We used Tilewerks to tile our spare bathroom shower/tub. Bob and Rafael did a fantastic job! The finish work was exceptional and the price was very fair. If your looking for a quality job and also working with courteous and professional company, I would highly recommend Tilewerks. read more

Bob did a great job removing my old cast iron under mount sink that was sandwiched between granite tile and plywood. I was told by other installers there's a likely hood the tiles will break during the removal process, which might mean having to replace the whole countertop. Thankfully Bob is very detailed and everything went smoothly. Price was fair, and I am happy with the results. read more

Bob is a life saver. He is prompt to call you back and easy to work with. He was able to redo my entire kitchen floor and it looks perfect. He is a true professional of his craft and we will always use Tilewerks for any of our future needs. I would highly recommend Bob and this company. His pricing seemed reasonable and worth every penny. In a time where a lot of businesses seem TOO busy and act they don't want to take on a "smaller project" Bob did and absolutely killed it. Now, we can get our rental unit back on the market. Thank you sir! Dallas M. read more

100% happy with Bob and his tile setter guy. I had been looking for kitchen backsplash for close to 2 years after doing my kitchen. Finally I just decided it had to get done. I did not know where to start. Found Tilewerks through Yelp and positive reviews. I called Bob, he came out the same day to evaluate the job. gave me some advice on the tile i was considering. had me to to Arizona tile and pick out a tile. Gave me a quote and appointment date. Came out and did the project in 1 1/2 days. Seamless, prompt, helpful, friendly, affordable. it turned out fantastic. I always seem to have issues but not this time. I would hire them again and recommend. Thanks so much for making my project easy. see attached photos. sorry my phone camera is not that good right now. read more

I can't say enough for the work that the Tilewerks team did for our kitchen. Bob, not only responded with lightning speed, he knew exactly what we needed for the best look in a backspash tile. The final result was a kitchen the quality and beauty of which greatly exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Tilewerks for your home or business upgrades. Bob, the owner was very responsive and flexible with his schedule as he had to adjust his schedule due to another job that we were having done on our house. Tilewerks did our fireplace and installed new tile on our front porch. We couldn't be happier with the quality of the work at a very reasonable price. The tile installer Javier also deserves 5 stars! read more

I needed to have our bathroom tile replaced and started out looking at Cole's. They didn't have the tile I was looking for and recommended Rayo in Santee. Rayo provided a list of installers and I decided to contact Bob at Tilewerks. I am so pleased with the service that we received. We are an older couple and Bob was so helpful in helping us select a tile. He even picked it up for us for a small fee. The installation was amazing. Bob was on time, knowledgeable, quick, and basically I felt comfortable. I am so please with the way my bathroom floor turned out. It is perfect. If you are looking to have tile installed, I highly recommend Tilewerks. read more

My recent experience with Bob and Tilewerks was excellent. The job included installing tile over an existing concrete patio. The quality of the work was great and Bob was easy to work with. Highly Recommend! We needed to have some travertine tiles replaced in a master bath after having the floor removed for plumbing repairs. I was lucky to get a referral from a friend whose contractor had used Tilewerks for her bathroom remodel. We contacted Bob at Tilewerks, he responded immediately, and he was able to give us an estimate based on photos, which I felt was a good estimate, and set us on his schedule right away. He even dropped by in advance to check the job out when he was in the area. He was extremely nice and professional! He arrived first thing in the morning as scheduled. His work was great! There was no mess to clean up on my end. And he was able to do some some minor repairs to other tiles on the floor and shower as well. I'd highly recommend Bob Urquhart of Tilewerks! And we will definitely use him again for any future repairs and possibly having a fireplace redone! read more

Bob & his crew are outstanding. He's very helpful with suggestions and recommendations throughout the project. They're very well respected among other tradesmen and it's clear why... Their work is exemplar, they're reasonable, on time and overall just darn nice guys. Highly recommend! read more

As a business owner myself I know how hard it is to get positive feedback even when you have happy clients so I'm taking the time to make this review for Tilewerks. I hired Bob and his crew to re-tile my bathrooms and fireplaces. Bob provided me with a fair and reasonable estimate and then proceeded to blow me away with his customer service. Bob paid attention to every detail on the job. His crew cleaned up the mess of construction every day, and the quality of work was phenomenal. His crew was courteous and talented and made my remodel into a pleasure instead of a pain. If you've hired contractors then you know it's hit or miss and a lot of times it's a miss. Not with Tilewerks. I'd hire Bob and his crew again any day! read more

Bob is wonderful. Expert installation, pleasant crew, professional attitude, reasonable prices, good communication. I have already recommended Tilewerks and plan on working with this company again. read more

It is with pleasure to write such a positive feedback for TileWerks. Bob took the time to meet with us to discuss options. His experience in the field yielded several viable options. As we worked these options, discussing pro's and con's of each we finally nailed our path forward. When they tell you the start time, be ready. Each event started and finished on time. Keeping to one's word is a valuable feature in today's industry. In addition to excellent work ethics, the job was professionally completed on time. Plus, it looked wonderful and exceeded our expectations. We do recommend TileWerks for anything large to small. Excellent communications, professional results, and a happy customer. read more

