We left a credit card deposit for half of our meal and made reservations weeks in advance. Taki Omakase's curated 18-course chef's choice menu offers traditional Japanese nigiri and cutting-edge, innovative seafood & wagyu dishes. The seafood is flown here directly from Japan using specialized torch-searing and Binchotan charcoal grilling, some dishes finished with the opulence of genuine gold flakes. The menu celebrates bold flavors and exotic textures, featuring luxurious accents such as truffle, foie gras, yuzu, and plum. We found street parking in front & opened the nondescript door with Japanese characters. We had one of the 12 seats at tonights only seating. We chose the Delray location which is more modern than the traditional Omakase at the Mizner Park, Boca Raton restaurant . I appreciated the opportunity to engage with Patrick our Michellen star chef while watching him prepare each course with precision & love. We started by sharing Tatenyan Kitty sake that was light of fragrant with a gentle, sweetness and dry finish that was well balanced. I enjoyed watching Patrick prepare each dish some torched, with gold dust, charcoal, and minut details with tweezers. Patrick told us about each course & the ingredients contained. He gave us the Japanese name of each fish as well as the American translation. Every piece of fish was buttery, interesting & exceptional. The food quality is amazing, our sushi chef Vincent is awesome and every piece of the omakase was delicious and well made. I love how our 17 course set includes hot and cold items. My favorite was the Miso cod and Wagyu steak. There's nigiri pieces, a hand roll and a nice sorbet to end the night. Besides uni, my highlights were the sea bream and mackerel. I also requested hot water with lemon and it came in a pot with a tea candle, very well presented! I was impressed. Our dining sets were cleared very efficiently. Wish the servers would be more friendly and smiled more though. What left a bad impression was the server was in such a rush to check out our group, she ran my card twice and then said she refunded and ran my husband's card once but upon checking my CC statement, nothing was refunded so we were charged 3 times for 2 people. When I called to clarify, she said there's nothing she could do as everything on their end was correct and I needed to contact my bank. This is the most expensive meal we ever have had. The meal here is an experience and the taste of the food is a 15 out of 10. A Japanese restaurant in Delray Beach on Atlantic Ave near the drawbridge that leads to the beach. They offer an 18 course meal offering traditional Japanese food. Patrick our Michelin server chef cooked an exceptional meal for us all (6 of us at the 6PM seating) and was very personable. He explained each course before we ate it. Patrick prepared each course right in front of us. Each piece of fish was buttery and just exceptional! Some of the courses were prepared with gold dust and charcoal adding to the serving. Dined here last night for the 8 PM slot with the husband. We luckily got the whole place to ourselves so let's pretend we got our own private omakase hehe You never think you'll get full when it comes to these small multiple course meals, but by the end, I was stuffed and disassociating trying to finish the last pieces. Everything tasted fresh and we enjoyed every bite (even when I was feeling so full). Chef Vincent was great. We really enjoyed talking with him and he was super kind and knowledgeable. We loved watching him work and he put a lot of care into every dish. He explained what everything served was and answered any questions we had. Honestly, I don't remember half of the things he said about what was what, but I greatly enjoyed eating it. The waitress was extremely attentive and sweet as well! I dined here for the 18 course omakase experience. This was probably one of the most amazing dining experiences that I've had in Palm Beach County, definitely the best omakase I've had outside of Japan. From start to finish every single course was absolutely delicious and the chefs preparing the food were so skilled in the art of Japanese dish preparation. The experience is pricey, but well worth it... Treat yourself! The service was spectacular as well. I couldn't decide which type of sake I wanted to try so I was able to taste a couple of them and choose the one that was just right for me. The servers also cleared every plate very quickly, refilled my ginger multiple times because I absolutely love ginger and ate it between every course, and they filled my cup with sake and water all night. I truly felt like they were not just giving you a meal but making sure that you have the best full culinary experience possible. This restaurant is located right on the Ave and there's not a whole lot of signage so you may miss it when you're first looking for it. The space is very small and intimate with counter seating around the chef's table and that's it! I was there for a solo date, it seemed like people were there for business meetings, there was a birthday celebration, and a wedding anniversary happening as well. I'll definitely be back! Be mindful when booking your reservation....you must put a deposit down in order to seal the deal. