Remodeling can be a pain in the A-S-S. We searched high and low, numerous tile/flooring places around San Diego to find the perfect tiles for our bathroom. We thought we found a place, but ended up NOT getting a response back to provide payment (their loss). After more searching, I came across San Diego Marble & Tile. Lucky to find out it was down the street from our home. Parking was not an issue. We walk in and are immediately greeted by Marisa. Janice, at the El Cajon location is very pleasant and helpful. So is Javier. They have a good supply and know what they're talking about. They can tell you which tiles are compatible to use together, which need sealer, maintenance etc. Home Depot will sell you tile but these people know about tile. Prices are competetive. read more

I love this place! I am remodeling my kitchen and bathrooms. I bought u-g-l-y tile from Home Depot. My friend, Ann, said, let's go shopping. She took me to San Diego Marble and Tile. I fell in love with beautiful tile for my new shower. It looks beautiful with my new chosen countertop. I love my new tile. The people here are nice, amazing and very knowledgeable! My HD tile cost $.88/each, and they looked it. The replacement tile is beautiful and it looks so much better with my Silestone, Pietra countertop. The people that work there are very nice. They are polite, courteous and very knowledgeable. I now want to redo the front of my fireplace with their tile. Thank you, sooo much, for making me feel like I matter. I was looking for tile, but I was not able to find what I was looking for. I had found a tile i liked at another store, but it did not have the bullnose that I needed. A lady named Janice that works at the store told us that we could use something called Schuler for the edges. I bought the tile today and went back to her store for the edges I needed. She didn't have exactly what I needed and she began to call all the other stores that she could think of. It must have taken her over half and hour. We recently did a remodel of our kitchen and we stopped by this showroom one day on a whim and went in and were able to find exactly what we were looking for. They had a lot to look at but were helped out by one of the designers who was able to point us to the right tiles to look at once we described what we were looking for. It probably saved me about two hours of wondering aimlessly around the showroom. They were not pushy at all just really helpful in finding what I needed. Going here can be pretty overwhelming just because there is so much to look at and if you are someone like me I only need like 10 things to pick from but they were great about simplifying it for us and helping us to narrow down what to look at so that it was not so overwhelming. read more

My husband and I went into SDMT, and were disgusted by the customer service provided with the employees working on shift (2 elderly women). From the moment we walked in and the short time were there-- we were treated poorly. My husband and I walked into SDMT to make a large purchase for a project that we have going on for our new home. I researched several different companies in East County and I found this SDMT, from the reviews on this page they sounded professional. But when we went inside we got treated completely different. When we walked in we were not greeted at ALL or even offered any help (even though one of the older ladies made eye contact with us). We then walked upstairs to the "natural stone selection," and our experience only got worse up there. We approached an older women (who once again... didn't offer any help), so we decided to approach her and ask for help. She then noticed we were walking towards her, and she said in a firm/condescending voice "What do you need?" My husband replied, "I need help with.... (she cut him off before he was finished speaking), and she replied rudely "with???" My husband replied back "with some granite for... (once again cuts him off), and she replied "we don't do that here!" We were both in shock and were so disappointed with our experience, because we are just two new home owners-- looking for granite. I have never felt so talked down to or out of place at business before, and I would NEVER recommend this place anyone!!! Please choose wisely, and proceed with caution with SDMT, and consider going with another company that will appreciates your business. Because SDMT most definitely didn't appreciate these potential customers. read more

He even asked me to take two sample boards home with me to check out how it looked in my kitchen, before I made my order. He looked at my kitchen photos and offered very helpful advice. I went with his suggestions on my backsplash and it looks awesome. They have a great selection of floor and wall tile, and they had exactly what I was looking for. Javier greeted us the moment we came in and directed us to the proper location in the store to find what we were looking for. We recently searched for a wood-like ceramic tile and after exhausting the online and 'Big Box' offerings, we took a look at a place advertised in San Diego Home & Garden magazine and we were SO glad we did! This place had it all, and then some ... the hardest part was choosing from all of the selections, but with the help of the expert staff, we found just what we were looking for and couldn't be happier. We were given samples to take home and when we chose the tile we wanted, our order was placed right away and arrived a week early. Our old gray squares have been replaced with gorgeous distressed oak planks and everyone thinks it's real wood!
