great great pizza, every time. fine ingredients, lots of variety, kind service. a favorite for a late lunch or takeout. how lucky we are to have them. read more

The Margherita STG is a staple- easy simple choice made to perfection. Tartufo white with truffle gorgonzola and mozzarella also a go to. In going with my vegetarianism the rughetta salad or wood roasted vegetables are enough for a meal on many instances. I've been early meeting friends here a few times and perched at the long bar with a glass of red and the giant brick oven at my back. We did glance a chef with cigar puffing away mid meal, but it was charming? read more

Place is very cute. The pizza is alright. It would be really good if they would stop burning the bottom. I went three times but the story is the same. Other food is good! Nice staff as well ;) read more

I love this place. First of all, they remember me and act like it's a special occasion when I return--just the kind of feeling you want to have for a pizza joint in Brooklyn. But this one is special: because, for the most part, I can't eat pizza anymore. Since having to go gluten-free two years ago (I'm one step away from Celiac disease--) I have adopted a very Paleo diet....Most substitute foods are complete crap, so I eat a salad for dinner every night at home, and--for the most part--stick to meat and potatoes when dining out. But Dellarocco's has a gluten-free crust that is truly delicious! I feel like a normal gal here and can get my "comfort food on." Whether on a warm spring evening or in the depths of winter, Dellarocco's is delish! read more

If you're looking for great pizza in Brooklyn Heights look no further than Dellarocco. The space is cool and comfortable, and the ambience is friendly and hip. We had the Capricciosa and the Tartufata which were both fabulous creations. Definitely going back. read more

My family and I were on vacation to Manhattan and decided to take the R train to Brooklyn and found the pizza shop Dellarocco's. As soon as we came in we were welcomed, and the food was outstanding at a reasonable price. But what made our visit most rememberable was our host Angie, she went out of her way to make us feel at home. If you want great pizza at a reasonable with outstanding service, you must stop by Dellaracco's. read more

Yes there was a line to get in but it went by quickly and the pizza was fabulous! Worth the wait !

Having just completed a lovely pizza tour of the neighborhood, I can say with certainty that this pizza is amazing. Had the capricciosa and the crust was superb, charred and chewy in all the right places. The toppings only complemented the crust and overall, the pizza was delicious and well-priced. A highly recommended neighborhood gem. read more

I made a negative remark about automatically adding gratuity to the check of a 4 person table. The owner (mr Dellarocco) through Yelp reacted to me with apologies. A mistake had been made, under 6 persons gratuity should not be added automatically. Very attentive, apologies accepted. Mr Dellarocco offered next time free dessert when we are in again. Now that's taking customer feedback seriously. Thank you and well done. read more

New pizza place nearby! Great slice - I had the Dellarocco and it was delicious. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service - great go-to spot for after work dinner. And they deliver if you're too lazy. Handful of beers on tap is a great addition. read more

Wonderful food. Really! I don't think it's necessarily a "foodie" place but for the rest of us, every dish and every pizza I've had there has been delicious. The menu is medium/small which is a good thing because they don't try to make everything: they just try to make everything very well! The price point is perfect. My one complaint and I actually think this is preventing them from being a destination restaurant: The absolute WORST lighting. The place is totally uninviting from the outside; you could easily walk by without seeing it. If you do see it, it's lit like a down-and-out bodega. once inside, you wonder why it's so dim, but not in a warm flattering way but in a: "we're losing business and closing soon" way. I've never been in a place with creepier, weirder, more unpleasant lighting! Fix it you guys! Install 6 sconces on the side walls. Your light is on the blue side; designers know it should be in the red/orange/amber family. Put in some orange or amber floor lamps. It's otherwise a great restaurant. read more

Atmosphere is cozy, service is wonderful, food is always delicious! Meatballs are heaven!

Was initially planning on eating at Fornino close by on Pier 6 because their Yelp page said they were open.. They were not. Grr..Their website says each locations specific hours but they should clear that up on Yelp too, right? Luckily it was a nice day by the water. :D Well, to our rescue, Dellaroccos was a nice alternative. Bright, clean, & friendly. Great pizza (every option sounded amazing) & loved the refreshing Avocado salad. It was a nice lunch alternative to our main plan of sitting outside on Fornino rooftop because really our main focus was just eating good PIZZUHH! read more

The pizzas are exquisite and the ambience is wonderful. It's exactly what you want and expect from a small pizza shop - great food all around. Also, had a very friendly bartender who gave great recommendations and she clearly knew her stuff! read more

Really love the pizza here, but when the person at the front forgets to bring your pizza after waiting 35 mins for takeout outside the front door... Makes you question the service. read more

Perfect neighborhood pizza joint. The Sicialana is sublime. Great staff. Yelp making me write more words to count as a review.

