3rd floor looking out to the Hawaiian Monarchy paintings

Service- 4 stars Food and drink- 5 stars Ambiance - 5 stars I loved my evening at the Deck today! The view of Diamond Head was probably my highlight along with my date and the fact that it was an open air setting. I did not feel uncomfortable with an overpowering a/c setting and the weather was perfect for a dinner outside! I ordered the Hamachi Carpaccio that was served dressed with saved Maui onion, jalapeño Sukarno cilantro and chili threads and with salad. The sauce was delish and still thinking about the thinly sliced Hamachi. We ordered the Hot stuff cocktail and was my fav between that and the Nice Melons cocktail. The Hot Stuff cocktail came with jalapeño seasoning on the rim which provided an extra kick to the beverage! The reason why I would rate the service 4 stars is because I felt like we were being rushed to leave our table . I don't even think we were offered any dessert before our check was handed to us. Aside from that, I thought our waiter hustled and was very helpful.

Came here for a wedding and the views are so beautiful! The food was pretty standard, but the view of Diamond Head was pretty insane. The bar was poppin' and I drank wayyyy too much.. that Deck Mai Tai stuff was STRONG I was getting faded off that drank.... I need to chill out.. LOL Service was so great and I was so full just from all the mini food samplers they had the servers bring out. Definitely a beautiful spot located in Queen Kapiolani Hotel! I would come back just to see the view again, although I can see this as an issue if the weather is too rainy.

Deck is easily one of my favorite spots for its unbeatable view of Diamond Head. I could sit there for hours just taking it all in. The atmosphere is super laid back, making it perfect whether you're meeting friends or for a special celebration. Deck has become my favorite place for happy hour. There were so many great options to choose from. The food and drinks were both on point, and it's hard to beat that combination with a view like Diamond Head. Our server was top tier--constantly checking in to make sure everything was good with our drinks and food. It made the whole experience feel easy and taken care of. Parking is convenient too, with options at the hotel or right across the street, which makes it even easier to stop by.

Fun and vibrant with amazing views! Food was well executed but not super special. Would absolutely return! Mom got calamari and wedge salad - both good! I got the braised short ribs and I loved the garlic confit mashed potatoes. Service was quick and friendly enough. Even if the food was bad, I'd return for the volcano views!

Great place for cocktails with a view. However, I heard they no longer have live music here, which kind of sucks. The vibe was definitely different without it. Our server was very nice, but slow. Drinks are expensive $18 but that's expected.

Came here for pau hana. The food was delicious! The view was breathtaking, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.

During our stay, this was our favorite place for ambiance, views, happy hour and food! We came here twice first time for drinks on the happy hour with fries. Second time, we went for happy hour but decided to order some more food and my husband loved the wings. They were really good! The braised short ribs were a great portion and we shared both in addition to a couple drinks. Good for happy hour given Waikiki is so expensive. The view made it worth it! Service was quick and the server(s) never rushed. I'd come back if I came back to the island :)

Amazing service. Amazing food. Amazing view. I'd stay here just for this restaurant alone.

The service here was fantastic . We made reservations and seated quickly. They had good happy hour deals. The happy hour drinks were delicious . We ordered a few appetizers - the truffle fries were crispy and a splendid starter. Brussels sprouts were great as were the sliders and fish tacos. The view for sunset was stunning - great experience overall.

My first time at deck even though I heard a lot of people come for happy hour. First of all, the food was just mid. Started off with the hamachi carpaccio and the fish was good but seasoning wise it was very bland. For our mains we got the pan seared scallops and fish tacos. Scallops were soft but that's it. It was under seasoned and the sauce didn't add much either. Not worth the $40+. The fish tacos saved the night. The fish was deep friend and crispy with a nice seasoning. Service was good, server was nice and attentive even though it was getting busy. Mainly wanted to come because the view is amazing. If you get to sit outside, you can see diamond head right in front of you and also catch a glimpse of the waikīkī sunset. It's part of a hotel so pretty sure there's parking validation but if you want free parking you can just go to the zoo and they have free parking.

Coming up here just to look at the view of Diamond Head makes this spot all worth it. Highly recommend making reservations for a brunch, but if anything the staff and aesthetically prepared and delicious food from quality ingredients are just YES. Such a great spot to celebrate any occasion, after a race, or graduation, or just simply being.

Had a reservation, but still had to wait about 20 minutes before they sat us and then it was with the stipulation that we only had 90 minutes to do whatever we had to do. This was a pretty negative way to start off. Luckily our waitress, Makayla, was really great and she helped to make things better. It was Thanksgiving Day and they offered a turkey dinner for $41, but my friend and I split a Waipoli Caesar Salad from the Happy Hour (3 to 6 pm) Menu and the half chicken with vegetables from the regular menu. It's nice that the HH Menu is good everyday, even on this holiday, because it saved us a few dollars. We also split the chicken ($32). The food was very tasty, although the salad was a bit heavy on the dressing. Our waitress misunderstood our order and had the kitchen put chicken on our salad, but she quickly took the cost of the chicken off our bill when our order was corrected; we ended up keeping the chicken on the salad and it was juicy, tender, and delicious. The little parmesan crisps that came with the salad were great, too. The half chicken was a bit on the small side. We both looked at it and thought it looked more like a large Cornish game hen instead of a chicken, but it was enough. The veggies that came with it (4 stalks of asparagus, and 4 sticks of carrot over a bed of julienned carrots and red cabbage) were very good and not overcooked, in fact, on the more crunchy side. Between the salad and chicken, we were both satisfied and just full enough. Happy with our dinner and our waitress, so would be happy to return again!

The moody speakeasy vibe was cool and our server was friendly, but the problem is nothing on the menu is very appealing or affordable. I decided to gamble on the 3 taco flight. Mexican food in Hawaii is always a gamble, but these were the worst tacos I've ever had in my life. They were comically small and, unfortunately, quite disgusting. Especially the tortilla, which was made from ulu and tasted like oily construction paper. The presentation was pretty underwhelming as well and did not include any salsa or hot sauce. When asked, the server offered Tabasco. Really?! But the real crime was the $27 price tag. We're all used to Hawaii prices, but come on. How can you charge NINE DOLLARS per tiny taco with a straight face? The drinks I had were ok, but nothing super memorable. To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

The Azn fellow who also took care of us let us look at the bottles of special bourbon we drank: Four Roses & Blantons both tr the Aoki Collection. Regarding the ambiance its whimsical inside. I didn't look on the lanai, but I understand you can smoke cigars out there. The background music was jazz and the occasional Motown hit (Stylistics). My cuz who lives in Kaimukī has neva been to RM 38. I promised to add him to the res next time. Its a lot easier to get in vs another speakeasy in Chinatown, and its walking distance from where I always stay at the Moana.
