This place is definitely a neighborhood spot. I saw people walk in and greeted with "Do you want the same?" This place is ran by a joyful husband and wife duo that is super friendly. I ordered my usual, but they didn't have a 2 hot dog special, so I just did the one hot dog special with an extra dog. My food was ready quickly. First the hot dog was a beefy bun length dog that filled the steamed seedless bun perfectly. The topping was all fresh and the peppers had a little heat. The fries are shoestring type fries they were hot and crispy. Shoestring fries aren't my favorite but were really good. This place had a counter to eat at and a couple of table and chairs. It's your typical Chicago style fare, anything from gyros to burgers, hot dogs and more. It's a small spot with maybe seating for about 10 people and you're greeted and treated kindly by the owners as soon as you walk in, bidded farewell when you leave. I didn't think it was the greatest ever but this will do the job if you can't make it to the city. There are new owners. I went to get a Chicago dog and fires. To my surprise, they were microwaving the Hot Dog and Bun. No hot dog stand microwaves a Vienna Beef hot dog. They used to have steamed hot dogs and buns. If I wanted a microwave hot dog, I could do that at home. They told me that I could have it microwaved or grilled. I have been going to Hot dog fast food places a long time and never seen that. It says to me that the new owners do not care about their quality or their customers. Mr. Kim would never have done that ever. When I asked them, they said microwaved or grilled. No further explanation or questions. Be careful going there. food preparation has changed. It was so disappointing. I wish them well, but I am not going to a fast-food hot dog stand for microwaved hot dogs. The neighborhood seems a little sketch and I probably wouldn't feel comfortable coming here at night alone. But I had a nearby meeting to attend and my coworker had never had a Chicago style dog, this place was the closest. It's hidden in a back corner of a strip mall. Not the cleanest place but seeing the number of people walking in and out, we knew we stumbled on good eats. My coworker got his Chicago dog, complete with neon green relish but alas, no poppy seed bun. I opted for an Italian beef sandwich with hot peppers. The Italian beef was thinly sliced, juicy and had so much flavor. The bun they use is crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. Despite me not eating grains, I cheated because the bread that soaked up the au jus from the beef was too much of a temptation. So worth the cheat! Fries were good too. I came here for lunch and ordered a polish Maxwell style with grilled onions and mustard and a chili cheese dog. It's a tiny place and decided to eat-in instead of take out. The owner is a very humble guy, made my food right away, and you can't tell he takes pride in what he does for his restaurant. As for the food, the polish was cooked perfectly, the grilled onions good of been cooked a tad bit more and just the perfect amount of mustard. I would probably order this again. The chili cheese dog felt it did lack flavor and was off color a bit. It didn't taste like it was made from scratch probably wouldn't order this again. Overall, I would probably come back again. It's very hidden, just off of Milwaukee in a strip mall, in the back corner, behind the old abandoned Denny's. Dog Walk has a pretty standard hot dog joint menu with an adorable, older Korean couple manning the register. They seemed to have quite a number of regulars coming in & out while we were there and the prices weren't bad at all. Ask for extra onions and giardaniera peppers on the side. You'll need a fork to eat some of the gyro meat cuz it's piled high. This little greasy treat will fill you up good. I witnessed an old Korean couple speak fluent Spanish for the first time here o_o their spanish is probably better than their English, actually. This is definitely a hole in the wall. Seating is limited to 1 table for 4 and a few seats on the counter along the wall. Google labeled it as a "korean" restaurant, but aside from the owners, this is 100% your average fast foods - burger, hot dogs, fried stuff, etc. Greasy spoon for sure. The menu is a bit limited. But you definitely need one of these in every neighborhood! The combo meals are under $10 and the pictures of the gyro definitely accurately reflect their size and the overflowing meat. It looked great, but I wish I could've picked it up and gotten whole bites. The meat was yummy, but I suspect MSG because of how thirsty I felt the rest of the afternoon. Not a fan of their cucumber sauce, which was really heavy compared to most other places. The burger was cheaper and better than McDonald's. Considering there's some fast food chains nearby on Milwaukee, I'd most definitely come here instead. Not sure how often I'd stop by here for lunch just because I don't enjoy the constant feeling of thirst/dry mouth for hours after a meal, but for a quick lunch when the craving hits, I'm glad to have it nearby. read more

A typical Chicago hot dog stand - which is become more of a rarity every day. Had two dogs, fries, and a drink. It was all good though I echo the comments that a poppy seed bun would have made it even more authentic. The fries were fresh and crispy and the dog is what I would have expected. My "everything no peppers" did not include a dash of celery salt, but that was no big deal. The tomatoes were fresh and the pickle spear was generous. The star was deducted because the place could have been cleaner. I had a late lunch and for the majority of my visit was the only customer. Despite this, the counters had not been wiped down from the previous customers. I would definitely try it again as places like that are more difficult to find, but I may also drive a bit further to Heffys for my next dog. read more

Every restaurant (except for Dingeos which is way on the other side of town) in the Northbrook, Wheeling, and Glenview area are not quite up to par for a really good gyros , this place is. All the other food they were cooking while we were there also looked really good, I am going to try the Filly Cheese Steak next time, it looked fantastic. Their portion size is just great, a whole perfect deal if I were to ask. Whenever I would go here, I would always order their Chicago dogs, burger, fries, Italian beef and sausage. Its a cheeseburger topped with Italian beef and barbecue sauce. Probably not very healthy, but tasty. Seating is limited and can go quickly.
