    Everything Skillet
    Charissa H.

Cool place for bunch. It's very spacious inside, nice high ceilings, and it's a fun atmosphere. Do watch out for condensation from the ceiling vents. At around 1:45pm on a Sunday, our waitress told us that they ran out of milk. So no chocolate milk, and no milk for a milkshake. I was trying to order a blueberry milkshake, since I've never seen that on a menu. So interesting how a cappuccino is made of milk and there's still milk for that? Cappuccino - $3.29 - Tastes like chocolate milk with a hint of espresso. It's good and very sweet, but definitely not a real cappuccino. I wouldn't order it again, but it was still decent. 3/5 stars. Everything Skillet - $12.99 - This was the best dish. Everything cooked to perfection. Nothing was watery or tasteless. Whomever is cooking the skillets, A+ to you. 5/5 stars. Country Fried Steak - $11.99 - The breaded steak was delicious. You have a choice of chicken or steak, and I always go steak, but I'll probably try the chicken next time. The taste was fantastic, probably one of the best country fried steaks I've tried, and I've tried a lot of them. 5/5 stars for the country fried steak. But, everything else needs work. The potatoes were bland and kind of average by itself. I asked for over medium eggs. They came out as runny as could possibly be. Some parts of it I'm not even sure the whites were totally cooked either. The food runner had told us that they were waiting on the raisin bread. So I thought she'd eventually bring out my bread, but I was wrong. About 10 minutes go by, and half my meal is done before our waitress comes and asks our how our food is. That's when we told her about the eggs and the missing raisin bread. We asked for the eggs to be recooked, so they did, and then gave me more over easy eggs. So, I gave up on the eggs. The raisin bread was fine, it's the one you can buy at the grocery store. I'd skip this and get a biscuit next time. What a rollercoaster of a meal. Such a high for the country fried steak, and then a let down when you realize that rollercoaster is a kiddy coaster and the exciting drop was actually a small hump. Save yourself the hell and get fruit and scrambled eggs. 1/5 stars for the sides. I'll try this place again, but good grief, communication is rough. Our waitress asked us what we meant by over medium eggs. Basically, our yolks need to be somewhat cooked. The yolk shouldn't be a pool on the plate. It should look more like a sauce. I'd rather it have been overcooked than over easy. So if she didn't know what over medium meant, I guess the cooks don't either? I don't know anymore. I also don't know if they actually ran out of milk. I can't fathom why someone couldn't just run to Aldi or Walmart next door and get a gallon to make it through the day.

I absolutely loved this place. When we pulled up the parking lot was almost full at 9 on a Wednesday morning. This is always a good sign. As someone who has managed restaurants for most of my life I tend to notice things some don't. Even on a snowy day the parking lot was clean. No litter. No trash in the bushes. We were created by a friendly well dressed young man when we entered. We were shown to our table and he chatted with us genuinely while he was seating us. Our server, Kim, showed up soon after. She immediately got us our drinks. Jill got hot tea and as a bonus Kim brought the coffee cup full of hot water and a hot tea pot. That way, once her cup was done steeping, she could put the tea bag in the pot to steep. I asked for some help between two dishes and she gave great advice. She is genuinely the warmest and nicest server I've ever had. They should clone her. The food arrived very quickly for how busy the restaurant was. I can't imagine what their food cost is, because the portions are ginormous. The food was delicious. Kim continued to interact and charm us throughout the meal without being intrusive. At some point a young man came out of the back who I assume was the owner. He was interacting with the guests, running silverware to the front, chatting up the regulars and shaking hands and sincerely thanking people for coming in. At one point he repositioned a table that had been moved when the guests got up. He noticed it wasnt perfectly level and immediately addressed that issue to correct it. 13 out of 10. Highly recommend!!!

