Good, cheap sandos with friendly service. Big selection of snacks and drinks as well. There are only so many of these spots left in big cities; it's truly a place to cherish. It doesn't try hard on stuff that doesn't matter to focus on getting you tasty food quickly. One of my favorite sandwich shops in the city. They have a great breakfast menu which includes various cafe items as well as an extensive lunch menu. I live and work extremely close Deli-Cut Subs and am so happy I found this place. Their sandwiches are very tasty and they don't skimp on the toppings. To top it off their prices are still extremely reasonable especially considering everything in this area has gone up. I can still go to get a good lunch at a good inexpensive price. Came here after discovering them online. They make some great old-school sandwiches. I got an Italian and a roast beef. All the toppings are very fresh, the meats they use are also good. The bread is fantastic and I'm guessing is either baked on premises or baked specifically for them. Overall, I have nothing but nice things to say. These were the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time, if not ever. We arrived for our passport appointment a bit early and were starved, I read there was a deli in the building, but didn't expect much. We ordered a couple of 6" sandwiches that were a bargain at $6.99 each. Truly, these were more like 8" of fresh baked bread that was so soft and warm and delicious. The turkey was fresh, thin sliced, the lettuce was fresh and crispy. Everything was amazing. I hade zero complaints. The staff was so kind and welcoming. They were fast and efficient. This is not a fusion sandwich place, they aren't selling anything wacky or crazy or really out of the ordinary, and they aren't remotely famous. So normally when traveling, I wouldn't bother with just a regular sandwich place - but I needed a place near the train station I could pick up lunch to eat on the train, that would still be good a couple hours later when we would want to eat them, so I figured sandwiches were perfect for that. Looked up sandwiches near the train station on yelp, and this place came up. It really was pretty much exactly what I expected: sandwiches that were nothing out of the ordinary in terms of fillings, but absolutely fresh, high quality bread, meats, cheese and veggies, and totally stuffed to the gills, not stingy at all like Subway or that sort of lame sandwich shop. Just a really good sandwich. And yes, they are also huge: a large is $9, but unless you are absolutely *insanely* hungry, that large will serve two people. I know, because I got a large, split it with my wife, and we both agreed that half a sandwich was a reasonable amount of sandwich for lunch. I also have to give them props that they were both willing and completely capable of fulfilling my weird topping request, since it was very obviously a sandwich being split between two people (same meat and cheese, but I loathe tomato, and my wife hates iceberg lettuce and doesn't like hot peppers - they got both halves perfectly.) They do make everything fresh, so it's a few minutes between ordering and getting your sandwich, but that was totally fine. Their iced coffee is just decent, though. It was perfectly enjoyable, for a good price (3 bucks, I think), you're just surrounded by amazing coffee everywhere, so I should've held out (I just really wanted a coffee at that point. There was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't amazing like their sandwiches.) read more

Deli-Cut Subs is the best kept sandwich secret of lower downtown. Absolutely no one should be buying sandwiches elsewhere with this place nearby. Their sandwiches are made of delicious fresh bread generously packed with meat and vegetables, and the variety of sandwiches available is comparable or superior to any major sandwich chain. My personal favorite is the #4 (turkey, bacon, pesto) and I sometimes pick up a loaf of their banana bread, which is so good it should be marketed in its own gourmet store. The real kicker with this place is the price. Earlier reviews list the price as $3.99 for the 6-inch+chips+drink combo. That was true until about two months ago but the price is now $4.99 ($5.45 after tax) which is still ridiculously low for the store's location and quality. A comparable meal at a mainstream sandwich shop would cost $8+. I eat there at least twice a week. