Davis Roofing did an outstanding job on our two roofs. They removed the existing layers of roofing, down to the hand-forged nails, replaced loads of bad wood from the original 1947 roofs, solved the problem where one roof was leaking due to bad flashing, and did it all in three days. Mike was the one person who diagnosed the problems causing the leak while he was estimating the job, which was very impressive. Vanessa worked closely with the solar removal people and helped me get over some scheduling hiccups when the solar company was making things challenging. The removal crew was amazing. They took excellent care of our property and many plants. The place was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. The roofers themselves were a pleasure to work with and very efficient. They explained everything and answered all of my many questions. Nacho went out of his way to not only explain to me, but also show me how he solved the problems in the area that was previously leaking. I gathered several bids before choosing a roofing company. They were close in price, but Mike and Vanessa answered all my questions and seemed to include everything in the price and explain where any overages might come from. In the end, everything was covered by the estimate except the bad boards, which we understood could not be known until the previous roofing material was removed. The board prices were fair and competitive and I feel confident that we won't have any problems down the road. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the honest and upfront information that was provided to me by this amazing company. I was referred to this company by a coworker who also had an amazing experience. When Mike came to do my estimate, it had previously rained abd he was unable to go on my roof. But you know you have an extremely experienced professional who can IMMEDIATELY tell where leaks are from just from the interiors and looking at the home from the outside. His eagle eye was able to access from the ground!!!! AMAZING!!! He was spot on but because he did not exam my roof, at repair time, he had his team walk my roof to ensure they found all cracked tiles to ensure I wouldn't have any further issues in the future. My HOA did mess up completely and sent them the WRONG outdated tile information. I was livid as it caused them to have to eat that already ordered tile. I absolutely hate HOAs even more now. Mike and Vanessa were so professional about the situation. It was just unbelievable. They found tiles that matched and ensured my roof was repaired. Great experience. From the start talking to Vanessa to the end when Mike fixed my leak. First big rain of the season during Thanksgiving week and all the roofers I contacted were busy. Vanessa called me daily with updates as to getting someone to look at my problem. I never felt like they forgot On Saturday morning Mike came out and found my problem on a very hard to access roof. He also found a problem I didn't know I had yet. Fixed both for a very reasonable price. Update: I highly recommend Davis after another great experience. Called about a leak and an hour later Billy was here. Had to replace flashing. This area didn't leak before so I assume the earthquake last week probably shook it loose. Wow. I cannot sing enough praises about this company. Davis Family Roofing were prompt, professional, courteous, clean, quick, efficient, and performed the highest quality work. They completely stripped off my old roof in less than one day, quickly and cleanly. Billy and Jose were amazing workers. They then installed all new asphalt shingle which not only looks great but keeps my house cooler, lowering my energy bills. They removed the shoddy workmanship of the last roofers from around my chimney and sealed everything tight. All the new shingles, venting, and Solatube match the new tile perfectly. And Vanessa working the front office is always available for phone calls and questions. When I had questions about upgrades that I had heard about from other roofers that I thought might improve my roof, Mike was direct and honest with me and didn't try to up-sell me as some of the other contractors did. They did a fantastic job considering their busy schedule from all the rain that year. Second, with the most recent 2023 rain deluge, there was a leak in my stove pipe, not the roof. So I called for help and they came out in two hours of the call and sealed the pipe joint. I have referred Davis to others and they raved about their work and reasonable pricing. I needed a re-roof job done on an a 12 year-old addition to my Lakeside house. The addition had leaked every year since it was built. I got tired of having the contractor back to fix it and decided I needed a new roof. The first company I called wanted to toss my tile roof and install old tar shingles. A friend suggested Davis Roofing because they had fixed a leak that popped up during a kitchen remodel. Mike came out an I liked his style and demeanor right away. I told him how many times I'd had the roof "fixed" by the contractor. He told me 'a general contractors know a little bit about a lot of things, but a roof is not something you can get away with knowing only a little about.' Not sure if that's an exact quote but close enough. He told also me that I could keep my tile roof, which I really liked. He suggested I cover my pool to keep debris out. My pool is 5 feet from the house and he didn't want anything falling in. The only thing that got in the pool was some saw dust, but I could see where a nail or a piece of broken tile could have been a concern. Fast forward to the work, it was done in 2 of the hottest days of this summer. The guys worked hard and fast, but did not cut one corner. Mike and his crew know what they are doing, they know a lot about roofing and are true professionals. I would suggest Davis Roofing to anyone who needs a new roof, or a roof repair. This is much more than just a review for me and my family. Our family had a recent house fire. We lost almost everything and were displaced from our home. We have been through a lot to say the least. Soon after the fire Mike the owner of Davis Roofing reached out to us and offered his help with our roof during our hardship. At the time with everything going on and trying to figure out our new "normal" I didn't realize how much Mike and his crew would help us. Fast forward to our house being rebuilt. A few weeks back our framers were done!!! Yeah... Right? Well it left our new bare roof exposed and old roof too. Well it was the worst timing for us. It was going to rain off and on for the next week and a half. Yes you can put plastic and tarps to cover the roof, but that's no guarantee. Another stress for me and my family. We didn't need another setback. As I'm stressed out and concerned Mike and his crew sprung into action. His team were like roof NINJAS. Anytime there was a break in the rain they were there doing anything and everything to protect and seal our roof from the rain. What they may not have realized is that with every nail, paper and shingle they were reliving our stress. I think most roofers would had thrown some tarps down and hoped for the best. Not Mike and crew!!!! With them working off on around the rain they also had to move and upgrade new vents. After all, this was a fire and things were missing that usual are on a reroof. They had their work cut out for them. Now let me fast forward again. The roof was done. During all the rain and vent placements,new penetrations, repairs etc...the quality of work was never compromised. I have never seen such an Awesome roof. Davis roofs is a family owned business. I had a leak after all the weather we had in both my patio and garage. Mike came out and his crew patched them and gave me a quote for the whole thing. It was getting old but he said there was lots of storm damage. He recommended calling the insurance and see if they could help. He also pointed out that the solar panels had to be removed first. He had worked with Tesla before and new what was involved. Vanessa the office manager/ Mikes wife and Mike worked with us on our schedule and walking us through all we needed to do with insurance and Tesla. He even covered up the items in the garage. Robert knows his business and is fast and efficient. When termite damage was found he was able to handle repairs to the wood as efficiently as he was with the shingling and at a very reasonable rate. They are a busy business so they probably won't be able to come out and replace your entire roof next day but they will be out promptly for an inspection/estimate/repair. Great people, great communication, and every interaction was positive. Called them a few times and somehow they knew who I was every time. Very fair prices and when comparing equal quotes they were even a little more affordable. Davis Roofing completed the job quickly after it was started and they treated the job like it was on their own home. They went above and beyond with their work, reinforcing any of the potential weak portions of the original roof design, and tucking the flat roof portion well under the adjoining peak. Even replacing the lower shingle to ensure the roofs longevity / weather resistance. They even clean every speck of their work up and if I didnt have a new roof, I wouldnt have even know they were there. I wish I would have found this company 2 years ago. Davis roofing just finished repairing a leak in my roof yesterday and installing some vents. As you can tell by all the other reviews, this company is very honest. I was told by 3 separate estimates that I need to spend between 15,000 and 19,000 to replace the entire roof. When Davis roofing arrived, they told me that my roof had a few more years in it and that I only need to speed 2500 for the repairs. They also recommended 1 vent be replaced and 2 added which I agreed to. All in all, everything was done for much less than 4000 and the crew was finished in a couple of hours.