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately. The decor is very nice and I liked the choice in music playing in the background; more of a house style but very chill. You"ll catch yourself singing along at the table. There's only room for about 12 people so the show starts soon as everyone arrives. (DON'T BE LATE) Besides understanding that the menu consisted of about 90% raw seafood I didn't quite know what to expect as far as flavor. We were BLOWN AWAY!! The chefs explained every dish and were very attentive throughout the whole experience. If you aren't used to eating high amounts of raw food I would take it slow here. This omakase was the best I've had in Florida yet! The ambiance was typical for a higher end omakase, but one fun fact that the chef told us is that "taki" means waterfall and the entire back wall has a gentle waterfall trickling throughout the meal. As for the experience, the chef was very friendly and interactive, and the dishes were very thoughtfully constructed. One of the highlights that I wish I caught on film was searing one of the fish, but instead of using a torch, he used a coal from burning cherry blossom wood! Really cool to be in a small setting with a chef for us and 2 other people (they seat a total of 12 people with 3 dedicated chef) The 18 courses was fantastic. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was not just dinner, it was a true culinary experience. The Japanese A5 Wagyu was unbelievable, the Chilean sea bass marinated for two days was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had, and the fat belly tuna flown in from Japan, topped with caviar, was simply unforgettable. The balance of flavors, presentation, and precision behind every bite was extraordinary. What made the night even more special was the hospitality. I mentioned ahead of time that we were celebrating our friend's birthday, and the staff went above and beyond. But it's small and private. It's next door to the Hawkers Asian Street Food establishment, which we went a grabbed a drink from since we arrived to Taki a bit early and they had their doors locked still. We got courses of ají, cherry flounder, otoro, and sea scallop to name a few. Our server, Airin, was also fantastic. She personalizes the sake flight to everyone, depending on your tastes and the course being served. The restaurant itself is cozy and the dinnerware is gorgeous. The atmosphere was very quaint . 5 of us went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed each course as the chef explained the ingredients in detail. The first course was a light refreshing Zarusoba. The fish the at followed were exquisite. The final course was a dessert which resembled a light pudding with azuki beans. I ordered the flight of sake and our server selected each glass to perfectly match the course. One word of advice, please look at your bill very closely. I was charged for a dinner course instead of lunch and it was my fault that I overlooked this (after having 5 glasses of sake). What an experience! This is one of the BEST omakase experiences we have been to! Big ups to the restaurant and staff because they can accommodate gluten allergies (Celiac). I watched our chef meticulously make everyone their nigiri and separate mine every time and use gluten-free soy sauce on mine. He always handed me mine first, then theirs, and wiped and washed his hands after every course. This is so important because a small amount of gluten cross contamination can make me very sick. They didn't really know what all contained gluten in everything, so it's very important that if you book the experience, you yourself should know what you can and can't have because they will ask you. So the experience is 18 courses, and there were a few extras like the starter dishes and the final dessert. Every single thing was fantastic, like 5/5. Some had caviar toppers, and one had gold glitter. Some were handrolls. A soup dish was served. We had Chef Ben, who did a great job. We are not from the area, so we had a little bit of a hard time locating the restaurant and then finding street parking. Atlantic Ave has a lot of street parking that you can pay for with the Park Mobile app, so just leave early so you are on time. I highly recommend this restaurant and their second location in Boca. I will definitely be back. Tackling 18+ courses is a feat for me, I left very, very full! read more