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. P.S. The staff are the owners and they're great. This is quite the quick little sub joint. Just about every time I've gone in there I wait in a line. It's pretty quick and I've never waited more than a couple minutes for a freshly made sub. I enjoy the daily special, it's not something regularly on the menu. Not to mention all the snacks and candy bars line the shelves. Only thing I can think of that might be a turn off for someone would be bacon, most days I come out of there smelling strongly of bacon. This place is in a great spot! Great, great sandwiches (like the other chain you might know, but with 10x fresher everything, nice people, homemade soup, okay, it's nothing like it). Andy, the owner, is awesome. Always a free sample of something that he's working on. Rotisserie Chicken soup all over the place. Banana bread, some of the best you might have ever tasted. Red AND banana peppers on your turkey with real bacon?!? Yes please! The best part, you're looking at a whopping $5.50 for the most filling lunch you can imagine, a six-inch (oh my gosh, I can't even imagine eating a foot) sub of your choice, can of soda or what have you, and chips (including delicious veggie chips!). You can get a delicious quality sandwich, chips, and a 12 oz soda for $5 (if you pay cash, they add a dollar if you pay card). They sell bananas and oranges for .25 - .35 also. I had some sort of bbq sandwich and the sauce was awesome and so were the sweet pickles. We aren't talking gourmet or even honey hole, but its tastier than subway or quiznos and probably along the lines of the baguette box. The service is fast, the construct the subs in front of you, and super friendly. The people here love talking to their customers and I find them enjoyable to talk to. My favorite lunch spot downtown. Great food and a great deal. Note, this is different than "good food...for the price"...this is VERY GOOD...AND...CHEAP! An amazing sandwich, bag of chips (about 100 types to choose from) and a can of soda for $5. Tack on a banana or orange for $0.25. How can you go wrong? Sandwiches...quality meats, 15 types of cheese to choose from (yes, I counted once), they'll add a mound of bacon onto anything for free, they're generous with the fresh veggies and other toppings, 3 - 4 types of bread that they bake in-house...how can you go wrong? On occasion make special meats. Ask if they have any specials...they don't post them. The roast pork is fantastic! Fresh soup daily. If they ever have the chicken curry soup...GET IT, probably the best soup I've ever had. Banana bread...I used to think that banana bread was pretty much banana bread. First off, I have to say, the family that owns and runs Deli-Cut are great. I've only been in a couple of times, but I enjoy my interactions with all of them. The food - I came in an got a sandwich, but have tasted their soups a couple of times. I really love their soups. They so flavorful. The sandwich, Italian sub, was good. I was hoping they had the pot roast sandwich my co-worker had about a week ago, but it was different this week. Anyway, the Italian sub was pretty standard. The vinaigrette dressing I added was really good. But for sure, have the soup every time. I'm glad this gem is close to my office. I'm sad I haven't come here sooner since I've been working two blocks away for about 5 years (ah!). I'll be back for more soup! read more

DELI CUT SUBS...the best kept secret of the Pioneer Square lunch crowd. $3.99 for ANY 6-inch sub (like, even the special ones like southwestern chicken with bacon and all of those add ons that SUBWAY will charge you extra for), PLUS a pop, PLUS a bag of chips...how do these guys make any money?? They actually OFFER to put on extra stuff free of charge...like I just wanted turkey and they were like "how about adding bacon, ham, pepperjack cheese, and bbq sauce? good combo!" Wow... PLUS, the staff are friendly and sometimes offer samples of odd things..like one time the guy just handed me a sample of some sort of marinated chicken for some reason. Hey, but I'm not complaining. Ever since discovering Deli-Cut, I have been skipping right past my old steady boyfriend Jimmy Johns, and coming here instead. The first time I came, I had their special deal which was $4.50 for a sandwich, chips, and a drink. Most other days it has been $5.50 for the combo. The heated subs are really tasty. I would recommend against the tuna since it was bland, dry, and oddly sweet. They have some seating and accept credit cards. The selection of chips and bottled drinks is expansive. Pepsi and Coke products are vended here--including the elusive, cherry coke zero. You can also get Funyons, Spicy Cheetos, Sun Chips, and just about everything else here. read more
