My Queen and I travelled from PHL to Ft. Wayne for her father's 85th birthday. We made a last minute reservation for 15 people and the staff at Lakeside Cafe graciously placed us in a semi-private room. When our group grew to 25 people, they were more than happy to expand our area. The servers were wonderful and friendly. All of our brunch entrees came out quickly and simultaneous. I'm still amazed that 25 servings came out at once and all were hot and matched each order perfectly. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were large. I was working in the area and looking for the closest place to get a breakfast to go. When I saw that the parking lot was completely full I had doubts I would be able to get quick service here. I had checked out the menu and wanted to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised when an employee greeted me as soon as I walked in the door, and she immediately took my order. I ordered a veggie omelet with a side of grits. Within ten minutes my food was ready, neatly packaged. My omelette was delicious and the servings were huge. Enough grits for two people for sure, and the pancakes that came with my omelette were larger than I had thought they would be. They serve breakfast all day here, which I love. The menu was huge, and I never even got past the breakfast items. All kinds of classics and favorites, everything looked wonderful. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the huge portions. Employees were friendly and the dining room was very clean. If I lived here I would be a regular for sure. read more

The food was good and serving size was fine. However the prices are ridiculous. We have spent literally thousands of dollars here over the years but the price-gouging is excessive. One of the most expensive cups of coffee in town! Waitresses are always very nice but sometimes charge above what's listed on the menu. We will only go back during the hours for the breakfast specials. In fact, just changed plans that we had to meet friends here next weekend and will go elsewhere because of their prices. $6 for a bagel!! read more

Food prices and service is always superb but if you change a menu item your punished by excessive pricing. Ordered corn beef hash with onions and peppers and peppers and onions in potatoes $6.76 extra charge very excessive, ordered eggs Benedict with sausage and asked for ham instead upcharge was full price for a side of ham but no credit for the sausage that I paid for but gotten, I said something to the cashier all she did was stare at me with not one word of explanation. A fair charge would of been the price difference between the ham and sausage excessive, they have a chicken noodle soup with no chicken the chicken should be the star not the broth and noodles if it says chicken there should be chicken. The food and service are very good but are punished financially for asking for something different stay with the basic menu or maybe the restaurant should be more fair in pricing. read more

the food is good,but the prices have risen so much. I know that restaurants have to raise prices to keep up but they raised there prices but have taken many of the sides that come with there Breakfast now not available.If you want a tomato instead of potatoes you have to pay extra.They used to give you French Fries as a Breakfast side now you can't get them anymore.There Breakfast specials used to be till 10am now they end at 9:50. Yes you can raise your prices but don't take items that were included before and then take them away. read more

Food is always good there, waitresses are very efficient, portions are always substantial. But today I ordered chicken noodle soup very tasty but they forgot the chicken it had two small pieces the size pf pencil erasers, I asked the waitress she came back with that's just the way they they make it. according to the chef. After looking up various recipes on the internet it says the first word of the name of the product contains the most. So there should be more than two very small bits come on chicken is still cheap to buy put some in the soup. read more

We love Cara and all the staff food is amazing as well as service always come on Saturday or Sunday for the broccoli soup.

Tried this place for the first time because the parking lot is always full. Now I see why. The service is outstanding. Even though the parking lot was packed, we were seated immediately. Water and coffee were quickly brought and our food came within a couple minutes of ordering. I didn't particularly care for my dish which was the Mediterranean skillet, but I think that is just because it wasn't to my taste, but the stuff on other people's tables looked delicious. It was hot and fresh and our waitress kept our water and coffee filled. The prices weren't cheap, but they were average, comparable to other similar restaurants. Very well run business. We knew what we were getting into when we pulled into the parking lot, but despite that, I was a little disappointed at the cleanliness of the restaurant and with the overall level of service. The portion of Coliseum Blvd. where this restaurant is located has seen better days; nearly every retail store is now gone. Whenever urban decay and retail abandonment set in, there are always one or two "hold outs" that think they can still make a go of it. The menu looks good. American and Greek food and breakfast anytime. This was formerly The Liberty Diner. I see there are some wait persons from before and by the quality of the food maybe a few of the cooks . The food was good and hole-some. I had Chicken Fried Steak. My wife had a Waffle and Bacon. Grandson had pancakes the size of his head. Son had a big ole burger and so did his wife. We all agreed it was some good American food at competitive prices. All in all it was a good experience. My husband and I really enjoyed the food, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. Twice we called in to place a to-go order and were asked to "wait a moment." The hostess put the phone down and never picked it back up. So took the family back for dinner tonight. The walleye was flaky, tender and moist. Just the right amount if breading. The cole slaw was slammin! The Mrs had the hot wings. Good wings with good flavor, but the "hot" was missing. The kids loved their food. And the portions were huge for a kids meal. I've got a 5 yo and I swear he has a tapeworm but he was actually full after just a cheeseburger and fries. That never happens. All in all a great place to take a family. read more
