with sleek and attractive booth style and table seating. The space is a lot bigger then what it looks like from the outside. There is ample room to distance yourself from other parties which is nice. We placed our order, and we did not notice any issues with the staff or the service. After we sat down, we waited for our number to be called and ran back up to grab the food. The booth we chose and all the tables around it appeared very clean and very tidy. The food. The chicken gyro was piping hot and freshly made. Nonetheless, it was just OK, not very memorable or flavorful kind of salty and not something we would order again. However the Greek chicken was definitely so much better. The chicken was ample for us to share as two people. The chicken was moist, the skin was crispy and there was ample lemon sauce. It came with a side of Greek potatoes in the same lemon sauce which were flavorful and delicious. The dish also came with garlic bread which my husband enjoyed. All in all, I would check out more of the Greek specialties over trying another sandwich, but we will definitely be paying another visit sometime soon. read more

We come here often as the gyros are fantastic and it's a pretty good value compared to many other fast casual places. We usually order a gyros dinner, which is at least twice the amount of meat in a normal year. It's got a side dish and then lots of tomatoes, onions, and a large tzatziki sauce. We also get skewers. They have chicken, pork and I believe beef. They don't offer those as a side on the online menu. You have to call if you want those to go. They also offer sides of gyro meat if you are ordering a dinner. The only salad that we like and feel it is well worth the price is the no lettuce Village salad I believe it's called. Basically it's a really chunky Greek salad with no lettuce it even has anchovy fillets on top. If you don't like those, you can always ask them to hold them. The order and pickup process was easy and seamless. Food was ready as promised and pick up window was a convenient surprise. Unfortunately the food wasn't really very good. There wasn't much of any flavor to the falafel or the Greek sauce. The Philly cheesesteak also lacked flavor and was greasy. The onion rings were meh as well. This review is for a catering order pick up. Order was placed and paid for over the phone. The order contained 7 full trays and 1 half tray worth of food. We ordered full trays of chicken kabobs, Italian sausage, rice, Greek potatoes and Dengeos salad. A half tray of the falafel. The food was easy to order because the menu tells you exactly how much food you will get. The order was on time and nicely packed up, all the trays were loaded into boxes that were lined with a trash bag and then tied up. And good thing too because some of the trays had the juices in it which leaked out a bit. The staff was also friendly and helpful. The food was a success and everyone enjoyed it and it was a good amount for about 50 people. read more

Go to the Skokie location if you want decent food cause this location ain't it! Pork kabobs were burnt and very gristly. The cheese on my patty melt was not melted and the salads had brown lettuce. I was extremely disappointed with the quality and the cooking of the food. Avoid this location because whoever is working in the kitchen is not doing a very good job. read more

Today we went with my husband and son to Dengeos in Glenview to have dinner celebrate that our son is back playing b-ball The restaurant is absolutely impeccable, the ambiance is great the music fun. The register you see the beautiful Tiffany with those huge green eyes and the sweetest smile. She recommended to have of course we tell her that today we were very hungry ! So she said the combo !! Half ribs, half Greek chicken and of course our delicious Greek rice after all we are à Greek family that loves to eat well and with smiles all around. Well we had a feast. To close la pièce de resistance ( I'm the French in the family) Our son went to get desserts baklava, cheesecake baklava, chocolate for me! Everything was so good !! This is a solid establishment, the workers are all helpful and friendly. Their menu is expansive and has everything from pasta to Grecian chicken to spaghetti. The food is also pretty dang solid for the price and quickness. My go to order is the steak sandwich, but last night, I got the ribs and they were pretty great! Fall off the bone ribs, yes pls! It came w garlic bread, coleslaw, a pickle, and a baked potato. Also got a side of Greek rice, which was tasty. This spot is located in the same plaza as Jersey Mikes and Panda Express. I'm very disappointed with the quality of their Italian beef's. They were good when I first started ordering them. The taste , ingredients and quality have all gone down hill. I love beef so much I keep giving them another chance. Today was the final! I will not order them there anymore. First of all the beef was tough and all dried up. And I always order peppers on the side. My whole beef under the mozzarella cheese was literally covered with them. Not just a few hot peppers, more than 20 of them. Trying to pick them off and they already absorbed into the dried meat . I actually threw this beef away. Was terrible! read more

