Big microbrewery with lots of ambiance and wood surfaces. A place where business bros go after work to watch basketball, but maybe not baseball. The food was tasty and inventive enough (i.e. "egg on a burger" inventive) but overpriced along with the drinks. But drinks now-a- days can't be inventive AND cheap, can they? I ordered a $13 hamburger here. It was made of two rather charred 8 oz patties on a buttery bun that couldn't hold it. The bun tasted great but it damn near evaporated after holding my burger for a minute because the burger was so substantial and the bun couldn't hold up to it. The burger also came with some cheese sauce on it which was tasty but there was nothing exceptional about this $13 hamburger. The fries were good, but again, not exceptional. My guest ordered the margareta pizza and it was another "meh." It wasn't bad but the tomato slices were super thick and they were pink, not red. the amount of garlic on this pizza was nice though. Service was pretty lousy. The waiter didn't check in on us and I had to wait a long time for my one free soda refill because he kept zooming by without even glancing at our table to see I was empty. By the way, what's up with the limit on 1 soda refill? Lame. Also, when I did get my refill, I got the same gross glass that had food all over it because my burger was so mess. NOT FORGIVABLE!! Eeew! My husband and I held our wedding reception at the Delafield Brewhaus. When we were first considering the Brewhaus as a reception hall, we were introduced to Trish, who is the Banquet Director. She couldn't have been nicer and more professional. Unfortunately, there was another bride who was indecisive about holding her wedding reception there on the same date. Trish was kind enough to keep us in the loop throughout the whole process. In the end the other bride backed out and we were lucky enough to book the Brewhaus. Trish walked us through everything, and we settled on a main meal with sides. Before we even picked the meal, they gave us an option to do a 'sample' meal and sides, to try out beforehand. It came down to the chicken risotto and barbecue ribs - both of which were fantastic. We had several guests come up to us later on and rave about how wonderful the food was. The chef did a great job as well. We had two members of our wedding party with food allergies. The chef was able to create a special plate for them. Sensational! We also had their craft beers served at the reception, along with one domestic on tap, and everyone enjoyed them. We were surprised at how reasonable everything was. Everything about our reception was handled perfectly. I couldn't have been happier with the way things were done by the Brewhaus. The staff was courteous and professional, and I didn't hear one complaint about the day. In terms of their everyday food, we have eaten there a few times and always walk away full and happy. I enjoy their turkey club sandwich, which is big and more than enough for dinner (I usually wind up taking half of it home). I also like sampling their craft beers (actually, try out the sampler - you can get 7 of their beers to try at once - it's sometimes hard to choose!) If you like any of them, you can purchase a growler and it's good to use on future fill-ups (at a discount, of course). read more

The Delafield Brewhaus befits its location off of the Interstate in a built-up commercial stretch around Hwy 83. Normally I would not be one to know much of anything relating to a brew-pub in the outer suburbs of Milwaukee, as I don't find myself this way all that often, and when I do pull off I-94 it is usually to get gas. Yet somehow I've become a semi-regular patron of the Delafield Brewhaus. The food is very well prepared and the beer is quite good. Now, if this place was in Madison it would suffer in comparison to the Great Dane or Ale Asylum in terms of the beer and the atmosphere, but for Delafield this place is exceptional. A place like this can suffer from a "best in the suburbs" attitude and come off as unfriendly, but I've never seen this with the Delafield Brewhaus. I remember the first time that I stopped. A friend and I were heading to Milwaukee for a concert and we had both seen the Brewhaus from the Interstate before. We had time to spare so we pulled off and managed to find our way from Hwy 83 to the brew-pub. It's a bit difficult, since you have to wind around a lot of commercial buildings. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were all quite friendly, recommending different varieties and turning the channel to the UW basketball game. I remember getting a nitro-tapped porter that was so silky smooth that I still talk about the experience today. It was certainly the best nitro beer I've tried so far. I made it a point to stop back next time and try the food. It took a couple of months but I did find my way back to Delafield, this time with my parents. We stopped for a late lunch on the weekend, getting a nicely secluded table away from the bar and enjoying a few hefe weizens. The Cuban sandwich here is excellent, my father really enjoyed his Greek salad and my mother had a baked turkey sandwich that looked pretty tasty. It was a really laid-back relaxing lunch and the waitstaff were all friendly. I've stopped several times now on my various trips to the Milwaukee area and I can't say I've had a bad experience. Once I came through fairly late a night and stopped to get a sandwich. The late night menu is more pizza-based but I got a nice ham & swiss on rye that paired very well with the pale that had been on special. Recently I've gone to two trade association luncheons held at the Delafield Brewhaus. I had never noticed before but there is a banquet hall in the lower level of the building. It's set up nicely, with an entrance from the parking lot and a bar in the back. Since it was a trade association meeting, and more importantly I was there with my boss, I didn't stick around for the "social hour" but the food served at both occasions was definitely worth the trip. I'll never be a regular at the Delafield Brewhaus because I'm never going to regularly be in Delafield. However I'll make a point to stop by on the occasions that I am in the area. read more

