2 Topping Noodle in Soup (wonton, beef)
    Gray R.

Fantastic wonton noodles that really hit the spot. I came for a quick lunch with a friend and was amazed how fast the food came out. As a long time fan of wonton noodles (and I missed out on eating them locally when travelling in Hong Kong), it's great to find a local casual spot to experience it at home. Portion size and quality stood out among all else. I opted for the 2 topping noodle soup w/ extra wonton egg noodles - it was huge and easily shareable between 2 people, legitimately a small mountain of noodles. Toppings are generous and full of flavour - the wonton were large, fresh, and super tasty. But of course, the heart of a wonton noodle is its broth and it doesn't disappoint in the least. Balance between toppings and broth / noodles were also solid. An excellent hearty meal that I can see myself coming back for. Location is great, in Mississauga, near many other Asian restaurants, and close enough to other points of interest. The shop was clean, menu is modern and easy to navigate, and overall just a great casual dining spot. I'll definitely be making this one of my regular spots

Sometimes you just want an uncomplicated Shrimp Wonton noodle soup. Wonton Express is excellent choice as they specialize in a delicious soup base with a choice of 5-6 proteins and/or 3 types of noodles. I had to fast the last 1.5 days for a medical procedure so had this in mind post appointment. Wonton Express is located a plaza with an Asian grocery store and many other small mom & pop restaurants. There are some gems here in Creditview Plaza. I ordered the 3 items wonton noodle soup with shrimp wonton, braised beef & homemade dace fish balls because why not. The broth is nicely seasoned and savoury but I must add white pepper and have a spoon of red vinegar ready to dip my proteins into cuz it's a thing. It's such a beautiful combo of flavours. I also ordered a plate of chinese greens with oyster sauce. Can't beat the price of $14 for 3 item wonton soup & $6 for Chinese greens!

My mom and I decided to visit this place in store for some authentic wonton noodle soup originating from Hong Kong. Amazing broth and noodles, even my mom who is picky was amazed at how good everything was. The chili oil introduced a new flavor to the food, so I definitely recommend trying it. The price of everything was 30$ and was very affordable in this economy.

My og wonton place! I've been coming for over a decade, even before the shop changed the name. Their wonton and brisket are the best. Juicy and plump. The noodles are always done perfect. Their service is fast. The shop is not big and gets quite busy sometimes. Love this place!

The wontons were not all whole shrimps. I didn't expect the pasty shrimp as fillers. Also, too much wrapping; as such, mildly disappointed. More importantly, the noodles were very mediocre. The noodles were not at the proper level of al dente. Yes, I know, I'm not in Hong Kong. I'm comparing to comparables in the GTA. Although I was disappointed, I am willing to give them another shot. Perhaps the excuse I'll offer them is that I arrived at 6:00pm and they may be ready to close for the evening.

These wontons are as huge as table tennis balls and almost cover the whole bowl. They have completely won my heart. I highly recommend trying their wontons, which are filled with plenty of shrimp and pork, making them incredibly delicious. Even when I use chopsticks, they keep falling because of their size. Their egg noodles are also very chewy and you can't taste any alkaline water. The beef brisket is tender and served in generous portions. I also love their beef brisket soup, which is super flavorful! They also have an open kitchen where you can see how they cook. This way, you can verify if their kitchen is clean or not. The whole environment is spacious with plenty of tables.

When we finished dinner at our friends Ambrose's and Agnes' place in Mississauga, the convo continued to center around food. It was upon their recommendation that we decided to check out Wonton Chai 2 days later with them. We were able to secure a table quickly, and the food came out in lightning speed as well. Ambrose and I both chose the wonton with brisket combo (with noodles), while the two Agnes settled on wonton only, my Agnes opting to skip noodles altogether, along with a dish of boiled yu choy. The wontons are pretty gigantic - I got 3 in my combo, along with the brisket and noodles. I'd rate them: Noodles: B+ suitably al dente and crunchy Wonton: B+ Almost too big and too much shrimp, but the smoked plaice gave it the proper wonton flavor Soup: C+ Just did not live up to expectations, with a non-descript "flavor" - Congee Queen's might be better on a good day; but at least it was not a sodium bomb. Yu choy: B - overcooked, as such things are wont to be at noodle houses They don't take credit cards - just debit and cash.

I had craving for shrimp wonton soup as I haven't had it in years. Decided on take-out at Wonton Express, and it was delicious! The wontons were a generous size and the broth was seasoned just right - felt just like comfort food. Added a side of green vegetables to balance out the meal. I would have this again and probably try it with egg noodle the next time. Prices are also reasonable.

