We arrived early for lunch, and by the time we left the place was full. The food was outstanding. We shared our appetizers, the General Tso's cauliflower was sooo good, as was the crab rangoons. Our mains were the chopped salad and the spicy chicken sandwich. The salad was dressed perfectly with a light caesar type salad dressing. This place is great. We decided to do a brunch somewhere new. It was 6 of us and we wanted to sit outside ( I think most people had the same idea because the deck was packed ). The indoors decor is a "whatever", the outside is just lovely because you get the breeze. The plate size are pretty big. We left pretty full. There were some dishes that could have been shared between two people. Service was good. My only complaint is that two people in our party ordered a fish dish and when it got to the table we could smell it was rotten. They hid the smell because it was deep fried, that's why so many people were eating it but we're not dumb, we're from Cuba and know good seafood. This was the only restaurant on the Intracoastal, from where we were staying. I honestly had high expectations. Parking, only parking available in the parking lot of the restaurant is valet for $8. We had to park across the street at a bank. Drinks we had the mango, jalapeño margaritas. If you like margaritas definitely try it. They were 10 out of 10. Bartender at the small inside bar was very nice that's where we had our first round of Rita's while we waited for our table. Once we sat we ordered another round of Rita's just as amazing as the first. I looked at the menu and nothing caught my attention. So I asked our server for suggestions. He suggested one of the burgers on the menu and the chicken and shrimp fried rice. I was real wanting seafood but not on that menu had what I was craving. So I went with the suggested fried rice. My wife got some smashed burger . When the food came out it looked good. The dish was very flavorful but it was soggy rice. I didn't try my wife's burger but she said it was very good. I would have given this restaurant 2 stars if it wasn't for the friendly staff and margaritas. Let me just say before you cross the bride when your walking towards the beach on e Atlantic Ave you will notice the lights on the river and then you will notice lots of people talking and then some live music and you will add this to your memory ....I've been living in Delray Beach for 6 months and only recently have I come to this place. A gem of a place. It's less expensive than a trip to Jamaica or Bermuda. They have good drinks like I sampled yesterday. I had the frose which is frozen white rose I think. I had a few and didn't get completely s___faced which is a good thing I suppose. I felt very manly after the Frose :) To add to that island vibe they have live band karaoke playing in the back. My wife's flew into town and we decided from the airport we wanted to take him to a casual waterside restaurant. We decided on Deck 84, excellent decision. Plane was slightly delayed so I called the restaurant, the young was both courteous and pleasant, no problem. Valet parking was super easy. We were seated immediately with an impressive view of the Intra Coastal. Our server, Brook, was, sounds familiar, courteous and professional. I really enjoyed my visit to Deck 84! My grandparents brought me here for dinner since they live in the area - it's the perfect place to bring visitors. We loved being right on the water, seeing boats go by and the bridge lift and lower. If you're eating here, definitely request to eat outside so you can be right on the water. If you can be on the lower level of the two areas I would recommend it, the top bar area seemed very loud. Deck 84 has an extensive menu - anyone should be able to find something here! I was between the sushi and coconut chicken salad - but I went with the coconut chicken. Warning that it's not just a salad with chicken on top - it's a full crusted chicken breast with a side salad! It was a pleasant surprise and very delicious. The chicken was perfectly crisp and the coconut added the perfect hint of sweetness. The salad on the side was also delicious - however I felt the spinach could use a little less of the marinade since it got a little soggy. The rest of my family also really enjoyed their meals! My husband and I came here for a date night on a Saturday night. The restaurant is in a pretty cool location on the edge of downtown Delray Beach, right along the water. It has great views of the boats passing by. Parking can be an issue, thought they do offer valet for $6. The outside deck and bar area was pretty packed, but we chose to wait because it was a beautiful night and we wanted to appreciate the view. The outside deck has many TVs and tables, as well as a pretty large circular bar area - a pretty good atmosphere...the complete opposite of the inside, which felt like an outdated, drab diner. We had to wait for a bit, but then managed to snag a couple of seats at the bar. I will say service at the bar was quite slow, but maybe that's because of how busy the place was. We did eventually get taken care of, and the bartenders were friendly at least. My husband had a light IPA beer, which he enjoyed, and I got the Deck Punch, which was quite enjoyable. As far as food, we shared the spinach artichoke dip, which was delicious. My husband got the empanadas, which he liked it but I thought were too overdone. I got the burger, which was pretty good. