After hearing about their bloody Mary, I knew I had to come and do a brunch. And do a brunch I did! The bloody Mary bar was quite extensive. Many seasonings, hot sauces as well as were available for the bloody Mary mixtures. They gave you unlimited Greygoose refills for two hours and then you can go up there and put all the topics as you please. I feel it was worth it for $28. The brunch itself was also tasty. Stopped by for their Saturday brunch and was delighted with everything. I sat on the second floor, which is large, roomy, has spectacular ocean views, and a large bar. The entire place has recently been remodeled with a new outstanding decor. I took a pleasant window seat with a good view of the beach and ocean. I had a couple of cocktails which were of generous pour and ordered their Garden Omelette. The omelette couldn't have been more tasty as they used a good cheddar cheese and it came with two delicious pork sausages. My service was polite and professional. We had a fabulous brunch here on a quiet Sunday. Our table had perfect ocean views. We both had the garden omelette with sausage and side of bacon. Everything was delicious and cooked fresh to order. The side of bacon was crisp and meaty and definitely a good size portion. We had some time to kill before our flight out later that afternoon so we moved to the bar and were able to watch a soccer match on the TV. The drinks were poured very well, service was top notch. All things considered it was a good experience but the price to content ratio was a little below average so it's a mixed review. The Korean bbq pork belly was good, nothing special. The Caesar was great, above average overall from my experience with salads. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked, great texture, and decent flavor. It was a good cut and not chewy so I enjoyed that experience. The view was great as it overlooks the ocean and it's a nice classy ambiance inside. My issues primarily were that we weren't seated (ever), we eventually just made our own way over to the table that had been reserved for a time 45 minutes prior (would've been nice if someone after 15 would've asked if the whole party was there and would like to get seated) It took a long time to have our orders even taken, which after the initial wait made it feel like we may never eat. With a sizable group, only putting our food order in over an hour after everyone was initially expected to sit was a bit of a rupture point. Starting with apps and drinks instead of just drinks would've helped a lot... but the biggest thing... no bread? When you go to an expensive place, sure I want to save my appetite for the meal, but when you haven't eaten and aren't going to eat until 2 hours after your reservation, something to hold everyone over would've been nice, and usually that would be a standard of any restaurant at this caliber price point. Definitely a lot of hungry bellies which could be visibly felt. Overall food was good, environment was nice, and service was reasonable; but really should consider a little more order to operations and a small gesture of bread for the table could go a long way in impressions. read more

50 Ocean is a beautiful restaurant and the only one that fully overlooks the beach in Delray Beach. The decor is lovely and modern. The cocktail list superb and they have a good happy hour in the bar area even on weekends. The bread service at dinner is well worth the $8 and the fish dishes are excellent. We loved our waitress once we had a table but both times we had to wait for our table even with a reservation. The reservation system vs bar area is convoluted with the lounge tables not having designated waitstaff. If you have time to wait, this is an excellent choice for elevated seafood looking out at the ocean. read more

I've been to 50 Ocean before a long time ago, so my friend and I decided to go last night! As soon as you go upstairs, you're greeted by the sounds of people having a great time. They have a spacious bar, and both indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is very nautical themed and I loved looking at all the pictures on the wall. We were immediately greeted by our server, Mason, who was so friendly and funny, and was very knowledgeable about the menu. He explained all of the specials and took our drink order. We started with the $8 bread plate which came with a nice loaf of bread, and various dipping sauces (Rosemary oil, balsamic vinaigrette, butter, and roasted garlic cloves) We were so hungry we forgot to take a picture of that! lol My friend had the snapper, And I had the crab crusted grouper. Both of the dishes were out of this world! The presentation was beautiful and was only surpassed by the flavor! Mason then came over and offered us the dessert lists, and we decided on a creme brulee cheesecake that was out of this world! The manager had come by to make sure that we were happy and we told him that we were thrilled. If you're looking for delicious food with a view of the ocean, look no further. The presentation was just wonderful as well as the Flavors of the Seafood. The ambience of table out on the Deck was perfect to watch the Sunset. And what could beat that Ocean view when your Adult Children are visiting from the North East , especially after all of that Snow! We went here for Mother's Day brunch and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The restaurant was not super busy and the service was unbelievably slow from start to finish. We waited an excessive amount of time to get our food and our appetizers never came. What made the experience worse was the manager's (Glenn) dismissive and rude attitude when concerns were brought up. Instead of acknowledging the delays or trying to make things right, we felt brushed off and treated like we were inconveniencing him. Mother's Day is supposed to feel special, and this experience was stressful and frustrating instead. For the prices charged, we expected much better service and professionalism. read more

I want to like this place so much, the staff are some of the best in Delray Beach, the new decor is comfortable and inviting. The view, along with the location is one of the best in Palm Beach County. However, they fall very short on the food, which is so sad. The portion size, appearance, and quality control all suffer. We started with the cinnamon roll, which was cold, the center appeared to be frozen, the liquid frosting was also ice cold. Then the Cuban sandwich, it appeared to be run over by a truck. It's contents also minimal, a tiny piece of deli ham, cheese, a pickle, and pork belly. It was incredibly sad to look at, and taste. We dine here over and over, hoping the food will improve, and it's always a disappointment, such an easy fix, but they just do not invest the time into the one area that could place Ocean 50 as the top dining experience in Delray Beach. read more

