It's still a fairly new place, but we just tried it for the first time! It's a breakfast/ lunch only restaurant. The menu has a lot of good selections, however, I was surprised to see they don't offer omelettes. A very friendly place where we were greeted to seated immediately. Larry took care of us, did a great job. Pricing was in line with this type of place, but a little high for what I feel breakfast should cost. I got the All-Star skillet, at the cost of $17. It was two eggs, chopped bacon, sausage with onions and green peppers. However, it was about 50% small cube pieces of potato. I felt like there was way too much potatoes, and not enough of everything else, especially for $17! However, the presentation and flavor was good. My wife got the biscuits with gravy, which she said was excellent. Mine came with two large pancakes, which were also very good... served with hot syrup! There are windows on two sides, making it well lit. Everything looked brand new and clean! Definitely a small diner atmosphere. We liked it, however, we did not feel that it was anything which set it apart from many other places like this in Grapevine. As I was disappointment with my skillet dinner, that will likely not encourage me to come back. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try them!

Imagine an old building, maybe an old Waffle House, that's been a few different restaurants over the years -- that's what it looks like when you pull up to Daytrip Diner. Not the most exciting first impression. But don't stop reading yet, because what's inside is actually really charming. I wasn't impressed with the outside, but the inside was everything I hope a diner would be: hardwood floors (except for the outline of the restaurant where there are charming tiles), modern booths that look like old-school booths, and tables and chairs that look like teak wood, another nod to mid-century furniture. The waitress was considerate, and engaging the whole time we were there. I never accept straws, and she got it, "Help save the turtles," she said. And I acknowledge her by relying, "This is exactly why I don't accept straws." We both understood each other. I am not much of a breakfast person, and the first time I come to a new restaurant I order scrambled eggs. This is my test. Daytrip Diner passed the test! The eggs were cooked perfect, and tasty. So many time scrambled eggs are over cooked and dry, but not here. This was a great experience and I look forward to coming back soon.

Talk about knocking it out of the park!! This place is a hidden jewel. Home town, friendly from the moment you walk in the door. "The regulars" are called by their first names, very intentionally! Someone (the owner who is checking on customers as much as her staff) has trained their staff exceptionally well! Coffee is outstanding, food is incredibly fresh, served hot and ready, servers are as friendly as they come. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the decor is retro and just absolutely perfect. I absolutely LOVE this new find, I will be here often! This is a must try!

OMG this place is amazing! The ambiance is that of a laid back diner. Our server was Kristen and she was awesome! The food was so good and coffee is the best I've ever had anywhere! We had the potatoes instead of the hash browns and they were super delicious and the bacon was extra good! I can't wait to come back for lunch. FYI this place gets crowded so come early!

Nestled in Grapevine, Daytrip Diner is a nice option when trying to get away from the big hotel experiences nearby. The wait staff were very friendly and were honest with the recommendations. The food was fresh, hot, and really good. When in Grapevine, I definitely plan on going back!

I will give this place a 5 star for the friendliness alone. We were greeted at the door, taken to our seat and every single person from the staff to the customers felt like family. It reminds me of the diner in my home town where they know what you want before you sit down. Danny was our server and just lovely. She gave good suggestions and was very attentive. There was a good crowd in there and everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. My husband devoured his pancakes and was very happy. The buttermilk biscuits are huge. My only thoughts were a little more spice to the sausage gravy. We will return I saw so many things I want to try and the ambiance is adorable!!! It's worth a stop in.

