The doors were locked so I was unable to go in and get the items missing from my order and they staff inside yelled at me that I had to get back in the drive thru lane to get my missing items!!!! 9 cars were waiting and they wanted me to get back in the line of cars just to get the missing items that they didn't give me that I had paid for!!!! Store manager Luis is rude and incompetent. He did not know how to register a coupon simply because there was no bar code (Retail Therapy app) He didn't even try to read the coupon, just dismissed me completely. I have never felt so disrespected by an drive thru employee?!!! I don't expect much. But for a drive thru experience, this reflected terribly on Del Taco as well for even promoting such an incompetent person as manager. I have been to this drive thru a handful of times and never had ANY complaints until last week's visit (10. 07.16) I'm not complaining because of the long line in the drive thru, I'm complaining because of the horrible person who was taking orders! He's the reason the line was so long! I kid you not, this guy was under the influence of some type of drug and it felt like a "what would you do" kind of moment, I just knew someone would yell "just kidding"! He was slurring and talking super slow not knowing anything on the menu, my sister had to repeat herself a lot (and she hates doing that) their was super long pauses in-between talking to him, I'm not sure if he was new and they just threw him in the element but it was clear he didn't know what he was doing. It's a miracle our food order was right! My sister saw a sign that says breakfast all day yet when she went to order a breakfast taco he says "We're out of bacon", then she orders a different breakfast taco and he says it's not breakfast hours! Don't put the sign up if it's not true! My sister and I couldn't wait to confront this guy at the pickup window but we pull up and it's a female employee manning the drive thru!! I've had a few issues with my order in the past, but now they seem to be doing way better. I stop by every 3 or 4 times a month since it's on my way home from work. I think I frequented this place the most during my stint in Irvine. Mainly because I was on a budget, and you can't beat Taco Tuesdays or Taco Sundays. 3 tacos for $1! They're open 24 hours, the drive thru people are always really nice, and don't mess up your orders, and you can get a variety of things for cheap! Their chicken soft tacos are really good too, love the mayo-y sauce they use, and I would also always get either their nachos or crinkle cut fries with a side of nacho cheese sauce! Yup, this is why I definitley gained weight while living there. Not to help, that sometimes I'd go in the wee hours for my Del Taco fix. I absolutely despise this place, but I end up going there since nothing is open late near me in Irvine. This place is old and dirty. The Soda Fountain looks gross, on hot summer days there are Gnats hovering around. The bathrooms looks like a taggers training ground; ehh so unlike Irvine. But today takes the cake. We went through the drive thru and saw an employee working behind the window, took a personal cup to get a drink from the Soda Fountain, but before that, he poured out his drink, without washing his personal cup, dipped the whole thing in the clean ice storage then touched the soda lever. Soooo gross, now the whole batch of ice behind the drive thru window is contaminated with his germs. Sooo gross. I don't go there to often, but every time I do they mess up on my order, they forget my fries, stale fries, forget my taco, forget my burrito, give me wrong burrito, forget the meat on my taco, more stale and cold fries. This DT has steadily been declining. Ordering through the drive through is difficult because the individuals receiving the orders either doesn't understand what I'm ordering or can't hear. Half the either on or more of my items would be missing and I would have to make sure my order is right first before I get charged and then check the bags to make sure all the items I ordered are there. Yes, I am actually writting a review for DelTaco. Not so much about the food, the food is just like any other Del Taco location, and of course I do not think their food is 5 star worthy. HOWEVER, the gentleman at the drivethru has earned this establishment my five star rating. One night I had the craving for their caramel fried cheesecake ( doesn't happen often, and my waist line is thankful for that) and I accidently overpaid him by $5. I love Del Taco dont get me wrong, but this Del Taco is horrible! I only go here because it's the only thing open late. But I despise going through the drive through when the dining room is closed. It's like grinding nails on a chalk board. The manager or whoever that person is, is freaking RRUUUDDEE!!! He constantly get's my order wrong. I drove through one day and I ordered a chicken quesadilla with guac (MY FAVE), but he gave me 3 tacos. I told him I ordered a chicken quesadilla with quac and he sat there arguing with me. So i just drove off and decided to eat the stupid tacos (Not worth sitting there arguing to a brick wall). They always have stale or cold fries, ALWAYS! Went through the drive thru on Monday and some how my order was messed up. I was missing 1 chicken taco and both my deluxe chlli cheddar fries were made regular instead of deluxe as requested. We had asked for one without tomatoes or onions and I believe somehow this through things off because both were made as regular chili cheddar fries. We took our loss at the moment because we were to far away to return and ask for the order to be corrected. Today Tuesday, I happened to be in the area and decided to stop in to provide my feedback on the experience from the previous day. I spoke with Charlie the manager who also happened to be the person who took my drive thru order when this all occurred. Honestly, I felt embarrassed to come in but being in customer service myself I'd thought it be best since this is a place we visit often and it's close to home. Charlie listened and was very kind as well as professional. He apologized for the mistake and immediately began to create a new order for me with the items that were missed or otherwise incorrect. I was very impressed by his great attitude towards what happened, he also said thank you for giving him the opportunity to make it right. Kudos to Charlie and staff!! Thank you very much read more

