This is one of the restaurants in Fort Wayne that I will be dearly missing when I move out of the city - it is fantastic Cuban food that is as good (and sometimes even better) than every other Cuban restaurant I've been to around the country. The food is delicious, the staff has been friendly and so helpful every time we've gone, and the ambiance is cozy with an inviting, bright atmosphere. It's one of my favorite places to eat in this city, and my hope is that more people come to try this little gem. GET THE HAM CROQUETTES. So good!

The biggest breakfast sandwich for $7.99 in town. Amazing! Fresh OJ

I had the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was humongous for $7.99 what a great deal. Also I had the cafe con leche and fresh OJ. I love the ambiance of the place. Even the restrooms are nice inside. Great service. I just wish they played Spanish music inside. I was listening to Garth Brooks/American music in a Cuban restaurant. Play Spanish music inside and this place is a hit !!

The Culata was on point it was very authentic in taste and the ambiance was super dope because I could play dominoes while eating or drinking coffee. The staff was great and was very nice so I'm definitely coming back when I come back to visit my family.

Ham Croquettes with garlic aioli sauce ($5)

Before I go on a rant, here's what I ordered: -Ham Croquettes ($5): Price is a little steep for 2 of these what look like mozzarella sticks. The quality is there though, I was just expecting 3-4 for the price. My son enjoyed them so not too many complaints. The sauce is delicious & mild. -Pan con Lechón ($13): another costly item, at $13 I wish it were a little fuller or larger. Again, the quality of the sandwich is fantastic. So flavorful and complex with texture and right amount of sauce. My absolute favorite. -Empanadas ($4.25 each): wanted to try different kinds so I did the Spinach and Cheese, Beef and Chicken. Loved that all of them had different flavors but each equally delicious. If I had to choose I'd go between the chicken or beef. All of them were crunchy. I do wish they came with the garlic aioli sauce for dipping. Took one star off for the customer service. Wasn't good at all... Parked in the parking lot near the Post Office, where I needed to run an errand, so I felt it was meant to be! Stood at the truck for about 5-7 minutes and no one came to the window. As I was walking away I saw someone standing over to the side who finally came over. Ordered my food and went to the post office while they made it. Post office visit took about 15-20 minutes and when I went back to get my food there were about 4-5 people standing near the window and no one opened the window to give me the status of my order. Another 5-7 minutes later the lady hands me my food. Wish there was more communication and interaction between customer and employees/owners. There were a few of us waiting outside confused as to what was going on. All that to say I will be back for that sandwich!

My family and I finally ventured over to try out their store front location. We've had (and enjoyed) their Cuban sandwiches from the food truck. I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to breakfast, so I was a little apprehensive. There are really only two items listed under breakfast and both were sandwiches. Their empanadas were going out the door as fast as they could make them, so I guess you could count that as a breakfast item as well. The breakfast sandwiches were quite tasty with egg, cheese and ham/bacon. The 20 oz hot mocha also hit the spot and it was a great way to start our busy Saturday morning. BTW, my oldest daughter grabbed a ham-n-cheese empanada on the way out and said it was the bomb. I dropped the 4th star because of the music volume. I love the cuban/ Latin America music, but it was way too loud on a Saturday morning at 10am. My family had to shout at the table to carry on a conversation. Regardless, good food and nothing like it up here in the Lima and Dupont part of town.

Staff is friendly, warm and inviting. The inside is clean with an inviting feel welcoming you sit down and have enjoy your food and beverages. I stopped after work for the first time finally for the first time for a cubano and guava cheese pastry and ordered just that as well as a loaded breakfast sandwich. This sandwich is nice sized and delicious, I am not much of a sandwich person, but I could not put this down. They also have a a cilantro garlic sauce that I just was more then a cup of, I want to buy a jar. Everything just compliments everything with layers of flavor in each bite. I wish I had tried this cafe sooner!

Food and service was fantastic! This was our first time here. The young lady at the register was very helpful and pleasant. We asked what she would suggest and we had her suggestion, an Authentic Cuban sandwich. I'm guessing it's close to the real deal. It was toasty, cheesy, meaty and delicious! I had a Banana nectar drink. That was a nice addition to my meal. Overall a delicious meal.

My husband found this place yesterday while in Ft.Wayne on business. After me growing up in Miami, he knows my love for guava pastelitos and Cuban sandwiches. I've even had some shipped to me from Miami because I miss them so much. He decided to surprise me by bringing some back to Indianapolis today. OH.MY.GOSH!!! Best I've had outside of Miami. Little does he know that every time he goes to Ft Wayne now, he'll be bringing me some yumminess home!!

