Found this place while Dashing. It's a quaint store front shop. It was loaded with some wrestling memorabilia but a lot more supporting local youth team. I ordered the two hot dog special that comes with fries and a drink, I was able to get one of my favorite drinks, red crème soda. Before I settled down my food was ready quickly. The hot dog was a natural casing dog which I loved. The hot dog had a good snap. It had all the trimmings of a Chicago Style hot dog and all of the trimmings was fresh. I love the fact that they wrap the dogs to stay warmer. The fries on the other hand were underwhelming. They were hot and crispy but lacked a good potato flavor. Overall, the only drawbacks were the fries and cost of the two hot dog special. I think it was one of the most expensive hot dog combos I had this year.

The food was great. I had a chopped cheese sandwich. I'm from Chicago and would definitely come back for another one. The service was great the guys behind the counter were very nice and polite. The place itself was very clean.

    Fries... delicious fries.

We took a drive out to visit the mother in law the weekend before Christmas and realized we were all starving a little around 1 pm. My husband worked in the place where Josh's is located back in the 80's... long before it became Josh's. We walked in and found it to be clean (I used the bathroom, which is how I judge how clean the place is... the bathroom was clean and smelled nice)... we ordered a couple dogs, and some fries. Everything was really good. The hubs and teens were happy with their lunch. Service was quick and done with a smile! While we were eating, an employee walked over to our table and said he realized he over-charged us and gave my husband change. We never would have known and appreciated his gesture. Next time we are out that way, we will have to grab some dogs!

Huge fan of Josh's in Northbrook. I've tried a couple things from their menu from the chicken gyro, spicy gyro, hotdog, the spicy polish and their chopped cheese, yes they have a chopped cheese here. What once I thought I could only get from New York, I now am able to get here and it honestly is me favorite thing on the menu. On top of that, being a huge Wrestling Fan, I love the pictures with all superstars the owner (I'm assuming) has met, a wrestling belt and a couple of wrestling figures. Is one of my go to spots for a quick eat in Northbrook but if you go on a weekday during lunch hours, expect it to be a bit busy! 5 all day!!!!

Perfect blend of the Chicago style on a warm poppyseed bun. Dog snapped with my biting in fries were super hot and with a bottled soda all for $11 including tax

    The sandwich.

If rating the hot dog meat by itself, five stars. Skin on, pops when you bite it, perfect. Unfortunately the hot dog as a sandwich is a complete fail here. Bun was hard and crusty, stale tasting. Not steamed, but instead just off a shelf. Ruined the enitre hot dog. Fries. As fries by themselves, were good. But are not thbrkind you expect at a hot dog place. Instead like McDonald's style. So, not really good match with hot dog. I grew in the area and happened to be back in town after twenty years. I remember this place for my entire childhood under the founder and original owner. This iteration under a new name is not even close. Although it's more expensive, I recommend Little Louie's in same town. Like here, that place too has changed ownership. But it retains all the good things it had under the original version.

I have no complaints. I ordered the beef tallow 10 piece wing which is automatically dry rub as seasoning - my fave! I upgraded to add in a fry and beverage. The wings and mild seasoning were great. The fries were hearty and not greasy at all. I would've asked for a more crisp fry but that's it. My only "complaint" would be to give two sauces for a 10 piece wing.

I find level 2 to be perfect, has the kick I enjoy, but not overly so and blow out my taste buds. We went when they had their $5 hot chicken sandwiches in honor of National Hot Chicken day. Not surprisingly, it was very busy. They still put out good food and EXCELLENT service. Everyone was so nice and they all handled the flow of people very well. I was so impressed. We drive past Grill House all the time, it has been in Northbrook for a long time (I just found out…read morethat it's been here for 9 years), however, this was the first time that we ever visited, and I am happy that we finally did! My husband and I wanted a quick and good dinner one Sunday recently, and we picked Grill House after I read some good reviews on Yelp.  Although it's a casual, fast-food-style restaurant, the menu is surprisingly extensive, with a wide variety of healthy Greek dishes. It was definitely helpful to look over their menu online before we visited, because the menu board inside could be a bit overwhelming.  I guess I still looked quite confused when I saw 2 kiosks in front of the ordering counter.  A staff behind the counter offered to help, and I just ordered directly with him.  Later of the evening I discovered that he's the friendly owner Gus. After placing our order at the counter, we were given a table number, and our food was delivered promptly.  I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki Plate ($17.50 at the time, it's now listed online for $18), while my husband ordered a Filet Mignon Souvlaki Plate ($25.50).  Each souvlaki plate included a soup or salad, rice and potato (1 piece), a side of veggies, and pita bread in a paper bag.  It was a generous amount of food! We both chose the lentil soup, which was served piping hot in a nice ceramic bowl with a lid. It was flavorful and comforting. My chicken souvlaki was tender and juicy, never dry, and both the rice and potato were delicious. We were both impressed with the quality and value of the meal. I ordered a lemonade, which is considered a fountain drink ($4.00) and comes with free refills, though I couldn't even finish my first glass. My husband would have ordered a glass of wine if we hadn't had plans afterward, so we were happy to see that Grill House also serves beer and wine for a future visit. The service was another highlight. Everyone was warm and welcoming; a special shout-out to Kevin, who was very attentive and checked in on us several times.  When I was taking photos around the restaurant, the owner Gus greeted me again, which was a nice personal touch. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and inviting. There's also a pleasant patio for those who prefer to dine outdoors. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from their extensive menu.  I am glad that we finally gave Grill House a try!