Delafield Brewhaus hosted my wedding rehearsal dinner about a month ago. They were one of our best vendors by far! The chef threw in a complimentary antipasto tray for our dinner, and the bartender gave us great service. The estimate we received for our dinner was higher than the actual price, which was a nice surprise. Good food and great service. One of the highlights of my wedding weekend! This is really late for a review. I was looking at my wedding pictures and was reminded of the service I received. This is purely about customer service. We had a great wedding but when we had problems with our wedding cake, the servers from the brewhaus decided to intercede and offer their opinions. Our wedding cake was falling apart and had major flaws. First, you would only know this if you were the people who paid and ordered it. Second, I do not trust the opinions of people who may have a different eye for style. The baker actually asked them and they said there was nothing wrong. As servers who work for the brewhaus they had no business interceding. My cake was awful but in their opinion it was fine. Every time I think about it, my angry feelings return. The funny part is that the banquet manager never apologized for her servers overstepping their boundary. And keep in mind no one saw the picture of the cake, except my husband and I. My boyfriend and I are in town from Texas and we were looking for a local brewery for some decent beer and food. Unfortunately for us we were overall displeased with Delafield Brewpub. Boyfriend got the chicken parm, which was bland, with tough chicken, and could've been made from a box. He was drinking the Amber Ale, which was also fairly generic. Although I must say we are used to craft brews from Michigan, so we might just have high expectations. I had the Brew Haus burger, which was basic. I'd put Texas Whataburger (which is fast food by the way) as far more flavorful and delightful. Also, we shared the cheesecurds for an appetizer, which were also fast food quality at best. Famous for: - Beer I've Tried (My rating out of 10) - Southwest Chicken Wrap (5/10) I went here for lunch, and I think the reviews for this place are about right. It's got a lot of flair on the outside, but really isn't all that. It looks cool with the brewery on the inside. I didn't get to try their beers, but I just had their lunch wrap. What can I say, it's a wrap? There was nothing really special about it because it was pretty much forgettable. If I was hungry, I'd come back, but the fries tasted like Grocery store oven baked fries, nicely seasoned though. The Southwestern Wrap has some very delicious sounding ingredients, this is the menu item: Spicy buffalo grilled chicken, pepperjack, red onions, tomatoes, shredded lettuce, black beans and corn. Combined with our Haus' recipe southwest ranch dressing. Rolled up inside a jalapeno herb wrap. You know what's funny? Only now did I see that it was buffalo "GRILLED" chicken. No wonder I tasted no buffalo sauce! Believe it or not, amidst the southwest ranch and veggies, I could still taste that the chicken was dry. Had the chicken been by itself, buffalo grilled or not, I'm sure it would have barely been edible. If there were jalapenos in the wrap, I missed it. The leader of this dish is most certainly the southwest ranch, and really, how can you not like ranch? Very run of the mill place. Price is pretty good. That wrap and fries all cost $8.25. Again, since it was lunch, I couldn't try the beer, so I guess this review is pretty useless. The takeaway from this, though, is that unless I'm going to try the beer for the first time, I have no reason to go back. I don't even live around here! read more

My husband and I were here recently on a Saturday night to meet a friend for dinner. The restaurant itself is very spacious, and has 2 levels for dining. The main level has a large bar area with televisions for catching the latest sporting event. The big thing that the Delafield Brewhaus is known for are their beers. They have 5 beers that they have on tap year round, and a great selection of seasonal beers throughout the year. To start out, I had the beer cheese soup. It was delicious. It was on the thicker side, which is good for a soup of that nature. For my meal, I had the filet and shrimp. The filet was cooked to rare-medium rare perfection. It was tender and juicy. And the amber battered shrimp were large and delicious! For my side, I chose the garlic mashed potatoes. You could definitely taste the garlic in them, but they were also very good. I do have to note: when you have a lot of people in the main dining area, it can get a little loud. At times, It can be tough to hear what your dining companions have to say. At one point, the manager approached our table and very nicely asked us if we would be okay with moving upstairs because there was a reservation that was waiting to be seated. We had no problem with that. Turns out, it is less noisy upstairs. Plus, you get a nice view from up there. Between the good food and the friendly staff, we will be back here for sure. read more