This place surprised me-- super lovely, quick, friendly, delicious, and affordable. The portions are huge and it's quite nice that the eggs / potatoes / "classics" if you will aren't seasoned, that way you can season it to taste at the table. It's the definition of simple home cooked food. I built a combo with pancakes, eggs, and sausage links. Pancakes were moist and fluffy, eggs were perfectly over easy, and the food came out quickly. Wish we had one back in FL so I could be a regular :3

    Lemon Rice Soup

Always the spot even after moving away 5 yrs ago. Excellent lemon rice soup. Always excellent. I ordered the Cosmos wrap minus the dressing but added tzatziki on the side for portion control on the wrap. The wrap was good, loaded in lettuce, but was lacking gyro meat. The meat was chopped and grilled, with the consistency of bacon. Bleh. All I could taste was the feta cheese, onion & lettuce. I should have gotten my go-to chicken wrap - will know next time. Hubby ordered a gyro sandwich, it was served on a grilled pita, served OPEN FACED with a knife. Loaded with meat and feta cheese, hubby said it was good, but would have preferred it like "normal". Now I know where my meat went. They have changed their fries to coated fries which I am not a fan of so I left them on my plate. Waitress was WONDERFUL!! We tipped her well even though we were less impressed with the two gyro options. Good service always wins.

Great place to get breakfast//brunch in Fort Wayne! It's always super busy since they're only open until 3pm, but the wait usually not too long and it's definitely worth it. Make sure to come here hungry because the food portions are huge. I highly recommend trying an omelette or the crepes. Pro-tip: get the crepes stuffed with cream cheese and add strawberries! Everyone who works here is super nice and the restaurant gives a homey-vibe.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We were so impressed with the quality of food and service that we received. Their portions are large and they have specials daily. The inside is very nice as well. Seriously one of the best breakfasts places I have been to- highly recommend!

Fast forward to today and the house hottie wanted to do the humble thing and give them another go (Against my better judgement, but I digress... Happy wife, happy life). I've inexplicably gotten a gluten sensitivity about a year ago (which sucks), so we ordered two GF pizzas. The pizzas are literally half the size of their standard Neopolitan pizzas along with a $4.00 up-charge for GF, totaling $51 for carry-out (just two tiny skimpily topped pizzas, nothing else)... This is a joke right? While the pizzas were good (not as good as their Neopolitan), $51 is laughable and frankly insulting. Wow, this is some "bold" customer price gouging and should piss-off anyone that orders their GF pizza... Albeit I wouldn't expect anything less coming from the guy that treats his customers like ill repute. Needless to say, we are officially done with 800 Degrees... From bad customer treatment to getting bent by over like a cheap Vegas hooker via price gouging, 800 Degrees and its pompous owner can get bent. This is such a travesty because 800 Degrees is an outstanding pizzeria, but there are other solid pizzerias in Fort Wayne that deserve our business because they don't do either of the above. Good riddance.

We've never had anything we didn't love! This most recent visit, we started with the Mexican Caesar and Chips with guacamole. Yum! Hubby had the Saturdays Night Special Burrito made with pork carnitas, Arroz verde, queso, avocado crema and tomatillo salsa on a grilled flour tortilla. Excellent! He could not finish it because it was so substantial... I usually go for tacos, and the Texican is my absolute go-to! SO flavorful! Also had the pork carnitas taco, neither of which could I finish. Love that all tacos can be wrapped in lettuce instead of tortillas if one prefers! Totally forgot pics until we packaged our leftovers (which hubby happily enjoyed the next day), so that's the only pic you get, unfortunately! Hopefully you can still discern the deliciousness of Solbird's food!