I am so happy this place opened! The food here is incredible! I have cuban ancestry and I was born and raised in Miami. I know Cuban food, and this is the real deal! Coming here, finally having a local place that serves your cultural food is something incredible. My brother and I came in one afternoon to try this place out. We were immediately surprised with how well decorated this restaurant is. The mural on the wall is beautiful for sure, but even the small touches really add character to the restaurant. The cuban coffee makers used to hold the napkins, the domino sets... classy and so accurate in regards to making a Cuban restaurant feel Cuban. The owner also knows branding because he makes sure you know where you are at. Again, its the little touches that really add to this place and the experience. We started looking through the pastries and the menu, and my brother and I were in heaven. Firstly they sold croquetas. Now, if you are unfamiliar with what that is. They are essentially a savory pastry. They are crispy bite sized logs of some kind of meat coated in bread in a bread exterior. There are a variety of meats you can make them with, but this place has the typical three: ham, chicken and cod. The most common of them all is ham, which happens to be our favorite. We ordered like a dozen of them to take home. Let me tell you these are amazing! Croquetas are heavenly, and I can tell you I thoroughly enjoyed having them again. We also ordered some senoritas which is a Cuban custard filled flaky pastry, which are very enjoyable. We also had to have some amazing Cuban coffee. Now, Cuban coffee is both strong and sweet. If you have never had it, its the best coffee period. What we call coffee in this country, is just water. Now you can have cuban coffee in several different ways, we decided to have a cortadito which is Cuban Coffee with a splash of milk. Man! That hit the spot and warmed us up on that frigid day! The menu, though, is limited and I hope they expand the menu to add more Cuban dishes. Again their food is authentic, I asked where they got Cuban bread, and they have it shipped from Miami. Cuban bread is the best bread in the world, it is perfection... both soft and warm and yet crispy as well. I cannot describe truly how wondrous it is, you have to try it. It was also wonderful that I was able to speak to the staff in either English or Spanish. I don't get a lot of chances to speak in Spanish since leaving South Florida, so I took the opportunity to do so. Once again, its those little touches that make coming here so good! If you have never tried Cuban food, seriously? What are you waiting for? Come to Laz Cuban Cafe! If you love Cuban food? Come to Laz Cuban Cafe! You know... writing this review... makes me want some!

Yucca fries. Very filling, a bit salty, and a great app.

Wow! This place is great. I've been wanting to try this cafe out for months and finally got the pleasure to do so yesterday at lunch. This place is clean, smells great, has fun decor, and the staff are very friendly! Also, they have purse hooks under every table - amazing! I had a cortadito, guava pastry, yucca fries and a beef empanada. Every single thing was delicious. The beef filling in the empanada was so flavorful and tender. The pastry dough was great as well. It reminded me of the best kind of street food. The yucca fries were fresh and had just the right amount of crispy outside to soft inside ratio. The cilantro sauce that came with it tasted like they had just made it with fresh ingredients. The dip was a nice flavor with the empanada as well. The coffee was great! Tiny but mighty and a bit sweet without being overly so. A great pick me up in the afternoon. The guava pastry though - ¡Dios mÍo! It was delightful. The brightest spot of my day! The pastry was perfectly flaky, buttery, not greasy, cooked perfectly and the guava filling was just the right amount of sweet that made you come back for more. I think this place is a gem and if you haven't tried it yet you're missing out. It would be a great place to take someone out on a lunch date.

Love the location. Lots of parking & seating. The atmosphere is beautiful. As soon as you walk in, you get the amazing aromas of different varieties of Cuban spices! The staff was very nice & helpful. We definitely needed a Cuban restaurant in Fort Wayne. The steak in my salad was very delicious and marinated perfectly, but the $15.50 salad was a little pricey for just lettuce, tomatoes & and a little bit of steak. The rice, beans & plantains were enjoyable! The 20oz $8 coffee was also pricey and not worth it. The fried stuffed potato ball was definitely delicious and unique for me, but the inside meat wasn't as hot as I would have liked it to be. It was really cool that they had board games to play as an option!

Spinach and cheese empanada. The garlic cilantro sauce is to die for!

There was a really nice flavor of sausage, instead of the flour base that most restaurants choose to use. The biscuits were an interesting choice and weren't bad, but that gravy was the entire reason for their being. At only $8, I will definitely be back to get more! The service was fine, considering the food is brought to you, but nothing more. The ambiance was very much a coffee shop's ambiance, which is a good thing.
