Free noodle refill
Kimberley N.

After seeing ads pop up on my IG feed, I suggested to my family to try out Dear Saigon for dinner today. We arrived around 6 pm and luckily there was a table left for the three of us. I'd recommend to reserve ahead of time based on this. We usually just order one dish when we go to Vietnamese restaurants but this time we decided to try a few additional things since it was our first time here. We ordered the Pandan cloud, mango smoothie, and chicken wings to start. Then we got pho for our main. Everything took a while to come out but luckily everything tasted good so it made up for it. The pho broth was flavourful, the drinks and chicken wings were delicious. The pho only comes in one size but they do provide one free noodle refill. I didn't require a refill but my husband did. After we finished our dinner, it did take a while to flag someone down to pay the bill. We were surprised that they bring the bill to the table versus the customer going to the front to pay like other Vietnamese restaurant. Overall, we all enjoyed dining at Dear Saigon. We will definitely be back! PS: Make sure you bring cash or a debit card. They charge 2.4% if you pay with credit.

Called ahead for my party of 9. They were so accommodating. My first visit after finding out they recently opened a location so close to me! Ive been to their downtown, North York and Scarborough location. Didnt know they now offer noodle refills!

Shrimp salad rolls

The space is nice. Lots of room. The staff are awesome. Very service oriented and accommodating. The food some things are hit and miss. The pho didn't have depth of flavour and I've had better at the other locations in Scarborough and Vaughan. The shrimp salad rolls were disappointing. Just full of vermicelli and lettuce. I was told the bun bo hue was delicious and the carpaccio was yummy. Spring rolls were okay and the bun khot was dense and kind of boring. I'll go back though to try other items on the menu. But for now...I think a 4 stars is fair.

We ordered the following: 2 X Beef Brisket Noodle 1 X Dan Dan Noodle 1 X Pork Rugamo The Beef Brisket Noodles were good as last time, as well as the Pork Rugamo (Chinese burger). The Dan Dan noodles were not as good as the other noodle dishes, and the pork pieces in the sauce seemed a bit hard. This is a family run small business and the service was good as the person taking our order was helpfully and friendly. The food was comparable to last time, so we will return.

Big portion and I liked it overall, the only thing is I asked for extra spicy and it was very very mild (my bf who can't handle spicy also agreed) Dan Dan noodle: 6/5 this was the highlight of our meal! While I'm not chinese, I love Chinese food and tried many different restaurants. I will tell you this is the best Dan Dan noodle I've tried! If I ever go back to Toronto, I'll definitely visit this place for the dish. Service The guy who served us was incredibly nice and he made sure we didn't order too much for just two people.

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. So please read this and try not to bring your pet inside to avoid looking entitled and rude.

You can choose the level of spiciness and numbing to your liking. Unlimited noodle refill is a definite yes! Flavour is great, portion is quite generous, service is as expected. Who doesn't love finding somewhat hidden gem of a place?…read more This location is unassumedly in a strip mall with a music store and pet care business and was such a delight to enjoy. The menu is pretty straight forward but so many options with Taiwanese and Chinese street food type options and fresh noodle and rice dishes. We tried the cuttlefish ball and sweet and sour cucumber salad eppetizers, the original noodle dish with sauce on the side, non vegetarian street noodle choice and the braised pork on rice dish that comes with optional seaweed soup on the side. Everything was tasty, but the seaweed soup was the least favourite for our table. Cuttlefish balls were crispy on the outside, juicy and bouncy on the inside with a sliight sweetness. The Cucumber salad used black vinegar as the base and were not too strong or punchy but provided a nice crisp relief with the other dishes. The egg noodles were just great. Firm and chewy and did I mentioned never ending?? If you need more noodles to gobble up whatever sauce or broth you order just ask! And a bowl will quickly appear at your table, included in your price. The flatter egg noodle was very light and the rounder egg pasta more chewy, both were delicious and held on to the sauces perfectly. The braised tea/soya egg were hard boiled and flavourful and this rice dish was very kid friendly too, a great way to introduce kiddos to the menu. Service was quick and friendly and well worth a detour to visit.