Always a great view of the ocean from "every table" Although the food is great. my wife and I had the swordfish, the service is well worth mentioning. The manager or maître D(?) Elizabeth came over to check on us several times during dinner and it wasn't a placating gesture. You could see she actually wanted to make sure we were happy with everything from the second we walk in, till she said goodbye as we entered the elevator to leave. We'll come just because of her. Had an amazing first time experience. The peartini & tropical mojito were amazing. We started with the mussels and crispy pork belly. Then finished with a crab cake, snapper and the best scallops I have had in my life. The pan seared scallops on a risotto with Parmesan, absolutely fantastic. We had amazing service from our waitress Cindy. With the view of the ocean, fantastic drinks, and amazing scallops I can confidently say this was the best dinner experience of my trip. WOW what a fun, great experience and exceptional food. Our waiter Adrian was amazing. The restaurant wasn't crowded thank goodness because we were in no hurry for anything but our cocktails - which were great. Anyways, after it took us forever to order, Adrian guided us through the menu and every delicious option we could have. The Restaurant and Location are amazing. We hadn't been to Ocean 50 for a couple years. Service is not crisp or consistent. Long wait in between courses, not all entrees served at same time. Food is overpriced for the quality. Surf and Turf special was mediocre for $85. Lobster Bisque was good and Grilled Octopus was also very good. There may not be a better location or prettier restaurant, but there are better options in Delray for Service and Food Quality. read more

Do not trust this restaurant if you need to eat gluten free for medical reasons. They have items on their menu that are marked gluten free but are not gluten free. I have Celiac disease and must eat gluten free. I ate here on a work trip. I chose the oven-roasted chicken meal which is clearly marked gluten free on the menu. I told the server that I have a gluten allergy and asked him to let the kitchen know. A few minutes after the food was brought out, the server came over to tell me that everything on the plate was gluten free EXCEPT the cornbread. I was a little shocked. I didn't understand why a meal marked gluten free on the menu included something that was not gluten free, and they put it on the plate touching all of the other food. The chicken was resting on top of the cornbread, and the potatoes were touching it. I told the server that I was uncomfortable eating the food that had been touching the cornbread because even a small crumb can cause me to be sick (the last thing I want on a work trip out of town). He took the plate away. Two minutes later, he brought the plate back out, and it was clear that they just removed the cornbread from the plate. Again, I said I was not comfortable eating it because it had been touching the gluten-filled cornbread. He seemed frustrated and said he would get a manager. I explained the situation to the manager. He was apologetic and said he would have the meal remade. They remade it and brought it out later (which meant eating after others were finished), but I barely touched it because I felt afraid that it would not be safe now that I knew they weren't taking gluten free seriously. This was a very embarrassing experience. All of this happened in front of co-workers and it unnecessarily shone a light on my medical issues. I went back to my hotel hungry and upset but thankfully not glutened. The view was nice, but that's the only positive. This happened over 2 months ago and the online menu still lists the meal as gluten free despite the fact that the cornbread is not gluten free. read more

I've been to 50 Ocean on a few different occasions, and every time it's been just lovely. Sitting on the second floor, 50 Ocean boasts a full front wall of unobstructed windows overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It's such a beautiful place to have brunch or perhaps an early dinner when it's still light enough to see outside. The inside is cozy and luxe, with dark wood and velvety blues reminiscent of the ocean. While it wasn't super crowded, I would still strongly advise making a reservation so you can get a nice table with a view. We went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate my sister's upcoming birthday. They have bottomless mimosas and an unlimited Bloody Mary bar. I haven't tried the Bloody Mary bar myself because they're a bit heavy for me to do bottomless, but my sister said it's really an excellent offering. Would definitely recommend trying if you're a Bloody Mary fan! Our server, Julie, was excellent and kept the mimosas flowing for our special meal. She didn't rush us and was very considerate to our preferred timing (we're sloowwww). She was super friendly and a pleasure to chat with as well! 10/10 service! We started with the warm cinnamon bun, which I thought could have used a tad more icing, and there were a couple of other great sounding brunch items for those with a sweet tooth. I've tried the Baker's Basket before too, which is 3 Guava & Cheese turnovers, and that's quite good. I went with the Hanger Steak & Eggs for my meal, and my sister had the Grouper Sandwich. The Hanger Steak was great! It's topped with Chimichurri and served alongside two eggs, white beans, and thick toast. The steak was cooked the way I liked but just slightly chewy, however I think that's more or less just the nature of the hanger steak cut. The chimichurri really made the the flavor of the steak and the dish overall just perfect. My sister enjoyed her Grouper sandwich as well. It was a nice thick cut of fish. I would highly recommend 50 Ocean for an upscale brunch or dinner. Though it is a higher end restaurant, our brunch was very reasonably priced and actually on the lower end compared to the price of some brunches I've been to in Miami. Their food is delicious, the service is great, and the view is to die for. Can't wait to go back! read more
