Stopped on our way between the coast and Corvallis. Excellent lunch. One of us had the Mushroom/Swiss Burger and I had the Reuben Sandwich. The meat on the burger was great and in the Reuben it was fall-apart tender. Good onion rings too. Will be back whenever we go to town. read more

First time the food was not good. Pork chops were very dry. The clam chowder did not taste like clam chowder. It was awful. The waitress did not bring it before my meal. I was not sure if I was getting a veggie or not. I wish the waitress would of told me what the veggie was because I don't like broccoli. Make it a destination! We stopped here while passing through Alsea (why is it listed here as being in "Southwest Benton"?) on our way to the coast. We were expecting a greasy spoon but found a charming little cafe. Deb herself served us, and did the cooking; it was busy so lunch was a little delayed, but not nearly as long as I would have expected for a woman who managed to cheerfully greet, seat, serve, and cook for several tables all at once. We relaxed and waited for our lunch while enjoying the homemade split pea soup. Lunch proper was a meatloaf sandwich and chicken Caesar salad, both of which were far better than one usually finds. We were too full for dessert, which was truly a shame, as the pie case held several inviting items. I asked Deb if she made everything herself and she replied in the affirmative. Personally I get very happy when I see an unphotogenic pie in a restaurant case; it means the pie wasn't constructed in a factory somewhere and shipped frozen. "That one got cut before it set up right" she said, indicating a mandarin-orange cream pie she said she'd thought of at 2:30 AM one recent night. I have been fantasizing about that messy, oozy deliciousness ever since. There was also a banana cream pie, some fruit pies and some small things she called mock-pecan hillbillies. As we left we asked about the pies and she informed us she bakes up to 35 pies a week in the summertime. Holy crap, now I am obsessed with pie. Come here expecting simple 'fill-you-up' diner food. My husband likes their breakfast a lot but, i have yet to try it. I think they have some really delicious hand cut fries, something I have ordered consistently! But the PIES! Do not skip dessert, it is truly the best part of the whole meal! Deb makes the most delicious pies and cobblers! They are always different and always amazing. read more

We stop here once or twice a month on our way to Corvallis. No complaints until our last visit on 7/18/15. It was 45 minutes from the time we sat down until we received our food. My over easy egg yolks were broke, my wife's medium hard eggs were over easy, the hash browns under cooked, and my grand-daughters pigs in an blankets, under cooked. The waitress pretty much ignored us. Add that a local came in about 10 minutes after us and had his food about 15 minutes ahead of us just drops this place to the bottom of the list. They did offer to re-cook our food, but we were not interested in waiting what? another 45 mintues. We will think twice before stopping here again. read more

My sister and I stopped in at Deb's last week and we're so glad we did. Excellent quality, home cooked food. We enjoyed the freshness of the bread and veggies on our sandwiches. The pies are homemade and SO good! Don't miss this place. read more

We love the ride to Alsea from Corvallis (beautiful forests and farm land). It was our first time to eat at Deb's Cafe and we are now going to be "regulars." We went for Saturday breakfast and one of us enjoyed a delicious half order of her biscuits and gravy and the other order included perfectly made over easy eggs, potatoes and toast. The coffee (several refills) was so good as was the service. Cheerful and attentive. The feeling is warm, casual and inviting. It is a perfect stop if you are headed to the coast but also is a very fine destination spot. read more

Stopped here on a motorcycle day trip. It's everything you would like in a roadside diner, and more. Servings were large and prices low relative to what you got, at least in the eyes of these city folk. The husband had blueberry crumble with ice cream - yes, for lunch. It was really great and the amount of ice cream that came with it was comically large. A very friendly and welcoming young man served us. Overall a great experience. We will stop again. read more

We stopped here for lunch after hiking the local falls trails. Cafe was moderately crowded, but we were seated quickly. Service was great and efficient. Hamburgers were fantastic. Homemade fries and iced tea were delicious. Very comfortable and friendly place. The desserts (pies, cheesecake, cobblers, etc) all home made, beckoned, but we were stuffed. All in all, a superb visit. We will definitely be back - and will talk Deb's up with friends. read more