Toronto Review 4/Many: I went to this excellent Lanzhou spot with another person as one of my…read moreearlier meals. Our server, Sophia, was bubbly and friendly, giving suggestions and helping with the ordering process for the other person who wasn't as sure what they wanted. We eventually went with two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough food, and honestly, we could have only ordered one appetizer. The better of the two appetizers was the CAD 8.95 Hand Shredded Pepper Chicken/手撕椒麻雞/Shou Si Ji. The dish consists of cold chicken in a flavorful sauce, topped with some greens. The chicken was tender, with a mild, pleasant spice and a bit of numbingness from the Sichuan peppercorns, along with some fragrance, presumably from sesame oil. It reminded me a bit of salivating chicken you find in some Szechuan spots, but it was more aromatic and a bit less spicy. The other appetizer was the Steamed Edamame/岩鹽毛豆 with Himalayan pink salt for CAD 5.95. The other person chose between this and the vegetable dumplings, as he avoids pork, and it was, of course, lighter than the other appetizer. The decent portion of edamame was topped with some pickled carrots as a garnish. My main dish was the Braised Beef Noodles/紅燒牛肉面/Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. The dish included several options, including size, noodle style, and spice level. I chose the large for CAD $20.95, medium spice, and for the noodle style, I chose flat/宽面, as it was closest to the prism style I like at Lanzhou spots in the States. Along with these, I also added a tea egg for an extra CAD 2.95. Outside the add-on, the dish also had a couple of large slices of radish. Compared to some spots in NYC, I slightly preferred the QQ/bouncy texture of the noodles at a spot near me. However, the broth was better here with a balanced amount of mala, though I would likely order spicy next time, as I tend to add chili oil to the relatively lighter Lanzhou broths. The beef was also much better, being tender with a mild chew regardless of whether it was tendon or other cuts. The tea egg was flavorful and worth the add-on, especially when the inside was dipped further into the broth. I can see why others order this. The other person went with the Signature Stir-fried Noodles/招牌炒面/Chao Tatiaozi. There was an option of protein, and he went with Chicken for $17.95 and added the same egg. I tried a bit, and there was a pleasant pepperiness with a bit of numbing flavor, but less than my dish. The noodles had a good bounciness and overall had a slightly better chewiness than mine. This was lighter overall, but also tasty. This spot has apparently come to the US already at the Mall of America, and I would love it if there were a location closer to me. Good place.

The other noodle dishes I've tried from here have been consistently good as well. I recommend getting medium ones so sauce doesn't splash all over you like what happened to me! A great, affordable meal option.

The portions are generous, and the noodles are especially good. They're perfectly chewy and springy. The soup that comes with the lo mien is also so flavourful. Everything just hits the spot. There's really nothing missing in terms of flavour. It's a small, old school restaurant rather than a fancy or trendy spot, and it feels like one of those hidden gems that only people who know about it come to. I even got to see them wrapping the wontons by hand, so you can tell they're actually making them fresh in-house. If you're ever in the area, definitely give this place a try. Admittedly, about half the offerings we got were tasty, while the other half lacked flavoring. Dumplings are great but so large, eating them is a bit of a mess. Good for a simple and quick lunch, but if you're seeking more complex flavors, look elsewhere. Hours are not very open-- the resto closes at 7pm, so dinner is only for the early folks! While the restaurant was clean inside, plastic dividers for the round tables are a bit of an eyesore. Tea is served in plastic cups rather than traditional ceramic, which would add a layer of presentation. Prices are competitive and fair.

I went back to Hong Kong earlier this year (I haven't been in a long time), hoping to find rice noodles on the street. That proved to be a much difficult task. So I never got my rice noodle roll craving satisfied. Little did I expect to find such a delicious rice noodle roll in Mississauga. Its quite hidden, not in the most obvious and easy to find location, so unless you know, or you shop at the Yuen Ming supermarket, you likely will not find it. I ordered a minced beef + egg rice roll. It was about $8.50. You also get the choice to add in bean spouts, corn, and or green onions for free. The rice rolls are not actually rolls, but more scraped/bunched up rice sheets. Nevertheless, it was so soft and smooth. I can't wait to go back for lunch.