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Pro tip - check the back of the menu for the daily happy hour special. On Mondays, they offer a buy one dip, get one free so we had to order a smoked fish and spinach dip. Both were very good. Weekday lunch with some of the girls. We wanted to go somewhere with outdoor seating and close to the water. It is right on the Intracoastal. The service was great. Our server was personable, you can tell she actually liked her job. We all ordered cherry sprites and you can tel The sprite was almost ouy. She took it upon herself to fix the machine rather than just saying okay. The remade drinks were perfect. I got the Blackened chicken wings which came with 9. The dry rub on them were very flavorful and the crunchiness was spot in bc I truly hate saggy skin chicken wings. I came here with my family who were visiting from out of town. Looking for a casual restaurant on the water. We found Deck 84 and decided to give it a try. We thought the food was very good. We had the Smashburger, blackened fish sandwich, an omelette, and the chicken and shrimp fried rice. All the food was delicious. The service was friendly and timely. We only had one issue and it was with our cocktails, and without asking the manager refunded us for the cost, because they were not up to par for his standards. There is no parking so only valet which was inconvenient but since the first arrival had already checked his truck we opted to do the same. First negative. Pickups don't work well in those situation. We were great at the door by a friendly hostess and seated immediately which is a positive. We asked for patio but were seated inside with a window view so a neutral. Our waitress was a lot of fun and did an excellent job. She was friendly and knowledgeable. I opted for the salad with grilled shrimp and the house dressing. Someone forgot to season the shrimp as they were bland. The vinaigrette was also not very flavorful which was disappointing. The tea was good. There was another salad and a fish of the day also at the table. Food was ok but just ok and for the parking hassle and the price I would have expected much better. I've been popping in to Deck 84 over the past few years as it's in a great location and usually has something for everyone. With that said, I think last night was my last visit. I tried three times to make a reservation for a birthday party of 14 - all of whom are local and have been to Deck 84 numerous times - no one called back but I finally was able to make one over the phone. Our server, Adam, was terrific - no complaints whatsoever. He was friendly and efficient. The problem is the food - menu is way overpriced for the atmosphere and quality. In fact, they are nearly the same price as J&J's Seafood, La Casa L'Acqua, and La Cigale - restaurants that are way out of the league of Deck 84 which is a glorified pub. Unfortunately the burgers weren't even that good and most of us were served cold fries. The Manager was great by having the fries recooked and a burger was comped after sending it back twice. In fact I have no problem with management as they gave us a 10% discount and eliminated the $10 cake fee. They need a new chef and a better menu. $30 for fish and chips? $20 for a bad burger? Not terrible but if you can't make those easy meals tasty and looking good on a plate, you need a new chef. How about better buns? Pickles? Relish? PIckled onions? $45 for short ribs? The service here just added to the overall positive experience. Service can truly make or break an experience. Poor service can ruin an experience no matter how good the food just as much as great service can make a mediocre meal acceptable. But the real thing I came here to say was about the house cocktails and standard cocktails. These were some of the worst drinks I've ever had. The cocktails varied from watered down to insanely sugary. I even ordered a basic cocktail to see if it was just the bartender and turns out it was. Immediately it falls into a puddle-like mess.You get about 4 pickled onion slices, one jalepeno and basic crackers. It's pretty gross actually. It's like watery and nasty looking and the brown paper starts to shred and combine with the fish dip as you try to scoop it up with your skinny little cracker.