I wasn't sure about this place as I was in Chicago and unfamiliar with what is good. The reviews sounded positive so I went for it. The food is amazing. I wanted kabob but asked for recommendations from staff. I got a combo kabob. It was served with a very large salad of mostly lettuce but crisp and fresh, with some onions and tomatoes. The house vinaigrette was perfect. It came with a potato side. I chose the house potatoes cooked with olive oil and pan drippings. Next time definitely going for a baked potato. So delicious. I am not sure what to add, as I love the other two locations and have been to the one on Main 100X over the last 30+ years. Always a pleasure to see a successful business continue to grow! Food: As I have gotten older, can't really handle the frequency of gyros as I did in my younger days; so the order of choice has been the chicken kebob dinner. The last time I was in, not only was the food excellent, but the presentation on the plate was award worthy. Service: There really is no table service here, but the counter staff is very friendly and order was placed quickly and food served within an acceptable wait time. Overall: I am glad this location opened, as we have moved out of state and this one is closer when I come back on business and stay around O'hare. Yep, I make the drive from Rosemont to this location on day 1 of my trips back. This is how much I enjoy the food. My only wish is they would open a Phoenix location, like Portillos has done. So nice to see a location open in Glenview. I've always loved the Skokie Dengeos. Beautiful new location with the same high quality delicious food. The burgers here are delicious and I love the half Greek chicken. The gyros is always delicious. I do wish they would change the rice back to how it was back in the day. I love the Greek potatoes and the Greek salad is excellent. Service here is incredible.. Vivian at the front counter is a Joy always friendly and on point and all of the cashiers have been awesome! Gyros platter was only okay as the meat was overcooked and slightly dry. Portion sizes are average and prices are competitive. I was most appreciative of the outstanding service provided by the cashiers and the reasonable quick meal preparation. I placed an order for pick up and upon picking up my order at the designated pick up station is when time started to tick away faster and faster. I think I stood at the pick up counter for a good 30 seconds before the person realized that someone was standing in front of them. Whatever he was doing on his phone must have been more important than paying attention to a customer. I wasn't happy, I know it was only 30 seconds maybe it was 45 seconds but still, pay attention. I didn't want to return but the gyro was good. I returned the next day and it was dejavu all over again. The gyro is good and once again I returned. This time however it was a different story, someone was paying attention. The next time I crave a gyro I wouldn't hesitate to go back, and I'll just expect to wait a little longer when picking up my food. read more

I went to the Buffalo Grove IL Dundee RD location ages ago and it was notjing special. This Glenview IL location today. It was awseome. Fodd came almoat instantly. Not sure if that is goid or bad. Probably prepared ahead of tIme. But it was good. Not sure the frozen microwaved chicken patty I had at subway once. Tasted really good. And its pretty cheap for what you get. 12.99 for two decent size chicken breasts and a choice of fries, rice, or baked potatoe. And 2.50 for the fountain drink. So 16.46 including tax for everything. I've been to several dengeos locations and think they're all pretty comparable. I usually get a Greek salad with a side of gyros (can't go wrong with that!) but switched it up last time and tried a chicken pita. It was a warmed pita topped with Mayo, tomato, and lettuce and had a huge portion of char grilled chicken breast. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly and very juicy and was a nice change of pace compared to my usual gyros! read more

I grew up frequenting the Dengeos in Skokie and was thrilled to hear a new location was being opened in Glenview. This new location did not disappoint--it has the traditional Dengeos feel with a modern twist. The staff, as always, is extremely kind and attentive. Dengeos is a great go-to place for anyone looking for a restaurant in between fast-casual and formal sit-down. It's perfect for groups, as there is something for everybody, and everything is good and prices are affordable. Some of my long-time favorite menu items include the Philly steak sandwich, the Chicken caesar pita, and of course, the gyros. The burgers here are also great, and that's what I had this time around. You honestly can't go wrong at Dengeos. Everything is good and portion sizes are generous. All of it! Everyone else who dined with me agreed that their items were delicious (skirt steak dinner and a plain cheeseburger w/fries).
