When we decided to replace the roof on our home and barn, we chose to use AVL Roofing after their company was recommended to us by a family member. Just to be sure, we checked their reviews and found them to be almost all five stars which helped make our final decision easier. Our first contact was with Carolyn, their office manager. She could not have been nicer and there was no pressure at all during our contact with her. Later that same day, we received a call from Vince, the owner of the company, and by the next day we had the estimated cost and contract to sign. Vince provided a start date which they kept. His workers arrived earlier than their start time everyday until the job was completed. At the end of each work day, the crew made sure there was no debris left behind by using a magnet to pick up nails, a lawn blower, and broom to clean their work area. They also removed and replaced our solar panels. Vince stopped by most days to check their progress and to make sure we were happy with the work being done. The roofs are now finished, they look great, and there were no surprises on the final billing. We are beyond satisfied with AVL Roofing and would recommend them to anyone needing their services! So, the place is not closed. But, it is very unprofessional. There is no response until a month later since my past post and without any explanation. Again, they keep rescheduling so annoying. They rescheduled the job 4 times. I give two stars since the employees and 3rd party vendors are very attentive and professional. The work is long, I understand, but they confirmed with me twice that the job will be finished 4 - 5 days, but the job was not done until day 8. They didn't show up and missed 3 working days without an explanation. Extremely bad communication. I don't know if I will recommend this place. It used to be so good, but it went down hills the last time they did half of the roof for my house. Yes, the job was for half of the house, so 60% of the roof! read more

e had Sullivan install our solar system in the summer of 2019. Last week we noticed a water stain on the ceiling of our bathroom. When we installed the solar, we also had roof work done by AVL Roofing. So we contacted Sullivan and AVL Roofing to ask them to look at it to see if the leak was related to the roof repair and/or solar. In less than a week, Sullivan and AVL came to our home and inspected the problem and decided upon a repair. They will remove the solar panel and repair the roof and reinstall the solar panel the same day. We are so pleased with the follow up and the prompt response to our concern. If you are having solar installed, be sure you deal with a company which will stand behind the warranty. We have already recommended Sullivan Solar and AVL Roofing to friends, and will do so again. read more

A few weeks ago we were notified by our insurance company that our insurance was going to be canceled because they flew over our roof and determined that it needed to be replaced. We called many roofing companies and told them our deadline date of March 16, and were quickly shut down stating that they could not begin by that date,let alone complete the project. Vince from AVL quickly responded with a very good appraisal and bid. Unfortunately, our dates didn't match. We explained our situation with the insurance company and a couple of days later we were called to notify us that they could begin on March 7. They showed up on time and got right to work. Long story shorter, they were extremely polite, hard working, efficient and cleaned up perfectly. There's a concept in projects called the Iron Triangle - fast, good, cheap. You can pick 2 but you cannot have all 3. AVL Roofing breaks the Iron Triangle. Fast: Vince and his staff were always responsive and fast. I got a site evaluation fast. I got a quote fast. The work was completed fast - 1 day strip the old roof and prep. 4 days to do repairs and complete the new roof install. Good: Vince uses quality products, the same as the other roofers who I received quotes from. Also, his team of Kurt and Terry made sure I was happy with the work. You could really tell they took pride in their work; they even worked on a Saturday to get the job done ASAP (see Fast above). Cheap: Everyone wants the lowest price, but the old adage is "you get what you pay for". So how can you have the best quality and the fastest service at the lowest price (see Iron Triangle above)? Well, this is where AVL Roofing breaks the norm. I received multiple quotes and got pretty much the same "sales pitch" from all roofing companies, but AVL delivered on the best price! AVL Roofing just finished rebuilding my old light grade cement tile roof, re-using most tiles but replacing the rest: double paper layers, vent sheet metal, metal peak caps and valleys etc., creating "window" shingle areas by request under solar panel areas. 100% accurate quote, completed exactly on schedule, crew courteous and extremely hard-working, cleaned up every evening. We hired AVL to redo our roof in March. We originally got the quote in Dec/Jan timeframe and the March start time lined up well with solar installation (expected mid March but pushed to May due to COVID19). I highly recommend AVL. Everything was easy and straightforward and was the best quote for best materials by far. As mentioned, Vince works with solar companies. Of 3 solar bids we got, 2 had existing relationships with Vince, which helped narrow our decision. We had a small issue with the placement of a new vent pipe that was discovered months later when we started a kitchen renovation. I called Vince and he worked it out for a guy to show up that week in between other jobs to install a new pipe in the correct location, no questions asked. Last September, AVL Roofing removed the old paper and reinstalled new paper and the tiles while replacing some that were broken. The roofers were professional and courteous. The roof was tested during the recent heavy rains. It passed with flying colors!! Yesterday, I emailed Vincent Leone about a downspout that disengaged during the heavy rains in either March or April. Vince's email response was "He will come by today". This straightforward and simple response is what I expect from an honest and outstanding contractor. Indeed Vince's worker came today at 09:00 and put the down spout where it belongs. Moreover, he angled it so that the flowing water is ejected away from a junction between the roof and a wall; thereby, actually making it better. The worker also cleaned skylights. We wanted to install solar on our house but our existing metal roof was not compatible with the solar installation. I used Vince and his crew to replace my roof a few years ago. HIs quote came in on the lower side compared to others and they did a great job, including adding a couple of skylights. The roofers seemed to do a fine job on the actual work but the clean-up each day was not great. The amount of roof debris and old nails left behind is not exceptional. They did lay down tarps to collect the old roof scraps, nails etc. as they were torn up, but after the tarps were discarded of, it does not appear they did a walkthrough to pick up anything that may have been left behind (fallen outside of the boundaries of the tarp, fallen off the tarp etc.). Shards of metal and old nails surrounding the property and in the street aren't what I'd hoped for. read more
