Today was that day and dam still packed but one stool at the bar was open so I'm finally in for a beer and burger lunch. With very little pictures of the place they needed a Steve stop by just to get some photo exposure and one picture of food on yelp is not good. The place is your type Wi dive bar where everyone is welcoming and friendly. The taps were all domestic I'm sorry to say and that's as good as it gets even in bottles. The place is small with a small bar on one side and a room next to it that looked like a small dining area. The menu is small and I will post pictures but Tuesday when I was there they had a $2.25 cheeseburger special which is very reasonable. I opted for a bottle of point beer because the taps didn't interest me. I ordered the cheeseburger with ketchup, mustard and raw onions not expecting much for the price and I was surprised to see that it's not on a bun but a hoagie style bread. WOW it's charbroiled on a buttery toasted bread with nice grill marks. The cheeseburger was very simple and tasty with a good grill flavor on fresh bread and a pickle spear on the side. WOW this place is very reasonable because even with a 50% tip my beer and cheeseburger was under $8 and the cheeseburger was good.

The place is your typical neighborhood Milwaukee dive bar with regulars who look at the new person like why is this person in here vibe that I didn't care for. The place has a long bar on one side and hi tables with bar stools in the rest of the bar area. They have a decent assortment taps for a dive bar with domestic and better beers and I would have a lakefront something. The menu has the regular bar food options and I thought I would order the bacon cheeseburger rare, nope they only cook the burgers to med/med well so I'm not paying for an over cooked burger that I can't get cooked to my liking. Plan B would have to be made fast because it took 15 minutes to get her to take my order so I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with my choice of potato. To my surprise the potato options were frys, toots and wedges, hell yah because I love wedges and they are few and far between on bar menus. My food was takeout so I knew that the wedges were not going to be fresh out of the fryer great but they were still good with some heat and crisp left in them with a nice soft potato center and good potato flavor. The Philly cheesesteak was bigger than I expected and it filled half of the container that looked good. The cheesesteak had ample chopped steak a with plenty of fresh grilled onions, green peppers and cheese on a very fresh hoagie roll that hit the spot. Overall I hated that I couldn't get the burger that I really wanted cooked to my liking but the Philly cheesesteak with wedges was not bad for dive bar food.

A quick search on Yelp brought up this spot in Elm Grove which I somehow had never been to. We dropped by and our party of three were able to find a table right away. The outside is so cute with blooming plants everywhere and creeping vines on the brick. It's lovely! Inside was cozy and we were able to find a spot in one of their high backed booths. My brother ordered a Harp Lager, which he was pleased to find on their beer menu. For my lunch, I got a chicken caesar wrap with side salad in lieu of fries. Both were great! The wrap was packed with chicken which made for a hearty and filling lunch. The service was fine and the prices were reasonable. Get to it!
