CraftWay is unique as it remains unpretentious while still serving elevated cuisine with service to match. Most of the starers are mouthwatering, even the unexpected Ruben Eggrolls are a delight. Less daring items like the coconut shrimp are equally good. Without a doubt my go to entree is the Beef Wellington. I remember La Madeleine had an affordable one on their menu in the late nineties, this is reminiscent. I do usually swap out the mashed potatoes for the chopped wedge as side, just seems like the classical steakhouse side for the task. The only thing I would say that is lacking is the wine list, despite being very fairly priced. Their most bespoke bottle of red is the Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), which while amazing for the $99.99 they charged, it was fairly flat, lacking the traditional vanilla perfume you'd expect from a pricey California Cabernet Sauvignon. Also took a bottle of GH Mumm Grand Cordon, which also did not taste as anticipated. I think the most plausible explanation might be heat damage, as both wines are usually well regarded but came up short. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite and this place didn't disappoint. Ordered the shrimp and grits entree along with their take on a pot pie. Both were excellent, although you shouldn't expect the pot pie to be a major filler; though the unique flaky top was a different twist from the usual expectations that come with a pot pie. The thing I enjoyed most about this place is how friendly all the staff were and on top of that they even gave me a coupon for $20 off the next visit. We came here around 2 pm on a weeked, and it was fairly empty. Our waitress was sweet and recommended the frozen "drink of the day", a piña colada. I took her up on it for a mere $7, and it was delicious, complete with a toasted coconut rim. It also made me pretty sleepy for the rest of the day, so it must have had more booze than I tasted. My husband was hungry and ordered the shrimp pasta. I went with the Reuben egg roll app, which could have used more corned beef. The strange part was the wait. We waited and waited for a very simple order, while two four tops who came in after us received their food about 15 minutes before we did. Eventually we asked our waitress about it, and she brought the food out right away. I was worried it had been sitting under the salamander in the kitchen, but it was piping hot. Everything was fine overall, but there is no real need for a repeat visit. Everything was so nice! We had great service with solid menu recommendations for modifications to our order. The food was also great. The coconut shrimp was fried perfectly & the breading was delicious. The crab mushroom was packed with flavor. The fried asparagus had a great lemon aoili, but the asparagus itself was a little tough (think it one just the one we got). We split the chicken parmesan dip & chicken and fig. We asked for both to be on ciabatta bread. Both were great - our favorite was the chicken and fig (even though the chicken parmesan was also perfectly fried and had a great pesto mayo). Love this new spot in Southlake. Staff is amazing! Everyone is on point. Not sure how they found all the best but they seem to have Large patio in the front and on the side of the bar. They have a unique concept with frozen cocktails, and I have to say the frozen old fashion is delicious and packs a punch. They have a daily happy hour until 6 PM and it does include some frozen cocktails, but not the old-fashioned. We tried several things and everything was delicious made from scratch made to order . The Southlake location of Craftway Kitchen has been open for ~1 month and I'm so happy this one is so much closer to home! The service and food quality is similar to the Plano one - which is to say, consistently good. The new space is right off of Southlake Blvd and is very spacious, w a nice open bar area and a covered patio. Of the drinks, my wife loved the frozen Paloma and the Old Fashioned - made w Angels Envy bourbon () - is top notch IMO. The Brussels sprouts side dish is fantastic! Having just arrived from out of town for an event, I looked for a nice farm-to-table type original destination and I was pleased to find Craft Way. Not only that, the weather was so nice & traffic not too noisy that sitting outside was the better choice, an ambience of perfection for a perfect meal. Too bad I was solo, I would bring everyone here next time. CW's menu had plentiful delicious options, even for a currently gluten-free diner such as myself. Sara was such a hospitable & professional waitress that made me want to return. Spacing and seating were comfortable & just right. Too bad I live 2 hours away or I would frequent CW more often. The only con is I thought my salmon entree would've been the thicker variety instead of thin like trout. However Sara explained that if notified of that preference the chef would've obliged my request. Upon entering the Craft Way Kitchen you immediately appreciate the ambiance. Simply, yet tastefully designed with barn wood tables on wooden floors, the feel almost becomes elegant. Add to that the classic album rock playing, I was right at home! My service was really good. I greeted and seated immediately and then Cassidy introduced herself as my server. She did a pretty decent job handling several tables she had, but sometimes there were long waits before she returned, especially when it was time for the check I ordered the Prime Rib French Dip. It was tender and flavorful. My only wish was that it would have been just a little less fatty. It was alarming running into gristle as I chewed it. So I was looking for a place to eat after work and I had to get out of the traffic. And there was craft way. I looked up on the Internet, and I saw that coconut shrimp and the beef Wellington. The coconut shrimp was wonderful except for someone who was supposed to be cleaning them and clean them very well and I just cleaned it myself and then ate it anyway. But when I'm mentioning it to the leader, they went ahead and took it off my bill, even though I pretty much ate the whole thing. I thought that was very classy of them too stand up for their own work. Cause I had no way to ask them to take it off I was going to pay for it anyway because I enjoyed it except for the little self work. The way that the food came out in the presentation was so beautiful. I'm pretty sure that was an accident. Also the beef Wellington was so delicious. It was a perfect medium rare. I didn't ask for my own well done as I like to see what the chef is gonna present and it was delicious as is. The crust was very light flaky. You can tell he makes his own. The mushroom around under the pastry was delicious. I really wish it had a little more mustard but other than that I think it would be great... It said something about cheese and the description, but I didn't notice any cheese. The staff was wonderful, very helpful and constantly checked back to see what was going on. The chef came out and talked to the people in the booth, but completely ignored all the people in the tables... Very interesting but that's OK. I was eating. I was busy. To start with, the water was the worst tasting water I've had in a long time. All tap water I've had tasted better. Super weird taste. My kids even mentioned it. We ate from the brunch menu...the French Toast was raw dough in the middle. I had chicken and waffles and the waffle was a waffle and OK, but the chicken not only looked unappetizing but also tasted it (also not prepared properly as breading was loose and falling off). My wife barely touched the biscuit with hers and the eggs had absolutely no seasoning whatsoever, not even a small amount of salt. Two days ago I went in for the first time after a recommendation from a friend. While she praised Craft's fish and chips, I ordered the Rueben sandwich with mac and cheese. I found the rye bread very good, but because of its thickness, over powered the sandwich. It could have used more pastrami for a balanced bite. I'm not sure how the sandwich was grilled, but whatever fat they used smelled just short of rancid and was not pleasant nor added to the appeal of the sandwich. The side of mac and cheese was meh; at least the sauce was smooth and creamy, but hardly any flavor. While this was not a brilliant experience and because of my friends praise of their fish and chips, I'll be back to give that a try. read more

Went there for our anniversary since my husband loves beef Wellington. Which they did do a food job on. My French onion soup needed more onions and cheese but had a nice fluff pastry on top instead of bread inside. The redfish and Brussel sprouts had a very pretty presentation but the Brussel sprouts outshined the fish. We chose a new place to celebrate our anniversary noted in our reservation which neither hostess nor waitress acknowledged. It was a more casual atmosphere than anticipated with very slippery floors. The frozen flight had a very nice presentation but the frozen dirty martini was so dirty that was only drinkable after all the ice melts. All in all it was ok but not somewhere I would go for a special occasion again. read more