On a 0-5 scale: Blueberry Ale 5. I know some don't like fruity beers but ask for a taste, then decide. Soft Pretzel 3. Nice soft pretzel but was missing a really definitive pretzel taste. Asked for side of cheese sauce which was good. Meatloaf w/Mac & Cheese 5. Wife ordered and I tried. Good sauce on loaf. Great flavor and consistency of mac. Came with green beans which were nice and fresh. Ribs & shrimp combo 4. Ribs were the star! I'd go back just for them or in a different combo. Had the rubbed ribs with sauce on the side = yum! The shrimp were the low light on the plate. The batter around them tasted good but was kind of spongy/soggy. Would have liked them much crisper and maybe with some sort of sauce. One like The Fireside serves with their tempura shrimp would be a great addition. Christian, our server seemed a bit new but did a fantastic job. So it's girls' weekend, and we're in Wisconsin, and what do we think about when we think about Wisconsin? Beer! (Okay, and cheese and brats.) It's decided that a microbrewery is in order for lunch, and since we didn't feel like driving all the way into downtown Milwaukee (being out in the burbs), we located the Delafield Brewhaus. It fit the bill. We split two pitchers of delicious homemade root beer, and were also pleased with the food. I had the half-salad and soup, which was a cheddar-potato concoction that was rich and delicious. My greek salad could have used more feta, but the homemade dressing was quite delicious. Lots of great-sounding choices on the menu, and everyone in our group seemed pleased with their meals. I would definitely go back the next time I'm visiting my cheesehead friend. read more

We stopped here on a Friday in late September. Downstairs is very loud, the acoustics are poor. We were thankful that we were seated upstairs! Started out with the deep fried mushrooms and a crock of french onion soup. Both were fantastic!! The mushrooms were real and not out of the bag, which was a pleasant surprise! Beer: The beer was all pretty tame entry level craft beer. The majority of the beers were in the 4.5% abv range and they did not have an IPA. Tasted a few of them and they were just all simple. Nothing complex or particularly interesting. Food: The portions were huge judging from the plates being delivered to others near me. I ordered the pesto chicken pizza which was also large and had a nice crust but lacked any real flavor. I ended up added chili flakes, black pepper, and tabasco in order to get my taste buds fired up. The decor is cool and it does have a nice feel to it but there are definitely better executed brew pubs than this. read more

Overpriced and meh. I think those are the 2 words I would use to describe this place. Went for lunch on Saturday and was not impressed. First off, they are lacking in the vegetarian options department. There are about 2 entrees/sandwiches that don't have meat, and there was no way I was going to pay 10-12 dollars for one of their overpriced salads only to take away one of the core ingredients. My bf ordered the fish sandwich, and I had a side salad and soup. We shared an appetizer of artichoke dip. That is where we went wrong. For 8 bucks it was a good portion, but that is where the praise ends. The dip was supposed to be hot, supposed to be being the operative phrase. It was luke warm and the oil began to separate from it and it was completely unappetizing. The soup wasn't bad, but the salad was literally 3 bites worth and priced at 4 bucks. I've eaten here 5 or 6 times and have always been satisfied. Today I ordered a smoked rib appetizer, which I have had 3 times previously and it was always mouth watering delicious. Today it was shoe leather. I couldn't get a fork through the meat or even pull apart the ribs. 2 staff members arrogantly told me that I was wrong, the ribs were good. I'm shocked. This was a horrible dining experience. Over-cooked food is excusable but treating a customer like a fool is not. Pathetic! read more

From out of town and went here because we're fans of anything beer-related. Thought it'd be fun try some local brews. Tried their seasonal Belgian trippel (Millenium tripel?) It was pretty good--a little sweet (probably needs some more aging). It had the strength of a tripel, and went well with the food. The service was fast and friendly. We had the all-you-can eat pasta bar (wednesday night special). I enjoyed the variety of pasta and the freshly made concoctions. It was great! Their pasta chef was good at multi-tasking and got the food quickly. The sandwich we ordered came fast as well. The atmosphere kind of felt like we were in a college dining hall. I feel like it would be better if they had booths and long family-style tables. The decor was festive! I'd come here again, but would like to try more things on the menu and more beers. read more

