My favorite coat was stained from putting it on the conveyer belt going thru security. Davis removed the closures and worked on getting the stain out. Then they sewed the closures back on. My coat looks as good as new. I'm so grateful. read more

Love this place! The lady that work there is super nice and helpful. They do a decent job washing/altering/ patching.

I have taken a few of my dresses and suits to dry cleaning here and they have always done a good job. The other day I spilled soup on my favorite black dress and I cajoled my husband to take it to them for cleaning. They were not sure if they could clean it completely but two days later, I picked my favorite LBD cleaned and saved! I was charged $10.50 for the dress which is their regular rate. I am not sure if they are the lowest priced dry cleaners in town but their prices are reasonable (Similar to Soapie's dry cleaning) and they definitely do a good job! Service is pretty friendly too. At the beginning of last spring, I took my worn winter coat in for cleaning. I left it in the wrapping until just this morning, and I noticed that they sewed new buttons on my coat!!!!!! It was missing 3-4 buttons down the middle as well as on the sleeve, and the remaining ones were coming loose - and they fixed everything even though I didn't ask! I don't think I was charged extra either because I remember the total was very comparable to other places I've gotten that coat cleaned. Also, I took a pretty heavily stained silk pillowcase (makeup stains.. don't judge ok) here and they definitely did their absolute best to get everything out even though it took them a bit longer (and prob a lot more work) than normal. The clean work is fine but no one informed me that my clothes were not ready for the pickup date and waste some unnecessary time.

If I could give no stars I would. I have sent my couture clothing to them for 15 years. For the past year it has been hit or miss. I have all LV, Chanel or Hermès clothes. Many of the items I have sent to them were being cleaned for the first time. Many of my lighter color clothing that I have cleaned at the end of the season and put in my closet for the next season would oxidize and turn yellow in areas. I have had at least 5 items that had drops of color fading ...... it looks like someone dropped some kind of solution on them. They tried to get some small spots off my husbands brand new dark blue LV pants and took the color right out of them. They then attach a note indicating that any further attempts at cleaning will result in permanent damage. Guess what, permanent damage already occurred! They charged me $75.00 to clean a top that they called a dress. The prices are outrageous! $25.00 for a mans shirt. They charged $40.00 to try a second time to try and mitigate their color loss. They call themselves experts! I haven't complained in 15 years, and when I did, Jordon was unbelievably rude! He acted like he doesn't even know who I am. He accused me and my husband of spilling perfume or alcohol on our clothes. Really! Don't go to them unless you want clothes to be ruined. They accept no responsibility for anything they do to your clothes. Oh they did offer to send my ruined clothes to a phony lab to find out what happened to them. Beware of a Cleaners that does not stand behind the service they give. I had a fragile-material brown skirt cleaned in November. It was great. I splashed olive oil on it shortly after that, took it in, and when I picked it up ( right before Christmas) there was a hole in the front of the skirt ( with some kind of adhesive or nail polish on the back to prevent it from tearing further) and splashes of green all down the front. The owner refused to take responsibility for the damage, although she admitted that she had not seen the hole when it went out to be cleaned. She said she'd seen the splashes of something on the skirt before cleaning, but had not called me to warn me. She refunded me the cost of dry-cleaning, but refused any compensation for the ruin of the skirt read more

BAD BUSINESS ALERT!!!! NO STARS IF I COULD I was a first time customer at Davis cleaners 2 days ago. i called around noon to check the hours for the day and was told their typically open 8am to 5pm. i arrived 330 to shine 2 shoes for a wedding. I told the gentleman i needed my shoes ASAP and i paid ahead. When i came back at 450 due to car trouble, the shop was closed. I cant put into words how upset i was. Knowing that he closed early, i had crazy false hope he would be open by a miracle on the 4th of July. obviously for me 820am i stared at my shoes on the counter from threw the window once again. Now Saturday the good part. the wedding is over and i still need to retrieve my shoes. i went to shop to kindly ask for my money back and try and figure out why he wasn't there. I was completely shut out. First words to me was, " I told you to be here at 430." Are you serious!!! Then he tried to lie and say he was there until 5. You liar!!! After having many negative experiences with dry cleaners in Chicago, I was hesitant but trusted her word.