We stopped here after touring NYLS dorm because they had gluten free crust and vegan cheese. One person in our party had the regular crust with meatballs. Great service and the pies were fantastic. Pizzas came piping hot and were flavored authentically- fresh basil, EVOO, and toppings were spot on. Brick oven crust as it should be, crispy on the outside but still tender. Only one minor comment, wish there was a bit less burnt spots on crust. I had black spots on my fingers. Regardless, I could eat this everyday. read more

The location, the service, and in terms of sanitary this place is great; however, the portion of foods like pizza or meetbals compared to the price is very small. You are goimg to pay 20$ but you may still get out of the restaurant hungry. read more

Very good. The namesake pizza was awsome. The margarita a bit underdone. The meatballs were some of the best I ever had -- sauce is top notch. read more

The crusts and the mozzarella are really good here and the wood oven is awesome. Staff very friendly and attentive. We would be real regulars if the choice was slightly bigger. Only ONE (non-white and non-Calzone) pizza with meat (cooked ham...) is really too limited. No salame, no tuna or any other fish, no artichoke nor capers. A second star is lost because they automatically add 18 percent gratuity to the bill, which I hate for a table of four. read more

Pizza was good but not the best I've ever had - there are so many great places in the nabe, so have to say if it was somewhere else I'd be raving! I like Sottacasa and Sosta - both on Atlantic for gourmet pizza. Salad was good and fresh. Of course Grimaldi's down the hill and a few others as well. Service - lousy. I've waitressed plenty in my life and have a lot of tolerance for meh service but I really CANNOT stand when a waitress come over and says "Ready"? (particularly when I was in the bathroom and was just sitting down, and hadn't had 10 secs to look at the menu) No hello, no what can I get you to drink, nothing. The place was quiet and it wasn't late, so there was no excuse for crap service. Also it's kind of a lousy layout. read more

All I have to say is, NEVER AGAIN!!! I'm paying way too much money just to get a soggy greasy pizza with the toppings practically falling off. read more

Delicious and quick to order. Crust is perfectly baked. Service is very friendly and prices are reasonable. Only downside is the lack of a delivery option. read more

Great pizza and a really clean and nicely coordinated environment. The Graeco pizza is wonderful and fresh and the pizza equally delicious. I would definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in Brooklyn heights on Montague! read more

Ok. Not great. Can someone explain to me why it's so hard to get decent takeout in this affluent neighborhood? You'd think...

Dellarocco's is a great pizza place with a pleasant ambiance and delicious pizza. Finding good gluten-free places is a difficult task even in Brooklyn and NYC. Finding the spot harkens me back to the days when I was not on a gluten-free diet. You can barely taste the difference in a gluten-free pizza compared to a non-gluten free pizza! My non-gluten free husband even thinks the gluten free pizza is outstanding. The margarita simple yet divine is a great choice for those that want a great no frills option. It's in a great area of Brooklyn heights in which you can look around and shop while you wait for a seat. Definitely worth trying for all those GF-ers out there! read more

One the expensive side for Pizza and portions are small. Food is overall good. Fresh ingredients and nice selection. Place is also pleasant. Please note if you order a calzone or meatballs ask for sauce - and extra sauce. They give the smallest amount - and if you order delivery ask for two or three containers of sauce - they are very small. Which doesn't make sense considering it cost very little to make a red sauce. read more

Generally really love this pizza but tonight I think they served me a pizza that had been laying around for a bit. Why? It was ready before I could take off my coat to have a beer and it was already cold and soggy after walking home a block. Too bad. Lost a customer. read more

Got a gluten free and vegan pizza. I was initially not going to get vegan cheese on the pizza because I usually dislike the flavor but the lovely waitress let me taste their vegan cheese before putting it on the pizza and I was so happily surprised. Delivery was quite speedy but the pizza was ice cold- something you should expect on a rainy December day if you don't insulate the box.

