A Fell's staple! Cozy, sports bar/inn vibes with plenty of beers and bar food. Especially love…read morecoming here during holidays when they decorate the whole ceiling. Loved their crabby taters - the half size was already a generous portion. Awesome, friendly service! Seems like the staff really enjoy working here and interacting with customers.

We went to Ale Mary's after a big, touristy day in the Inner Harbor (I recently moved back to…read moreBaltimore, and am revisiting a lot of attractions, as a way of orienting myself, so I am still open to more broad kind of places.) We picked this place because it was advertised as a little touristy, and my partner likes tots! This place was great! After slogging around in 93 degree heat, we were ready to have a breather. We came in the early evening on a Sunday. The friendly bartender sat us, after a minute of us looking confusedly around. He and our table server were very jovial and familiar with each other, and made us feel very welcome! I like the decor of the place, because even though the structure is basically Dive Bar Baltimore, they also put in some idiosyncratic touches, like holy water containers near the doors, and cute salt and pepper shakers on every table. We started with the tots trinity, which was great, but we also both thought that next time, we would just get the crabby tots. In fact, I would just order the crab dip in whatever way I could get it! Excellent, unexpected, delicious! The regular tots and ranch cheesy ones were fine, but a little undercooked--if only they had been super hot and browned! My partner had the world's largest greek salad, which he said was very fresh and well balanced, and I had a chopped steak sandwich, which was a special on the menu, and delicious, although--and this is a big deal--the roll was not good. I loved all the flavors of the sandwich, but the bread fell apart before I even picked it up. Our service was great, and accommodating, and they really felt like they were looking out for us (I was walking with a cane, and they made a special effort to fit me in. I substituted Brussels sprouts instead of chips, and that was a champion decision. Soooo good. We had enough leftovers to have another supper the next night. Everyone whom we encountered at Ale Mary's was fun and kind and good at their jobs. Thank you!

Stopped in at Sláinte for breakfast while on a work trip and had a really solid experience…read more I ordered a mimosa and the crab cake Benedict, and everything was genuinely delicious. The crab cake was flavorful and well-made, the hollandaise was rich and on point, and the grits completely surprised me in the best way. They were incredibly flavorful with what tasted like a horseradish style sauce mixed in, which added a great kick. Easily some of the best grits I've had. I also tried the Scotch eggs that my friend ordered. I normally hate sausage, but these were shockingly good crispy, well-seasoned, and not overly heavy. The mimosa was exactly what it should be simple and refreshing. Champagne and orange juice never fails. Total bill came to $35.25, which is definitely on the pricier side, but this is Baltimore and pretty much in line with what I expected for quality brunch and drinks in this area. The vibe is classic Irish pub dark wood, Irish scarves and flags, and a really cool display of fire department patches on the walls. It felt authentic and cozy without trying too hard. Overall, great food, solid drinks, and a strong brunch option if you're in Fells Point. I'd absolutely come back.
