Charm City Trivia are the #1 most professional, entertaining, friendly, competitive, and respected trivia team in the area. While they're more focused toward the Baltimore area (duh) they do reach down into PG and Howard counties (see the map I included). I've been going to their location at Maple Lawn (Looney's) for about a month or so now and I can tell you that they're amazing. The questions range from the pretty easy ("What movie featured a car with the license plate, "OUTATIME"?) to the pretty difficult ("Name the three capitals of South Africa."). The questions show up on screens throughout the facility and the announcer is very easily heard without being obnoxious. [An added bonus is that the food at Looney's is pretty darn good!] The format is: 6 rounds of questions 3 questions per round 5 (I think) toss up questions (these are numerical questions where the closest to the answer wins) 1 final question (the only one where you can lose points) Each round has three different amounts you can assign to an answer (if you're positive of an answer you assign it the highest number). If you're wrong, you don't lose those points...except for the final question which you can wager up to 40 points. Big swings in team position can happen in the final question. I cannot encourage you strongly enough to try out a location that is hosting Charm City Trivia. Check their website and see the zillions of times and places that they're running a game. Trust me, you'll have a blast even if you come in last place like my team did last night.

Another participant walked up to him and asked "why isn't she allowed to do the drum roll, we were enjoying that"... his smug response was "I don't want to answer your question". Well, come to find out ... this is the OWNER of the company. Shame on him! What a horrible display of authority and leadership! I do not recommend this company and I hope the employee mentioned above finds a much more rewarding and happy place of employment.

Little pillows with plenty of salt, a winner. No entree, we shared Onion Rings, Boneless chicken wings (Bbq sauce and garlic Parmesan sauce) and two sausages, bratwurst and knockwurst. Along with my wife ordering Kolsch on tap, we were in heaven. It brought us back to a trip we took to Germany. All delicious. The crab cake, though small, was mostly lump crab meat with very little bread crumbs and served with a remoulade. Very moist and flavorful. The coleslaw was slightly bland, but I enjoyed it none the less. And the fingerling potatoes were cooked and salted to perfection. However they were lacking any real fat: no butter or oil. Now, it just so happened that my friend had purchased a bottle of Rosemary infused olive oil a mere half-hour ago. A drizzle of this turned these dry potatoes into something of a revelation, but I really shouldn't have had to doctor the meal I pay for with outside condiments to make it truly enjoyable. My friend enjoyed a hamburger with caramelized onions that was cooked precisely to her order and she enjoyed it a great deal. So, clearly, not all menu items needed as much help. The server taking care of us was very on top for job and kept our drinks filled and us happy. I really wanted to give this place a higher score, but there were too many little things off. I think with a few tweeks to some of the menu options this could be a really excellent restaurant. But currently, it's just "fine."
