The place is more like a standard Midwest family owned restaurant than a place specializing in anything... and that is just fine. There are not a lot of gyro options on the menu, but what is there? Huge portions and tasty. Everything there is solidly good. It isn't gourmet dining, but it is certainly above the diner standard of "hot, brown, and lots of it." Met a friend here who was in town visiting so it was a first time for me and it was great. I got the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and it was so good! The food was hot and served fresh. The service was amazing and everyone was very friendly. The restaurant was busy but not too loud and the staff kept everyone happy with their service. SURPRISE! It has been "AT LEAST" 10 years & maybe 20 or more since we last ate here & I was greatly surprised! It is not a big place but it was packed. We had to walk to the very back to get the last seat available. It seemed like everyone knew each other as they all seemed to be talking across the floor. There were only 2 waitresses but they stayed very active. NOTE: Take time to look to the left of the Counter as you enter to see the "Specials" & checkout the desserts next in between the cash registers. Since the name is "King Gyros" I went with the specialty, a Gyro. Not as spicy as most Greek Gyros but the portion was huge. I ordered the Gyro Platter which is a Gyro with 2 sides. They allowed me to "evenly" substitute an order of Onion Rings for the 2 sides at no additional cost. When they brought the Gyro, it was actually 2, served deconstructed. I brought enough meat home to make at least 2 more Gyros. My wife had a Cheeseburger as it was big enough for her to have been 2 burgers. She is somewhat picky about some place being "Good" or not & she was talking about going back all the way home. I that means she considered it to be "Good!" read more

I've been to King Gyros literally too many times to count, I remember eating here as a child and I'm still coming here for the wonderful gyros! This place is somewhat of a Marion tried and true, it isn't fancy but it is great if you're on a budget and want some tasty eats! I pretty much always get the gyro with feta combo, it's one of the best gyros I've ever eaten along with a huge order of fries. The barbecue sauce is homemade and is out of this world, arguably the best part of eating at King Gyros. I am a bit disappointed with the lack of service I've been given numerous times . I recently went for breakfast and asked for egg whites rather than eggs, just little requests like this tend to be seen as a burden to the staff even though it's always asked with a please and thank you! It definitely won't make me stop coming here though because the food is delicious, but it has dampened the experience a bit . Be sure to stop by their dessert counter on the way out and grab a slice of the Baklava, you won't regret it! read more

The food was okay. The service was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I got my coffee creamer 20 minutes after I got my coffee. I asked for butter for my toast 2 times and never got that at all. Gyros are full with lots of meat, but could use more onion and tomato. Booth are small so there's no leg room without kicking the person across from you. When I was a kid I grew up next to this place. We used to get the gyros combo every day. As I get older, and whenever we pass through marion I like to stop in and get the ribs/chicken combo. The menu here is so varied it will take many visits to try it all. We got and shared the Gyro Platter - a do-it-yourself gyro meal for two. We got the fries and slaw, and were pleased with both. The gyro meat was savory, and the cucumber sauce was as it should be. Unexpected were the feta cubes and pickle spear. My wife was pleased with the tomato slices. We'll be back, to try the chicken gyros and other offerings, but we'll also definitely be getting the Gyro Platter again, too! read more
