Finally had a chance to try Deema Turkish Cuisine located in Coventry Plaza the food way over the top good definitely 10/10. The food was full of flavor, no bland food on our order. The service was HORRIBLE, we are never in a hurry when we go out but we had to wait over 30 minutes for water and a soft drink, we never received our appetizer. We asked about it when our meals arrived and the waitress said "I'll get you some hummus". Although that is not the appetizer that we ordered. She came off as rude, never smiled or felt welcomed by waitresses or hostess. The front of house was a disaster, at times there were four people at the front trying to figure out what to do, or maybe just doing their own thing, it was very uncomfortable. Other patrons were wondering around refilling their own drinks and trying to get checks and figure out if you pay at the table or up front. Again, the food was Amazing and we will probably give them another go. But, if the service is the same we probably will only go once more. Celebrated my wife's birthday at Deema. It was our first time dining here and had a great experience. We started with falafel and enjoyed it. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfectly seasoned and the dipping sauces complemented them well. My wife had the lamb chops and they were phenomenal. One of the better dishes we've enjoyed in Fort Wayne. I had the Sac Kavurma Beef. It was very good, tender and tasty. We ended the meal with Banana Pudding. Warm and perfectly sweet with the seeds and dates offering a tasty contrast. The service was good and the quiet ambiance offered peaceful meal with opportunity for conversation. This is an underrated meal for Fort Wayne. read more

We ordered take out. I will preface saying that my husband and his cousin are both from Syria. Turkish food is much like Syrian. We had two appetizers...babagnoush...spelling it was was wonderful....falafel was a bit dry and hard. We had two sandwiches and a kafta dinner. Just had a FABULOUS dinner here and I'm blown away!! The meat was so tender, juicy, and tasteful- we couldn't stop eating. I highly highly recommend this place for your next date night/birthday/etc. My family has been going every couple of weeks, and they also can't get enough. Not really sure where all the rave reviews are coming from, unless all of those people ate in the restaurant and received wildly different food and service than I did... Decided to try this place out, walked in and placed a to-go order based upon the good reviews alone. I was excited to try some new, diverse food. Placed the order-one app., one salad, and an entree. Left to run an errand and came back to pick it up. It took me 50 minutes to get my food. The restaurant only had two other parties in the whole place, a two-top and a four-top. The host kept apologizing about the wait, but never once offered anything other than that. Finally got my food and took it home... Then I was pretty furious. See the photos below; falafel was $8.50 for a serving of five, which would've been fine if they were good. I can't really remember the last time I had falafel that dry. Then the salad...$12.50 for the SMALLEST salad ever. My wife and I each got a couple bites each. No meat on it, nothing besides some feta and pomegranate seeds. I was irate. The sauce cups had next to nothing in them. Again, maybe the dine-in experience is different, but we were sorrowfully disappointed. The entree was pretty good, but didn't warrant the $45 bill (with tip) that we paid. Needless to say, we likely won't be back. I don't see this place lasting long unless they make some major improvements and drop their prices. read more

My husband and I are vegetarian, and when we first sawthe menu we were disheartened--there was only one entree. (If you look at the menu online, be forewarned that the sandwiches are only available at lunchtime, until 2:00 pm.) So we ordered a bunch of appetizers: we split plates of hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, lentil soup, and a salad. It was a feast! Just ate here with my parents, and it was a truly lovely evening's repast. Sac Kavurma was tender and well seasoned, very warm and cumin-y. Deliciously smoky baba ghanoush (hooray for charring with real fire!) served with sparkling pomegranate seeds. Pistachio baklava rolled into cigars (instead of baked flat and portioned) really brought out the pistachio flavors, which balanced beautifully with saffron ice cream. All dishes were elegantly plated and thoughtfully composed. Service here is affable and kind, truly gracious, from the hostess stand to the kitchen. Our server (Dan: you're the best!) obviously cares about both the food and his charges' enjoyment of it. He and the owners all displayed wonderfully warm hospitality from the first hello. Please support this fantastic gem of a restaurant. Getting a new food establishment off the ground requires an insane amount of work, love, and passionate dedication. This is my second trip to Deema and I enjoy the food and atmosphere. The food is flavorful, the atmosphere is serene, and the service is great. My issue is them passing their cost for the use of a credit card on to me, at 4%. I am a foodie and eat out quite frequently. I have never seen this anywhere else in Fort Wayne and hope it does not become a trend. I carry very little cash and shouldn't have to just to eat at this restaurant. There are many other options in Fort Wayne where I don't have to pay extra for the same food as those paying cash. This will definitely make me think twice before revisiting Deema. read more

The food here is so good. We went our first time just to try something different, but keep returning for the food and the great service. They do not serve alcohol, but do allow you to bring your own wine. If we are meeting with friends who may want a drink with dinner, I let them know and pack a couple bottles of wine and a corkscrew. read more

Not expecting much from a Mediterranean restaurant in Indiana. After being in that area for some 10 years did not hold out much hope. I was pleasantly surprised by not only the food but the staff. We have been to Deema at least 5 times in the past 6 months with family and friends. The chef owner Yasir and his wife Raja and their staff are very pleasant and courteous. We love their signature Deema burger with its special sauce and spicy cheese, Adana kebab, beef steak and chicken kebab. The steak (medium rare) was better than anything my family from the west coast had experienced. The prices are a bit upscale but definitely worth it. I hope that all of you have an experience like ours that has been very special every time. It is best to go during week to avoid the wait on the weekends. :) read more

Deema is a gem on the Fort Wayne restaurant scene. My wife and I stopped for a late lunch and were blown away. The decor is much more upscale than we expected with a nice quiet elegance. The staff was friendly and well trained to be attentive but not intrusive. Water was served in a carafe which was left at the table so no waiting for refills as needed, a nice touch since we had been at the gym and were thirsty. A basket of fresh bread with an accompanying olive oil and a small dish of olives was served. The bread was fresh, warm and delicious. The olive oil had a little spice. We had baba ganoush which was garnished with olive oil and pomegranate seeds and served with a giant freshly made piece of very thin and delicious pita. The steak in our kebabs was tender, nicely charred and wonderfully seasoned. I highly recommend Deema and hope it will be around for a long time to come. After hearing everyone talk about this place, I knew the food would be good. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were the only ones in the restaurant. The meal started with some bread and pitas, which were ok. It was accompanied by some delicious oil and black olives. We ordered the Baba Ganoush for an appetizer that was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the steak kabobs and my husband ordered the chicken kabobs, which were split between the two of us. The steak was good and the chicken was AMAZING! The chief came out and made sure everything was good. Since our plates were scraped clean, he already knew the answer. This place is awesome with great food, great service and great people.
