There are few things scarier than being locked out of your apartment, especially after maintenance has left. My neighbors had come home from work having picked up their three little ones, and realized they had left the key inside the apartment. I am so happy that DC Locksmith Squad was the first company that came up online, The office staff was kind and efficient. The technician got in touch by phone and let us know he'd be here in about 30 minutes - and he was! He was friendly and efficient, and my neighbors were safely inside within minutes. Great experience start from the beginning when they answer the phone lady knowledgeable explain everything in one hour. Technician was in my house. Give me estimate to replace three locks. We had a several broken locks that were previously addressed by several other locksmiths. David showed up, fixed our existing issue as well as repaired precious locks that were not installed or working properly. He came 2 days in a row and stayed late until our locks were installed and properly functioning. Our complex is a safer place due to the care and attention to detail that David took to make sure that all locks were functioning properly. Even when his drilled battery died and he was ravaged by mosquitos, David pulled out his screwdriver and kept at it until the job was Done!!! Great service. We needed our locks changed due to unexpected circumstances and they were able to come within half an hour (and were ontime with that estimate). Benji was very professional: -He explained the steps for what he was doing and told us the cost -He asked every time before deviating from the process we had discussed -Each time there was an unexpected issue (i.e. the padlock hole needed to be expanded) he told us ahead of time and told us the cost. -He wore a mask and worked near the open door Thank you for your professionalism and excellent work! read more

Lost my bicycle lock key (like an idiot) and these guys were amazing. Took care of the lock (sawed it off) in less than five minutes, gave me 10% off for mentioning Yelp (plus, they were $10-30 cheaper than the other locksmiths I called). Our tenant got locked out of his bedroom, which has a key. It turns out they lock was jammed and needed to be replaced. David sent his tech to the house in 30 minutes on a Thursday night at 9 pm. The tech replaced the lock in no time! And David charged me a very reasonable price. I arranged it all from California, by phone and text in five minutes! The owner, David, called me within 2 mins of my requesting a quote on Yelp. He offered to come and provide a free estimate. He arrived within 15 minutes! My door knob was broken and I was locked inside my apartment. He unlocked my door for free, assessed both the broken door lock and my sticking Jimmy free lock, which he also found was broken. He installed 2 new locks within 20 minutes, provided me with multiple sets of keys for both locks and at a very reasonable, discounted rate! He even gave me a discount for mentioning Yelp! The dispatch ladies were nice but LIED continuously about timing. Kept quoting 20 minutes over and over and we waited over an hour and a half. When the locksmith called over an hour later he said he JUST got the job and was still 30 minutes away...so closer to 2 hours. Why not just tell the truth??? I also think i was overcharged for the actual service and i never got a receipt. Wont be using this service ever again. read more

I went outside for a quick second to water my plants only to realize I had locked the door behind me, leaving my keys/shoes/wallet/fresh bacon just inside. Needless to say I was in a terrible mood and was not very nice to the locksmith guys on the other end of the phone. Nevertheless, my man showed up fairly quickly with a smile and popped the door open in about 30 seconds. While I don't fully understand the economics behind charging $99 for a flick of the wrist, I really appreciated his friendly attitude and extremely handsome face. Thanks locksmith squad! read more

I highly recommend David! David came by on a moment's notice to change my locks. He was so friendly and knowledgeable and took extra time to make sure my locks were properly aligned and my safety was assured. He made sure that I was able to easily lock and open the doors before leaving. He took extra care to make sure that I chose two different keys for my lock and deadbolt so that it would be easy to distinguish.
