I ordered the baja fish tacos and which I saw were one of the items that were popular. I ordered them blackened and opted out of the jalapeños since I can't do spicy. These bad boys cost $22!!!! Crazy expensive for 3 street sized tacos. This place should have $$$ instead of $$. Honestly they were underwhelming. I felt full for maybe an hour but was hungry after that. Sitting water side was nice, but it was next to a draw bridge with a lot of traffic. I suppose they keep it loud to take your attention away from it. We came for a late snack after cruising on Lady Atlantic across the way along the Intercostal. This is also on the intercostal which is a fabulous spot. Unfortunately, they only had inside tables available. We were lucky however to have had Michele as our waitress who is sweet as pie and very efficient. We were two couples who both ordered exactly the same thing. Baja fish tacos and we shared one entree each with our husbands. The order consisted of 3 tacos each. It was tasty, and it hit the spot. First time here! Checked in and the hostess said 20-30 min wait; was only about 5-10, which was excellent! Had a table on the water. All the food was on point--fish dip, mussels and fries, and fish tacos. The draft beer was, well incredible! I asked if Pacifico was a fresh keg and the waitress said, "We go through a lot of beer." The only thing that I don't like is that you are charged for parking I find it kind of annoying when I go to a restaurant for a meal and pay the price that I also have to pay the restaurant for parking. This place lost its desire years ago but survives because it's under a big restaurant group. Came for my yearly attempt since the location is great and on the intracoastal but Bartender was tactless and passive-aggressive. She complained 3x to my date and I about how we sat at the wrong bar seats, directly in front on the taps & register. Not understanding the problem, We politely let her know the other available seats were dirty and these were available. Short-to the point service with no desire to have customer engagement, we were pushed order quickly and we're not offered the specials. At 8:27pm we realized why. She must have plans after work. "Do you need anything else, we close at 9pm" With over 5 stables still seated, another couple and us still finishing our meal at the bar, she turns the TV off at 8:45 & Reminds my date that he needs to pay the bill (that she dropped five minutes ago without our request) We pay, start to stand up, and this woman shoves herself between us and hurriedly clears our plates. While in the process of standing up and using the bar top to lean on with one hand, she yanks my napkin from under my hand in her brazen attempt to clock out exactly at 9pm. There were still tables seated when we left at 9:01. Classless bartender needs some customer service training or this place just needs a total revamp. read more

I'm honestly shocked at how not great the food was at this location. I'll start by saying the location is amazing, the vibes are great! It's right on the inter coastal, and they have great outdoor seating and the ambiance outside is wonderful. The food however leaves something to be desired. I'm assuming people leave great reviews due to the location trumping all but I'm here for the food! The crispy cornmeal-crusted chicken was basically inedible. Please see the photos. The breading was extremely dry, seemed unaffected by cooking (usually when fried or baked the breading gets golden brown)-- it was the same color as it would be prior to cooking. See photos. The chicken was extremely dry as well. The word that kept coming to mind was abhorrent. One of the worst cooked chicken breasts I've ever had. It was bizarre. I couldn't eat most of it. We had two fry orders on the table which were both cold. The Hawaiian fried rice--- my in laws had asked if it's spicy because they can't eat spicy foods and the waitress said not at all, and it ended up being too spicy to eat. We didn't send anything back, but it was overall a terrible dining experience. The vibes and views are great but the food should be revamped. I'm so surprised at the high rating this place has. Other food positives: the shrimp skewers were cooked well and very good. Salmon was cooked well. I give it 2/5 for kind service, and good vibes/views. read more

We were in Delray Beach for the afternoon/evening and had to stop by as Deck 84 came up high in the list for restaurants in the area! As we were driving from the heart of Atlantic, we passed Deck 84 at first and had to turnaround. If you get to the beach (across the inter coastal bridge), you've gone too far. Deck 84 does have valet parking behind the restaurant in a private lot and it's $6 (no validation provided by restaurant). I honestly thought it was pretty tacky as expensive as the restaurant is to not validate parking (as parking is pretty limited in the area). I didn't even recall seeing anything on their website about parking charges. You can park on the other side of Atlantic in the shopping center with Chico's (next to the public park), and city parking is free. They have a sign saying parking was available until 9pm, but we stayed until after that and didn't have any notices on our car. We came in on Labor Day weekend and called ahead and asked for reservations and was told they weren't taking reservations for Labor Day weekend. So when we drove up and were surprised about the valet charge and didn't know if we could even get a table for a party of 2, we almost left and went somewhere else. So after we got in the restaurant after all the hassle, we were immediately seated outdoors and views are amazing of the inter coastal. Our server came by and warmly greeted us and welcomed us on our first visit. She provided a few recommendations and placed our drink order. We ordered a bottle of wine for around $25. For food, we started with the Deck 84 Chopped Salad ($14). Salad was very fresh and tasty and was a good portion for two to share. For the main course, we ordered the BBQ pork sandwich on special for the holiday weekend (think it was around $17), and included a side of fries. The sandwich was very tasty and was a good portion. Overall, service and food quality were really great. I would have rated them 5 stars for this, but I docked it one star for the restaurant's attitude on not offering reservations for Labor Day weekend (considering the restaurant was a quarter of the way full). And not validating their own parking also I thought was ridiculous. Would I come back? I honestly don't know. Competition is too tough in the restaurant industry to be dealing with the negatives this restaurant provides. read more