First off, when looking at the reciept to make sure I have the right store, they have the zip code for the store on Barranca. Is this an fluke or intentional? Unfortunately this is the closest Del Taco to where I spend most of my time. it is also the most incompetent chain store I have ever experienced, and very unprofessional. This is not a third world country, don't make us have to deal with the third world mentality and ignorance. Learn about customer service. So many times they give me the wrong order or don't put in everything I order. Even after they go through the order when you are placing it, and when you are paying for it. The last time I was there I ordered the Double Cheeseburger, no salt on the fries and a side of nacho cheese, and a carnes loaded potatoes. No loaded potatoes. When I mentioned it today, the manager, Joe, looked at me like 'what do you want me to do about that?' I asked if he would give me a coupon or my money back, he said he can't. I didn't want it at that time since I already ordered what I wanted today. Joe didn't seem to care about customer service or willing to do anything to make the customer happy. You do everything you can to make the customer happy. EVERYTHING! Again, this is not third world. I order the caramel cheesecake, half the time there is no caramel. When I tell them, they say 'it isn't my fault'. I'm not saying it is, and I know if isn't, it is the factory's fault, but dammit, give me either my money back or more caramel cheesecake, maybe they will have some caramel in there. The let corporate know there has been a consistent problem with the caramel cheesecake. DUH!!!! My father was one of the original franchisee's for Wendy's. He did everything he could to make a customer happy, he even went to the extent, to keep a customer, he tool the coupons to every other franchise chain and applied whatever it was to his menu. IE If it was for a Double Whopper, you got a double cheeseburger with the coupon or discount. NONE of them had an expiration date according to him. That is how he kept customers happy and coming back. Every week I had to do a spreadsheet for each coupon from all chains. I sometimes had to use 2-3 25 column pages for all the coupons. That's customer service. I used to work in customer service for the USHMM, ARC, AI, SU2C, Haiti, Tsumani, Katrina, DNC. You do everything and anything to make the customer happy. you listen to their problems, and you retify them. You don't leave them out in the cold. That is the treatment you get from the management team at this Del Taco. This is not third world. Not yet! read more

Located in the same plaza as Zion, this Del Taco is best utilized for takeout as they don't have an internal restroom. It's not very big. They also don't take American Express. There is nothing noteworthy about this location. The seats are arranged in a very normal layout and the maximum occupancy is 70. It has a standardized drink dispenser. The food is fine and there were no problems with it during my visit. It came out quickly because there were very few other customers there. The only problem is driving around in the plaza. read more

We have had so many issues with this Del Taco but yet I keep going back (yes I know the definition of insanity) today may have been the last straw. The guy taking the orders was so incredibly rude! I asked for a breakfast burrito and he said they weren't serving breakfast. I said there's a sign out here saying you serve breakfast all day. He said we aren't serving breakfast. I asked what hours do you serve breakfast and he said we aren't serving breakfast. I just got a breakfast burrito 2 days ago and magically today they have no idea when they serve breakfast today??? Went through the drive through at this location on Monday 10/12 at 655pm. The employee that took our order did a great job. He is telling us everything that was in each bag as he handed it to me and I double checked as well. As we received our last bag we noticed that we were missing one del taco, the employee also didn't say it was in there as they handed us each bag. So we said we are missing a taco, he turned to tell the person preparing the food and the Manger on duty said that he had put it in one of the bags. Giving them the benefit of the doubt we pulled forward to triple and quadruple check once again. Not there. So now I had to walk into the restaurant. This is where it gets interesting. The manger wanted to argue with me saying that he put it in the bag. I say if it was in the bag I wouldn't be in here. Talk about bad customer service and very rude unprofessional manager.