Bob is your guy for all your tile needs. He did an awesome job installing stackstone on our fireplace face and stone for our hearth. We had Bob and Frank redo our master bathroom shower by the recommendation of our handyman and we could not be happier. We have had horrible experiences with contractors in the past but this was not the case. Every day they were on time and cleaned the best they could before they left every evening. When I was looking for a tile person, I checked Yelp first. Tilewerks wasn't on here. Luckily, my neighbor referred me. I have learned to be wary of 5 star reviews due my encounters with a couple of such places. However, these guys were awesome! My tile job was not an easy one. I have a tight kitchen where he couldn't move around my appliances easily. Also, I live several floors up in a condo with a strict HOA that watches all of us closely. Contractors have to fill out forms, provide proof of insurance and a copy of their license. They also have to sign that they have read and understand the rules. The rules are kind of stated in a condescending manner. Bob was happy to take the job. His pricing was at or better than that of the two other people I called. He filled out the forms and got back to me with a quote in a very timely manner. After two weeks of work, I didn't hear a single complaint from the HOA and that is pretty much unheard of. Once they pulled up my carpet, it was clear that my floor was very uneven and would require extra work. Again, I am on the top floor with a strict HOA. Bob didn't complain at all but let me know it would take longer. I plan to attach before and after pictures if YELP lets me. I almost forgot... the floor is beautiful. I couldn't be happier with the results. Lastly, Bob is not a "yes man". If he sees potential issues with your requests, he will let you know and make suggestions. read more

We did a complete home remodel and addition over the last year. We encountered many different contractors during the process, and Bob from Tilewerks was absolutely, hands down, the best! He is very personable and easy to work with, has good suggestions for design, and the guys who do the install are great! Pricing was very reasonable and the job was done to perfection. Bob was one of the few contractors that was able to satisfy my husband's unreasonably high standards- let me tell you, THAT says it all. Bob did a complete tile job in our new bathroom (floor, shower, and glass on the walls), replaced the floor in an existing bathroom, and then came back 6 months later to put in a tile landing in our living room and tiled over the existing fireplace. All of the work was just beautiful and we get compliments on it all the time. In fact, other contractors who come over always ask me who did our tile- they know a good job when they see one. Get an estimate, you wont regret it! read more

If you and or anybody needs to have tile work you need to contact Bob at Tilewerks. He did our bathroom and we could not be any happier. Bob gave us a reasonable quote to repair a tile job in our bathroom that was done last year by a contractor who did it incorrectly. It caused a water leak and some damage to the wood. Bob repaired it and did other areas that were not holding up. He did not add any more charges to the bill. He stayed in touch with me on time as to when he would arrive and if he was going to be late he called to let me know. It was a small job and took about a day and a half. We appreciated his fast response as a lot of companies don't want to be bothered with a small job. We will definitely use him for any future tile work we may need. He also cleaned up everything after he was done. I only wish we would have found him when we had the bathroom remodeled as it would have saved us a lot of aggravation and money.Use him if you need any tile work done you won't be disappointed. read more

Bob and his team -- Rafael, Frank, Soto -- installed 1,100 square feet of wood-look porcelain planks in my home. The installation involved 2 different sizes of planks (1 of the planks is 48" long, the other much shorter) according to a fairly complex pattern. The results are fantastic! Team Tilewerks also tiled the master bath shower and backsplash using a combination of porcelain and Travertine materials that turned out really good. Given the amount of product needed for both projects, Bob was able to get me a price from the supplier that I could not otherwise touch. Among 4 competing bids, his price for labor was not the lowest nor the highest. Good cleanup, friendly, and great communication. Overall, Tilewerks' performance exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended! read more

We used this company to re-tile our master bath floor and add travertine tile to our dining room. The results were fantastic. We reviewed other bids for this job, and Tilewerks gave us a very reasonable bid in our opinion. There are photos of completed projects on facebook. We have only good things to say about the workmanship, prices, and final results and would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. read more

We called Tilewerks to help us out with a walk in tile shower for an elderly parent that is moving into our home this weekend. My Husband had begun the shower tile project and he has never installed tile before. Needless to say, we were in dire need of some professional help. Not only were we in a time crunch, there were numerous tiles that were not flush and out of whack. Not to worry, Bob came to our home the same day we called and assessed the situation and alleviated a great deal of worry and stress. Bob and his team to include Frank and Gabriel, fixed the tiles that were out of whack and then finished the project that was initially in pretty bad shape. I am grateful that Bob and his team were able to deliver a finished product and in the rush timing that we needed. Thank you Bob, Frank and Gabriel you all are lifesavers :-) read more

In Feb 2011, I found Bob at Tilewerks from using Service Magic now HomeAdvisor (Yelp was not as popular back then). You can see many positive reviews there but I wanted to support Yelp reviews. Out of 3 quotes Tilewerks was mid priced. Very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Bob came out and quoted a mosaic glass tile backsplash installation (I had purchased the tile and chickened out of doing it myself). Thank goodness - I was going to use the wrong grout and just buying all the tile supplies for a small job was crazy expensive! The installer Walter was very neat, on time, cleaned up, did not mind my unusually loud pets (not much room in a small condo). Bob came back later to seal the tile and also helped me with some other issues as well. Even though this project was small they treated me like I was having a complete remodel. Do yourself a favor and call Bob first before you buy or plan anything; he offers great advice and service. We will definitely use Tilewerks again in our new home, as soon as I pick out a backsplash! read more

My wife's friend Karen contracted Bob Urkhart to do some adobe tile work outside her house. It's gorgeous, to say in the least! Bob gave her the lowest estimate and responded to all her text messages and e-mail messages swiftly. Always very respectful and punctual. Bob has an excellent aesthetic eye and made wonderful recommendations about the placement of the tile (on a diagonal, etc.) on the front hardscape. Very patient with all Karen's million questions and concerns. Only thing is, Tilewerks doesn't supply the tile, so you do need to purchase the tile yourself, but that's similar to a lot of tile masons out there. Plus, Bob can send you links to awesome tile places you can explore. Their handiwork is beautiful, the prices are highly reasonable, and Bob is a VERY HONEST and RESPECTFUL professional. Recommend Bob and his team HIGHLY!!! read more
