Yes they have a great selection of flooring and their employees are very friendly, but there were too many errors to recommend this company. First, I was recommended by the flooring contractor, who said they would get me the contractor price, which I was told when I purchased from Rayo. As it turns out, the "contractor price" was just their normal price, which I verified by calling and asking for the price. Secondly, they screwed up my underlayment order, giving me a lower-quality underlayment that I thankfully caught before the contractor installed it. This may have had the consequence of needing the flooring to be ripped out and underlayment replaced due to HOA rules of minimum sound abatement quality. And third, they couldn't find a flooring piece and told my contractor it was located at a different store, sending them from this location to Clairmont during rush hour. The piece was actually at this location, but they didn't even try looking for it. This delayed my project two days. Overall, they are untruthful and seem to be careless and unprofessional. read more

I would like to start out by saying, yes, they have flooring at a reasonable price. That's about the end of the positive things I have to say. All businesses are customer service businesses. - The company received payment information -- collected with pen and paper in person -- and ran the payment card. No email confirmation, no call confirmation, no receipt of any sort. - The flooring we ordered was in stock for a week before we were notified that the flooring was in stock. - When we checked on whether our flooring was in stock, we were notified that it was and that it was waiting at their Kearny Mesa facility. - When our contractors arrived to pick up the flooring from Kearny Mesa, they were told that, no, the flooring was still at the Lakeside warehouse. This feels like information that anyone should have at their fingertips. - After picking up the flooring from the Lakeside warehouse -- now two weeks later and in a different location -- we were notified on the day of installation that the flooring NEEDS TO REST AND ACCLIMATE TO THE ROOM FOR 72 HOURS prior to installing. We are aware that, perhaps, our contractor should have known about the requirements of this brand and type of flooring. I'll allow this one point. Our project moved back a full week, and then moved back again, another full week. I understand: maybe it isn't that big of a deal to sell flooring. Maybe it isn't brain surgery. Well, I'm having surgery next week. And now our floors will be put in around those constraints. So maybe, just maybe, customer service -- even without a smile, even just doing the bare minimum of a job, like letting people know that the product they purchased is in stock and, I don't know, maybe the location of where that product could be picked up from -- is still very important. It might not be surgery to you, but it could be surgery for someone else. Would never recommend. Systems are in shambles. Operational disaster. Communication gap after communication gap after misinformation. Do something. read more

We were having a good experience with Rayo Flooring until this week. During the middle of our stair project, we changed flooring and contractors. No problem...Escondido Rayo and Donald worked with us to secure the new material. The project was completed this week on Monday after some delays and the holiday weekend. On Monday, I returned one unopened box of vinyl plank and was informed that my refund would be processed. I fully understood that I would be subject to a 20% restocking fee. I never received a call, so I phoned on Friday, only to learn that my return was denied. I'm now headed back to Rayo to pick up a box of perfectly good vinyl plank. They were able to provide multiple samples for us to take home and look at to figure out which flooring would work best for the ADU. We ordered our base boards and flooring from Rayo. Thanks to George for all the help. The base boards were a good price! Just some preface about flooring; we went with Lighthouse luxury vinyl planks, based on a family member having it put into their home and loving it. We loved the flooring and were able to find a color we liked. I absolutely loved the Coretec brand for the golden oak color, but Coretec was just out of our price range no matter what or where we went. We did browse around to find the best deal on the lighthouse flooring we liked and was able to find a place to get it for less than what Rayo was offering. We ended up emailing George telling him our findings and he was able to get it cheaper than the other store!! It literally saved us close to $500 because of him being able to get the price lower for us. Because of his work, we were able to get all our flooring and transition pieces for a great price that worked with us. Incredibly disappointed. before moving into our home we searched far and wide for flooring, and felt like RAYO was our best bet. I COULDNT REGRET IT MORE. We selected a flooring that we were assured was excellent, and had a long term warranty. We used one of their recommended contractors to have it installed. This is not something we would normally have done, as my husband and I have helped flip a few houses and he knows how to do it himself, but I didn't want him to have to deal with that this time. The contractors were excellent, they did a great job, and we were very pleased with them. Less than a year later all the flooring in my entire home was coming apart. It's the worst in the living room where you can see the floor underneath of what was newly installed. It just continued to get worse and we contacted Rayo & our contractor in December. The contractor came out immediately, ready to fix what was needed, but instead could find no installation issues. So I called and emailed RAYO. Their communication was so horrible, we did not have an inspector able to make it out to our home until months later. I was told that the claim was left I. Someone's desk and overlooked. Then they never let us know what the result of the inspection was until I emailed four times asking. I finally received an email back today several months after their inspection. We were told that the cause of the floors failing in our entire 2500 square-foot home is a small vanity that weighs less than my kitchen table being placed on top of the flooring in a tiny bathroom. This bathroom has no issues with the flooring and is the only room in our home and unaffected. The inspector also said we had other cabinets installed on top - but we have NO other cabinets that were installed after the flooring! . Unfortunately, we had some friends with the same flooring installed from RAYO around the same time as us, and they ran into the EXACT same issues. They were told that it was because they didn't do the special floor leveling beforehand. We did that so I believe RAYO was trying to pass the issue off on something else this time. Multiple people we know have had these issues with Rago and every time they send out their own inspector he finds a way to make it someone else's fault. . The incredibly poor communication of this business, along with their failure to stand behind their product, as well as their attempt to dodge responsibility with manipulated "inspections" has lead me to leave this review. We just purchased new flooring for our house from Rayo. We had two different flooring contractors recommend them. They were incredibly helpful from start to finish. We worked with Ron in sales, who was able to tells us about the product that we wanted, and how it compared with other options. No one else I talked to could beat their price. The pick-up process was great too. All of their staff were friendly and helpful! The guy who brought our flooring out to our (rental) truck even tied it down for me since it was too long to close the gate. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for flooring. The only thing they could improve would be to offer delivery =) I noticed that a few people commented on not getting service. I'm guessing that they walked into the warehouse side instead of the showroom. Both times I walked into the showroom I was greeted immediately and everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. The warehouse (with a pick up desk and where they sell installation supplies) is less interactive, but the staff there is no less friendly or helpful. read more

Purchased wood flooring product from this company. Within a year the floor had excessive scuffing which could not be removed. Flooring has a 35 year warranty. Attempted to resolve this through Better Business Bureau, but Rayo did not respond. Have spoken to other flooring installers who say they WILL NOT buy products from Rayo. I was very impressed how David Roux of Rayo Wholesale (Santee) and his manager handled a difficult customer service case. We bought a case of Sika Primer MB (very expensive stuff), but within a few minute after we mixed it the whole bucket started heating and fuming than quickly solidified. We had time to only use between one and two cups of the primer. I called Rayo, talked to David and he found on the manufacturer's site that it's what happens at high ambient temperature. The problem - it was no mention of it in instructions that came with the product. Rayo contacted the manufacturer and in a week we got our money back. The have laminate that is so real looking i thought it was wood! Their prices seem pretty on par with other stores but the selection is so vast you can get lost in here for a while looking at all the flooring available. read more