The Delafield Brewhaus is a pretty cool place. I've been here a bunch of times, but finally getting around to reviewing. It's so close to my house and I always forget about it, but after recently visiting, I can be sure I'll be back more often as everything else nearby is chain restaurants. They have a wide variety of food on the menu - lots of typical soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza and appetizers, but also many which sound unique: Muffaletta pizza, Bavarian Zwiebel soup, and a Battered Walleye filet. I always opt for the great appetizer that is the Asiago Artichoke dip. It's creamy and smooth and comes served with warm, toasty, sliced bread. I saw that they now that you can also make the dip cajun spiced or with jalapenos. I went straight-up this time, but I think I'll try one of the variations next time. They brew their own beer and have a pretty good selection on hand. My husband had the Hopfenstange Pilsner and really liked it. They also sell growlers at the Brewhaus - so if you find a favorite, you can take it home with you! I had some of their home made root beer and thought it was great too - sweet and spicy. There is a bar area and dining seating on either side of the big tanks in the middle of the room. There is some upstairs seating as well - looking out over the tanks. The entire place is decorated with beer signs and paraphernalia. It's a casual environment and good for friends, family and even groups. The location is just south of Hwy 94 near the Delafield Hwy 83 exit. You will need to exit at Hwy 83, or the exit just east of that and drive a ways along the frontage road (and past the movie theater on the west side) to get to there. read more

I really love this place. It has an in house brewery and shows you the workings of making beer. They make 7-8 beers which are on tap at the bar which is fantastic! The food is great. Friday fish fry is fresh and the pizza is fire roasted. I suggest the cheese curds, a fine Wisconsin treat. They treated my large party well, we got the corner "barrel" room and it was great to have a semi-private room without paying for it. read more

The positivies: really like the atmosphere and their amber brew is awesome. Frequently buy growlers to bring home. The asiago artichoke dip is delicious! Great app. Rave reviews for the Friday fish fry. They also have a really fun Oktoberfest event. Tent, music, and, of course, Oktoberfest beer! The negative: saw the huge, wood-fried oven and thought the pizza must be amazing. Ordered a build-your-own with some veggies. The pizza was not cooked through. Crust was doughy and limp. Didn't sit well with me or my husband. Still took the leftovers home, figuring we could bake it for additional time and rectify the issue. Nope - still didn't sit well, even after additional cook time to address the somewhat raw crust. I do not recommend the pizzas at all. I also do not recommend holiday visits to the Sunday brunch. it's essentially the same menu with a $10 surcharge. We made this mistake on Father's Day. Just not worth an extra $10 for the minimal modifications made to the options. read more

I mean, it's okay. But it's not great. That's pretty much how I can summarize the whole experience. The locally produced beers are okay, but not great. The Leisure Beer might as well be Miller Lite, as they both lack any real flavor and taste like water. The Mai Bock was better, but still not that great. My wife got a pizza, and while it was actually pretty good, the crust was not cooked all the way through. Very doughy in the center. My jumbalaya-ish stew dinner tasted like "OMG WE PUT TOMATO PASTE IN THIS DISH!" The service was good. The cost was a bit high. So I guess I can summarize it best when I say it's okay, but it's not great. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch for the first time as breakfast buffet was wrapping up. Started with pretzels which were good but served with "from a bag/can" type orange cheese sauce which wasn't good. Got a chicken wrap and a Reuben one with regular fries and one with sweet pot fries. Both kinds of fries were flavorless and mostly inedible without tons of ketchup. The sandwiches weren't so great either but slightly better than the fries. The Reuben came with a gross thousand island on the side, which at first I was annoyed that I had to put it on myself but after I tasted it was glad it came on the side. We ended up taking the second half of both our meals home. I was able to doctor them up at home to make them better but really couldn't improve the leftover fries. Redeeming qualities were service and beer. I can't remember the server's name but she deserves a better restaurant. Also the beer was good, though the printed list was outdated and the two beers I selected from it were not available. If they change more often than they can reprint, maybe verbally listing the beers would be a better option? The only reason I'd ever stop back in is for a growler of beer on the way to Madison or back to Milwaukee. read more

Came with my husband tonight and it was delicious! Had the famous Asiago dip and it was amazing! My husband had the rib eye and I had the turkey hoagie with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious and are served was very good! They weren't busy when we got there but by the time we left at 550 it was getting very busy! Definitely will be back! read more