Really fast service with friendly servers. Very clean interior with a view of the kitchen. The price is very reasonable with the souo being around 12 dollars (the most expensive soup noodle in the menue). The menue is clear and easy to ready. Would highly recommend. (i think it would also be a nice place for students)

Wonton soup noodle - MASSIVE WONTONS

This is the best meal you can get in Mississauga for less than $10 (without using a kitchen). Wonton Chai Noodle is a no frills noodle joint that is coincidentally only steps away from a No Frills. As the name implies, their speciality is Wonton Soup Noodle. Their menu is simple and lean, only 2 pages, and I doubt anything is on the menu by accident or would be a miss. I came with my boyfriend on a snowy Saturday to stave off my hunger before grocery shopping. We did not have to wait to get seated, though signs warned that if it gets busy, the restaurant would request that tables be shared. Luckily that did not happen (see: snow). The specialty - wonton noodles ($7) - was what I was here for. My boyfriend, being indecisive, got the three item noodle with beef brisket, wontons, and dumplings ($9). I think I got the better deal since I got 4 MASSIVE shrimp wontons, while he only got 2 wontons, 2 dumplings, and a tiny bit of brisket. WARNING: their chili sauce is spicier than average. My boyfriend learned the hard way and dumped a massive scoop into his soup, which turned out to be a bit too much. He didn't even get to taste the broth before the chili was added. The broth didn't need the chili (I was smart and tasted it first), but adding a bit of kick was fun. So did I mention that the wontons were massive? They're not like the frozen kind found in supermarkets. These contained actual, full sized shrimps, held together in a tight ball, with very little filler. One wonton filled up my whole soup spoon. It took me three bites to consume one wonton (mostly because they were so hot). In terms of texture, these wontons taught me why they have their Cantonese name - it felt like swallowing a cloud. (Won - cloud, ton - to swallow) My boyfriend's dish was fairly impressive as well. If you're looking for a restaurant that serves quality food quickly at low prices and you don't care for lack of service or ability to use credit/debit card, I highly recommend Wonton Chai Noodle. This is definitely going on my list of "can't go wrong with going here" places.

Unbeatable prices serving up classic Wonton Noodle Soup and Lo Mein. Price: Simply put, this is the most affordable place to get Wonton Noodle Soup. $7-$9 gets you a majority of the menu. Service: Service is extremely fast but transactional. The food came out in around 3 minutes after ordering it. Food: Food was very good but I have to take a star off just because my shrimp won't contained shell. It DOES say on the bottom of the menu that the shrimp's shell and Dace Fish Balls may contain bones. In my opinion, thats unacceptable to not not remove the shells / bones. I'd rather wait longer for quality control than for them to whip out orders as fast as possible. Atmosphere: Don't expect anything overly fancy for the restaurant. I do enjoy the logo being shown on the wall as a nice touch with menu items rather than to have a plain walls. The location is fairly small so there's limited seating.

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. So please read this and try not to bring your pet inside to avoid looking entitled and rude.

See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Will keep in mind to meetup at any of the non downtown locations in future.

I've lived in Toronto, Durham, Peel and I can definitely say its been the hardest to find goood late night greasy Chinese food here in the Port Credit end of Mississauga. I'm still on the hunt! Customer service here was great. I called asked a few questions, than went in and grabbed a menu and went back to my car. Called over the phone and ordered she didn't know it was me and asked if i knew where they were located which was nice. So My order was General tao chicken ( we usually get chilli chicken but don't like it dry, prefer the sauced up spicy, so this is the equivalent at some places), chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. The total was about 40$, which is fair and the portions were alot less to what I was used to. The general tao chicken was not even a little bit spicy, even though she said it was so that was disappointing. On top of that the breaded part of the chicken was extremely soggy and the plate was full of soggy over cooked veggies underneath. the chicken wings were fried and greasy tasted great and well seasoned. Just not like what I'd usually get from a Chinese take out place as it just looked different the way it was breaded and fried. The rice was in a really small container w under cooked pieced of chicken that was very slimy and white and the rice was very bland. I had to overkill w soy sauce and bit of red sauce. Lastly the chicken balls of course 80% balls 20% chicken but tasted fine, just nothing special. I mean it was cheap and last minute but i definitely feel like i would not have ordered here if i had known cheap or not. They have alot to improve on or mayb they are better at making other items listed in reviews from others. Not sure how they have 5 stars. but hey to each their own right!