If you're looking for friendly, warm atmosphere and delicious Neapolitan style pizza, don't even mess around. This staff and kitchen consistently earns show biz tips from me. Bonus level: become a regular and stop receiving a menu when you sit down. You'll have it memorized. Go and eat. read more

We will be back! The service is attentive but not overbearing and the pizza is great! My husband and I split the Arrabiata (sp?) pizza and a fabulous lemony Arugula Salad. I hope that this place succeeds and that they are up and running with delivery too. Eating in the restaurant is pleasant though - pretty and tasteful decor. read more

Best Choice!!! I have visited this restaurant several times, each experience has been better then the last and I just enjoy the luxury of having a delicious restaurant close to my house. When you visit don't be afraid, try a new type of pizza or dish, I have always been pleasantly surprised. Its not like anything else in the neighborhood. Finally, you can go to a place with a nice, clean, lively atmosphere where you can share a pizza and a drink with some friends. On those cold nights you can have it delivered and be sure that you will receive the best service as well. Note*****Most of the pizza sizes are meant to be for personal servings or shared max. by two ppl. read more

We decided to try Dellarocco's for dinner as it is a new addition to our neighborhood. How can you go wrong with pizza? We ordered a Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella and an avocado salad. The order came in a timely manner (about 30 or so minutes) and, was correct (I had made a change to the salad). However, that's where the positive review stops. The salad, $9, consisted of a few pieces of spinach, hardly any avocado, and some onions and four orange slices. I know this is Brooklyn Heights and prices are high, but at least serve quality food and give us a salad, not just what looked like some leftover spinach. Such a disappointment. It looked like someone ate most of the salad and left what they didn't want. It wasn't even enough to split between two people. Then the pizza, $15, cold and a mess. Honestly, the pizza was nothing to write home about and certainly was not worth $15. No flavor and mushy. The cheese was falling off, the crust was burnt, it was gross. Unfortunately, we went to get a second dinner. At least we tried it, but will we order again? Absolutely not. read more

So fabulous! The food was divine. With an amazing arugula salad, eggplant parm appetizer, and prosciutto and arugula pizza my two friends and I were content! That was perfect for a midsize lunch and the location and ambiance was so cute. Would recommend to anyone coming to new york read more

An excellent place with excellent food and first rate, friendly service. Needing to take a break from a fairly long walk, we found Dellarocco's of Brooklyn. Unlike some of the other reviewers, we hadn't heard of it at all. There was a nice vibe immediately upon walking in. Sort of trendy but balanced with a family friendly feel. Our waitress was all smiles, enthusiastic and efficient. The restaurant was highly staffed for that time of day, which was late afternoon. When we arrived, there were only a few tables occupied but by the time we left, it was one hundred percent full. The food was far above what I was expecting. We started off with the Meatballs Napoletane and the Bresaola salad. The meatballs were four small homemade style meatballs. The rich but delicate marinara let the flavor of the meatballs come right through. The Brasaola sald was a delight. Thinly sliced braseola, shaved slices of a well made parmigiano and arugula that was lightly dressed in a gentle lemon vinaigrette. The pizza was close to perfect. Our first was the Arrabbiata that had hot soppressata as one of the ingredients. You could taste the quality and freshness of the tomato through the other spicy flavors. It could have been just a tad hotter for me but that's not a complaint whatsoever. The second pizza was a clam pie and was surprisingly good. High in clam flavor and enhanced with the freshness added by the cherry tomatoes and parsley. The ONLY thing I would improve upon would be that these particular pies would have benefited from a slightly more defined crunch in the crust. ONLY Slightly. I am sure that when I get there again, if I ask for that, I will get it. The wine selection and the beers on tap are thoughtfully chosen and appropriate. The day was hot and I had a superb chilled rose' that I am still thinking about. I look forward to finding a reason to get back to that neighborhood soon, just knowing I would be able to eat there again. read more

Phenomenal! Just ordered a gluten- free pizza from them for the first time, having passed by the shop many times. Funny that we can get gluten- free pizza in the hood, but no gluten free beer for blocks. Sadly, Dellarocco's says they can't deliver beer....really happy to find such sophisticated gluten free nearby. And I look forward to having a meal there with friends. read more