Awesome homemade strawberry jam! I had the taco omelet. Omg! It was chock full of chopped sirloin olives onions bell peppers and cheese of course. Topped witb a nice dollop of sour cream. We work in different areas in the North State and are always looking for a Great Breakfast spot.We have another to add to our list. Debs is a cozy diner with Good Homemade food. Good service from start to finish and even a Great Smile from the cook in the kitchen. Nothing fancy but just the way we like it, Clean, Good Food and Feeling full when you leave all with most prices under 10 bucks. So if you're hungry check it out in your travels. read more

It's comfort food and friendly and really the only restaurant for miles around. Thumbs up for Burgers, fries, shakes and small town charm. The milk shakes are notably good! There's indoor seating but I prefer sitting on their outdoor patio. It's a gorgeous scenic drive along the alsea river to the coast and Debs cafe is a welcome pit stop for classic Americana food. read more

I've probably had at least 450 open faced hot beef dinner sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy and this was the first one I've had with no mashed potatoes and gravy even though the menu said it came with mashed potatoes and gravy. Out came a tiny plate with over toasted bread and "scratch" gravy definitely wasn't scratch. When I inquired about this mess up I was told " I must've misunderstood ". Huh!?! So for 11$ I got maybe 1$ worth of food. What a lousy experience. Maybe Uncle Jed and Granny and Jethro like this place but I certainly don't recommend this place. read more

On our way from the coast, too hungry to wait until we hit Corvallis, and we saw this little place and stopped in. So happy that we did! Although it was relatively busy, we were served promptly and our breakfast came out after a very short wait. The pancakes are large, fluffy, and delicious; served with heated maple syrup and whipped butter. My egg was perfectly cooked. The bacon. Oh my, the bacon. It was easily the best restaurant bacon that I've had. I asked Deb about it and she replied that there were no shortcuts to good flavor. She buys the best quality, even if it means a smaller profit margin. My husband ordered french toast and it was also perfectly prepared and delicious. The homemade pies in the display case looked beautiful and now I'm wondering why I didn't pick up a few slices to take home. Next time. There will definitely be a next time. read more

stopped here, and very glad we did! we were headed towards waldport to fly fish the alsea river and needed a good breakfast to start the trip. deb's cafe was more than we had hoped for, after seeing very bleak options since we had left portland. went in and ordered deb's chicken fried chicken and a plate of biscuits and gravy and a couple coffees, and left full and satisfied. best customer service, not too over the top, yet not too inattentive. the orange cream slice of pie i got to go was amazing as well! read more

We LOVE Deb's Café! Every time we head up to the Oregon Coast, we make sure to hit Alsea on Friday's for the Clam Chowder at Deb's! We had our parents' meet us in Alsea on their way to the coast this last weekend. Both moms' agreed that it was the BEST clam chowder they had ever had..and they get clam chowder whenever they can so I'd say they made a very informed decision! We each got different burgers and sandwiches and everyone was extremely happy with their choices. We had local beer from the Siuslaw Brewery, which was very good! The owner's son was extremely friendly and you could tell that he really cared about the restaurant. I recommend it to anyone going to that area! Don't forget to try her homemade dessert, top notch! read more

A nice rustic cafe that fits in well with the nearby the scenic Siuslaw National Forest. We had a Hawaiian sandwich (ham & pineapple), French Dip, Navy bean soup and tator tots. All were very good and the server was very personable. read more

We stopped by on the way to the coast and it was a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Great service and our breakfast was delicious--even the coffee! This is a great little country café. We took a day trip from Corvallis to Alsea Falls and Mary's Peak and hoped to find a lunch spot along the way. This seems to be the only option, and it's one we'll return to! Good sandwiches and burgers, friendly and quick service, and they even had a high chair and sippy cup for the baby. read more