I can just say incredible ambience. We just played pinball the place down the street and wanted something to eat and somebody recommended deck 84. It was a Saturday at about five in the afternoon and they were packed but we did get a table and we were certainly glad we did, we were on the deck looking out over the intercoastal and we all ordered rum drinks. I had the rum punch, can't go wrong there. Somebody else had a piña colada and I'm not sure but one might've been a mai tai. All the drinks were delicious, and we just loved watching the boats go by. I ordered the fried fish sandwich with french fries, well done. We also ordered the prime beef burger and the Baja fish tacos. Everything came out rather quickly and the plates look spectacular. There wasn't one complaint and everybody ate everything and raved about it. I ordered the fish sandwich fried, but I didn't realize I could've gotten it blackened . Either way it was a spectacular sandwich. The fish tacos looked really good and the fact that they were completely eating up means that they were really good. We had a wonderful time here, and the food was so much better than my previous visit. We were seated at a lovely table overlooking the inter-coastal, with a friendly server. We arrived early for lunch, and by the time we left the place was full. The food was outstanding. We shared our appetizers, the General Tso's cauliflower was sooo good, as was the crab rangoons. Our mains were the chopped salad and the spicy chicken sandwich. The salad was dressed perfectly with a light caesar type salad dressing. The chicken was juicy and the fries that came with it were perfect, crispy on the outside soft on the inside. I can't wait to go back. read more

I've been popping in to Deck 84 over the past few years as it's in a great location and usually has something for everyone. With that said, I think last night was my last visit. I tried three times to make a reservation for a birthday party of 14 - all of whom are local and have been to Deck 84 numerous times - no one called back but I finally was able to make one over the phone. Our server, Adam, was terrific - no complaints whatsoever. He was friendly and efficient. The problem is the food - menu is way overpriced for the atmosphere and quality. In fact, they are nearly the same price as J&J's Seafood, La Casa L'Acqua, and La Cigale - restaurants that are way out of the league of Deck 84 which is a glorified pub. Unfortunately the burgers weren't even that good and most of us were served cold fries. The Manager was great by having the fries recooked and a burger was comped after sending it back twice. In fact I have no problem with management as they gave us a 10% discount and eliminated the $10 cake fee. They need a new chef and a better menu. $30 for fish and chips? $20 for a bad burger? Not terrible but if you can't make those easy meals tasty and looking good on a plate, you need a new chef. How about better buns? Pickles? Relish? PIckled onions? $45 for short ribs? Great atmosphere with live music and right on the water. Have a boat? You can pull right up, park, and enjoy. It's a dog friend spot. Celina our waitress was super attentive and amazing. We ordered the fried calamari and zucchini which was really good and a huge appetizer. The cheeseburger egg rolls were like a eating a Big Mac from McDonald's. This was the only restaurant on the Intracoastal, from where we were staying. I honestly had high expectations. Parking, only parking available in the parking lot of the restaurant is valet for $8. We had to park across the street at a bank. Drinks we had the mango, jalapeño margaritas. If you like margaritas definitely try it. They were 10 out of 10. Bartender at the small inside bar was very nice that's where we had our first round of Rita's while we waited for our table. Once we sat we ordered another round of Rita's just as amazing as the first. I looked at the menu and nothing caught my attention. So I asked our server for suggestions. He suggested one of the burgers on the menu and the chicken and shrimp fried rice. I was real wanting seafood but not on that menu had what I was craving. So I went with the suggested fried rice. My wife got some smashed burger . When the food came out it looked good. The dish was very flavorful but it was soggy rice. I didn't try my wife's burger but she said it was very good. I would have given this restaurant 2 stars if it wasn't for the friendly staff and margaritas. My wife's flew into town and we decided from the airport we wanted to take him to a casual waterside restaurant. We decided on Deck 84, excellent decision. Plane was slightly delayed so I called the restaurant, the young was both courteous and pleasant, no problem. Valet parking was super easy. We were seated immediately with an impressive view of the Intra Coastal. Our server, Brook, was, sounds familiar, courteous and professional. The General Tsao's Cauliflower was Spectacular, and a huge portion. They got fish tacos, Mahi, and I got the grilled fish sandwich. All tasty, delicious and a healthy portion. This place is great. We decided to do a brunch somewhere new. It was 6 of us and we wanted to sit outside ( I think most people had the same idea because the deck was packed ). The indoors decor is a "whatever", the outside is just lovely because you get the breeze. The plate size are pretty big. We left pretty full. There were some dishes that could have been shared between two people. Service was good. My only complaint is that two people in our party ordered a fish dish and when it got to the table we could smell it was rotten. They hid the smell because it was deep fried, that's why so many people were eating it but we're not dumb, we're from Cuba and know good seafood. Just keep an eye out on the fish it may or may not be fresh. Anyways, everything was great, we enjoyed it very much. You have to valet park unless you want to walk over. read more