Oh, MAN, do I wish there was a restaurant like Solbird Kitchen & Tap closer to home…read more On a recent visit to Fort Wayne my wife and I were trying to figure out where to have dinner. Our son-in-law asked "Have you tried Solbird? They have amazing tacos!". Wellll...that's all that took! The decor at Solbird is nicely done. It's not bright and flashy. It's not overdone. It's not obnoxious. There's enough to give the place some ambiance without being overwhelming. It's dignified and suits the establishment. Solbird has a combination tables: bar seating, high tops, and regular height table. We're always high top sitters. Oh, and can we talk about these chairs? At least the tall chairs? Those things are HEAVY! If I'd have known they were that heavy I'd have eaten Cheerios® for breakfast. Our server was a very delightful young lady named Soleil (yes, like the actress Soleil Moon Frye). She was amazingly fun and just....cool. I'm not going to lie. My son-in-law mentioned the Mexican Poutine and that's all it took to get me in the door. My wifey was interested in the Korean tacos. Our food was delivered hot -- VERY hot -- and accurate, and I couldn't get the Mexican Poutine in my belly! It was 100% delicious in a way that I did not see coming, and I'm guessing that was the Chorizo. It made it AWESOME. The staff (all women as far as we saw) were all friendly, helpful, and always busy cleaning and stocking. The overhead music was 80s and 90s and was at a perfect level and not overwhelmingly loud. It gave the restaurant an upbeat, fun vibe. There's a sign on the door that says that no one under 21 is allowed to enter. I don't if that's an absolute, or that you can't eat here if you have kids under 21. No matter, I don't object to a restaurant having a rule like that. It's not an altogether bad thing to have adults-only establishments. Yea, if there was a Solbird close to home I'd be there every night...which makes it a good thing that it's about 4 hours away. :)

B Antonio's - Meat pizza and Cheese Bread…read more We had carry out from the Lima Road B Antonio's. We frequent this place often for salads and sandwiches. Hiwever, this was the first time we have ever had carry out pizza. Here is our experience: We ordered a 14" hand tossed meat pizza at a price of $18. The cheese bread was $7. I wasn't as concerned with the price as I wanted to try the pizza. These prices are pretty much in line with other take out oriented pizza places. They had our pizza freshly out of the iven in about 15 minutes versus the 20-25 minute quoted time. The meat pizza has a really good taste. For a crust we went with a hand tossed pizza. They do offer thin crust and gluten free. The crust had a slightly sweet & floury taste - like their breadsticks. It was baked to a nice golden brown color and texture. Overall it was fairly soft and moist to taste. The edges has a nice firm crisp them without being crunchy. Nice for dipping! The pizza sauce is thicker and has a more bold tomato taste. It comes off a little bit sweet and no real spice to give it heat. The pizza makers spread the sauce out the edges - which I like. The sauce gave the toppings a bit of moisture and accented the meat toppings nicely. I was impressed with the amount of toppings on this pizza. The meats come with Italian sausage, pepperoni, ham, bacon and ground beef. The meats seemed to have at least sizable layers of meat. The sausage gave the pizza a little bit of an Italian flavor. The ham and bacon added a nice slightly salty taste. The ground beef didn't do much igger thsn offer an enhanced meat taste. It wasn't greasy. All that was covered in an appropriate amount if mozzarella. I felt like the pizza toppings gave me good value. The cheese bread was a little different than most. Basically they have rolled out their break stick dough and cut into flatter pieces. The dough has a nice slightly sweet floury taste. There is a decently thick bed of mozzarella on top of a lightly buttery-garlic covering. The mozzarella is a bit higher quality so it was smooth and "cheesy" to pull apart. The melted cheese was dressed with some grated Parmesan cheese. I was disappointed in ghe cup of marinara sauce. Im sure it was the same as what was on the pizza - which i liked. However the cup of marinara was extraordinarily thick. So thick that you couldn't dip the cheese bread into it...nor thd pizza crust. The sauce seemed like the thickness might have been caused by over refrigerating it. Regardless it wasn't enjoyable and didn't add to the good experience. Cold Pizza Test - the next day the leftovers were a little bit tougher to chew but not excessively. It retained a decent amount of moisture in the crust and toppings. The Italian flavor in the meats almost disappeared without the warmer temperatures (I ate this one at room temperature the next morning). The cheese and sauce still had a nice flavor. Overall...it had a decent taste for cold pizza.