Remember Cheers where everyone knew your name? Daytrip Diner is this place for us. The owners & staff make you feel so welcome. They TRULY CARE! The food & service is always excellent. I could eat there several times a week because there are so many items on the menu that I want to order! Daytrip Diner https://share.google/hAU7H3k9nD4WRqsBf

Daytrip Diner feels like the kind of place you visit once and then keep coming back to, almost by habit. The first thing you notice is the welcome you receive. The staff treats you like a regular, even if it is your first visit, and that sets the tone right away. The space has a light retro feel without trying too hard. It is clean, comfortable, and easy to settle into. You can take your time here. No one rushes you out the door. I have eaten here for both breakfast and lunch, and it has been solid every time. The eggs come out exactly as ordered, which sounds simple but is harder to find than it should be. The pancakes and French toast are rich, warm, and clearly made with care. At lunch, the patty stands out. It is cooked just right, paired with the right bread, and finished with the proper amount of onions. Nothing feels overdone. Daytrip Diner is not chasing trends. It focuses on doing comfort food the right way and creating a place that feels familiar. Good food, good people, and a space that feels easy to be in. It comes together as a whole, and that is what keeps it memorable.

First time here and very impressed!! Service is really amazing. They even open the door and great you outside. The food was very good, big portions, and came out pretty quick. The 50/60s vibe was cool too. They even have a old school counter people were sitting at with bar stools. We will be back often! The picture is Migas, potatoes, and pancakes.

I had not been this way in a while and noticed a new place had just popped up where an old place had shut down a couple of years ago. Always looking for adventure and my next Yelp review, I immediately diverted my plans and pulled in to enjoy a meal. Upon entering I was really impressed with what they have done with the place. They took an old very outdated place and breathed some mid-century light into it. They have created a really nice 50's diner kind of vibe. My service was fantastic. Sandra was very personable and did a great job, especially for someone who told me she was in her first week as a server. I ordered the Classic Scrambler, which was 3 Scrambled Eggs with a choice of Meat (I chose sausage) and Sharp Cheddar Cheese. It came with Breakfast Potatoes, and Pancakes. Everything was great! This was the best American style diner, with the most delicious food and AMAZING service. The ambiance was adorable, like an old time 50's diner, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. We ordered the club sandwich, wedge salad and Dubliner Benedict, and all were delicious and big portions. We highly recommend and can't wait to come back again!

I have nothing negative. The service and staff are nice and attentive. The restaurant ambiance is welcoming and clean. On to the food... there is no exaggeration when I say it was the fluffiest biscuits I've ever had! Our group had a good variety from the menu and nothing disappointed. The Alamo Fire Skillet with the homemade salsa was a hit. The homemade chicken strips and fries were out of this world only made better by the ranch! Both the pancakes and French Toast were delicious. Please go, it's just so nice to have food that is worth the money.

She led me back to the table with my friends and created some small talk on the way, so that was a nice change of pace, considering many people just point you on your way. We were seated near the back which seemed to be somewhat like an open kitchen feel, which I actually thought was pretty cool. Our waitress was very fast and helpful with picking out our foods based on our likes. Once the food came out, everyone seemed to really enjoy their meals, including myself. We started the table off with the biscuits and fried green tomatoes (demolished!). I kept it simple with the chicken and waffles (delicioius and crispy), which was a HUGE helping (yum!). Others at my table enjoyed the the shrimp and grits and WB chicken sandwich. No complaints heard from them! Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance, the food, the service, and the experience I had for my first time there. Would come back again for dinner to see if there is a difference.

Most of the starers are mouthwatering, even the unexpected Ruben Eggrolls are a delight. Less daring items like the coconut shrimp are equally good. Without a doubt my go to entree is the Beef Wellington. I remember La Madeleine had an affordable one on their menu in the late nineties, this is reminiscent. I do usually swap out the mashed potatoes for the chopped wedge as side, just seems like the classical steakhouse side for the task. The only thing I would say that is lacking is the wine list, despite being very fairly priced. Their most bespoke bottle of red is the Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), which while amazing for the $99.99 they charged, it was fairly flat, lacking the traditional vanilla perfume you'd expect from a pricey California Cabernet Sauvignon. Also took a bottle of GH Mumm Grand Cordon, which also did not taste as anticipated. I think the most plausible explanation might be heat damage, as both wines are usually well regarded but came up short.