I believe about 12 seats. Reservation only. I think it's an 18 course adventure. I've had my best bite of food in this place and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. Just when you think you've had your favorite bite, the next one comes and it's the best bite. It continues on like this until the end. It's a curated course. You do not choose what you eat and while you maybe aren't adventurous, it's worth trying what they put in front of you. If you're allergic or opposed to anything, they ask before service begins and they will substitute that particular bite for you. Vincent is one of the Chefs and always makes us feel welcomed and among friends. We go here for special occasions or any other excuse we can find. The menu is constantly changing, so even though we've been here a dozen times, we've never had the same course twice. There is an excellent Sake selection, the Yuzi refresher is a good start when you arrive. They do Tuna cutting, but we haven't been able to get a reservation for that. Maybe in the future. We were warned at the beginning that sushi as we knew it, was about to be ruined for us, they were so right. The restaurant is stunningly beautiful. A mouthwatering experience at Taki! A bit tucked away on the east side of Atlantic Ave. You'll pass Taki if you're not paying close attention. From the outside, the interior of the restaurant is mostly hidden. This omakase gem brings a stop to Japan right in Delray for $150/person. If you make a reservation online ahead of time, you'll get charged 50% prior to arriving. If you make it with the restaurant, your card is placed on hold and you pay the entire bill after dinner. Most omakase places start right on time so I was really grateful when it started 10-15 minutes late because my guest was late. The servers took drink orders and the chefs introduced themselves and asked if there were anyone with allergies. The restaurant only consists of a sushi counter and the 2 chefs divide the guests that they serve. I don't want to detail all the courses that I ate because I personally like the element of surprise. I liked when the sushi chef explain what fish it was and handed it off to you. I wouldn't want to take away from anyone's experience but just a few of the cuts of fish that I had were fatty tuna, eel, scallop, red snapper, and uni. They used top quality and fresh fish. I am a big fan of uni and theirs was to die for. Our chef was really excited about their next locations opening up. I wish them the best of luck as they have a smash with this one. The two servers are exceptional and friendly. Fast to respond to any needs. The sushi chef and assistant were personable and explained every fish and preparation for the particular dish/sushi. The quality of fish used was the highest level possible. The unique flavors will be remembered and desired for a lifetime. I recommend the sake sampler for this experience. Surprised my wife for our anniversary, and it was by far the best gift she received. She was thrilled and was very impressed. They even set flowers, wishing us a happy anniversary by name. An absolutely fantastic meal. They really know what they're doing here. Chef Vincent took care of me. I got lucky and called in and got a last minute reservation. I was blown away by the attention to detail that goes into every dish and the way they prep everything. The eel was slow cooked for at least 30 minutes in front of me over hot stones. He used those same stones to sear some toro. Flew in some incredible Japanese shrimp and cooked them perfectly, then immediately placed into an ice bath in front of us, peeled, and built us the most incredible ebi nigiri I've had in my entire life. Clam miso was thrown in the mix, brought out a beautiful piece of Chilean sea bass and ended with some homemade ice cream. My husband and I tried Omakase for the first time at the new location in Delray, and I loved the entire experience. As someone who typically does not "explore" new fish, I was hesitant to try Omakase, but I am so glad I did! The Omakase courses were all delicious, none were "fishy" except for the Sea urchin. Most people do not like Sea urchins but it was cool to try it! I was really surprised with the variety of food items offered. The service was also impressive; the girls were friendly, attentive, and open to answer any questions. There were a few downsides to Taki. It extremely hard to hear the chef over the noise of the other diners and music. He was very quiet. I found myself asking multiple times for him to repeat himself. I would suggest a board or a visual aid to help identify each course. Most of the courses, I couldn't even rename if I tried. Additionally, the restaurant did not offer tap water and we ended up paying quite a bit for water. You would think this would be an option when you are paying $150 per person for the experience. With tax, tip, and drinks almost $500! Overall, I really loved the experience at Taki. I would definitely recommend giving Taki Omakase a try for a special occasion. read more