The service was great they were checking on us and following up on everything and very attentive. Now let's go to the food my sister recommended the shank I opted for the pork tank I think they also have a lamp one but the pork one was really good and super tender you don't even need a knife for it you just cut it with your fork or spoon in the meat comes off the bones right away. The pasta we ordered was also good came with the sausage it was the sausage rigatoni with sausage. My sister recommended the crispy brussel sprouts she said it was really good but we opted to go for the octopus I feel like the octopus was over seasoned a bit but it was cooked perfectly really tender. Will definitely be coming back to this place to try more stuff on their menu. Happy eating!

However, as…read morethe day approached, the weather forecast consistently called for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and possible flash flooding. We decided it was not a good idea to drive to an unfamiliar area in inclement weather and canceled the reservation on Friday night. We were fortunate that Social Inn is close by and is a great restaurant for celebratory dining. Best of all, they still had reservation available. As it turned out, it was just light rain the entire evening on Father's Day, but we didn't regret the change at all. Although the restaurant was not filled to capacity, it was bustling with many families celebrating Father's Day, creating a festive vibe. It's the first time that we met the owner, Daniella, who's so warm and welcoming. She invited us to choose from available tables in three different dining areas. We selected the table right by the lounge that had a large TV, homey décor, couch and cocktail table. It was also right by the big window overlooking the small and charming front patio. Our server, Chis, was very friendly, pleasant, and attentive. I ordered a Lemonade ($3), my husband and daughter each enjoyed a glass of Mer Soliel Reserve Chardonnay (2 for $26). We shared a Grilled Octopus ($22) which was cooked to perfection. The warm, lightly charred pita points paired well with the creamy and tasty beet hummus. I had a Slow Roasted Lamb Shank ($39) which was tender and full of flavors. It was a very generous portion that I shared a big piece with my husband; and still had leftovers to take home. It made a delicious lamb sandwich for my next lunch. My husband liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) so much last time that he ordered it again. Our daughter enjoyed her order of Rigatoni Sausage ($23), another generously portioned dish that she couldn't quite finish. By the end of the meal, we were too full for individual desserts, so we shared a Crème Brûlée ($8), which was the perfect sweet ending. All in all, it was a wonderful dinner. With consistent delicious dishes, warm hospitality, comfortable seating, and a convenient location, we will definitely be back again.

Then, we discovered that the McDonald's which had been on this location for decades had permanently closed! What did we do? We visited the Love's Yogurt right next to it instead. The yogurt store was empty at this off-peak time. My husband struck a conversation with Henry, who had been the owner of the store for 18 years. He was very friendly and said that Love's had opened at this location for 38 years! It was the first time that we ever visited! Why? Because when there was a McDonald's right next to a yogurt shop, we chose McDonald's, haha. I looked at their menu board and saw smoothies, and I thought they were $6.50 each. I ordered a Henry's Special Smoothie which included mango, pineapple, coconut with pineapple juice and Love's French Vanilla Yogurt. My husband ordered a small vanilla yogurt for $4.05. The receipt came up to $13.77, with no itemization, just one total amount. Then I politely asked Henry, and found out that Henry's Special was $8.50. Henry's Special did not have a price on the small smoothie menu, and it was not on the wall menu board. When I looked at the picture that I took of the menu board at home, I noticed that all the other smoothies seemed to be originally $6.50, but at some points in time the prices were manually changed with an 8 written over 6, and the one on the top line still looked like a 6 to me from a distance. Forgive my less than perfect vision. I found that kind of funny. Before Henry went inside to prepare my smoothie, he was brushing away some debris on the countertop with his bare hands. I did not see him wearing gloves the entire time. Well, like a Chinese saying, "if you don't see it, just consider it being clean", haha. The Henry's Special was pretty good. It's creamy, sweet but not too sweet, and every sip had coconut bits in it. I just wish that the mango flavor could be a little stronger. Husband said that his yogurt was standard. It was a surprise that they also sell other savory items such as soups, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. The shop was clean and rather nostalgic looking. Henry said that McDonald's next door closed because the landlord increased their rent 2 to 3 folds. He said that they still have 20 months left on their lease, and hope that the rent would not increase too much. Otherwise, he would have to retire too. I hope not.

The milkshakes got a thumbs up from the kids. It's all served in really basic styrofoam cups, so hopefully eventually they can become more eco-friendly. The store offers a 10% discount for local high school area students so that is definitely nice that they are open to serving young people in the community.
