I bought and new, expensive black shirt and 2 black pants, for work, worth $750. I brought them there and asked them to clean and be sure not to let the colors fade. After one dry cleaning all 3 were faded and unusable. I spoke to 3 different people there, the owner, his wife, and one assistant, on 3 separate occasions, in order to solve the situation. They took no responsibility, shrugged it off, and acted as if it was my problem. I've decided to go elsewhere. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was my second chance for them. My first experience wasn't great because they didn't get my jacket ready by the time the said the would, so I had to make a second trip. No attempt to compensate for my inconvenience, just a half hearted apology. I just thought, "It's probably just a fluke, right? The place is filled with clothes." Wrong. I had them sew two patches on my vest, and asked for an estimate. The gentleman there said, "I don't know how much yet." -that should have been a red flag When I returned to pick it up, he charged me $25 for a job that should have been half that. I asked him why it was so much, and he tried to explain that it was a very complicated job. It wasn't. They were in perfect condition when I brought them in, but they destroyed one when I picked them up. The owner seems nice and answers the phone when you call. He seems like a nice and friendly person. If you want to clean anything else other than snap backs, maybe consider reading other reviews and then decide but do NOT bring your snap backs here to be dry washed. I brought here my Mark Jacobs cardigan for cleaning. It is a black cardigan, cashmere/wool blend, and it picked up some white particles (you know how black sweaters tend to, or anything dark) and I wanted it to be professionally cleaned. When my husband picked it up and brought home after the cleaning, the cardigan did not look any cleaner. All the white stuff (easily removable) was still on it. But all the mother-of-pearl buttons were chipped. The whole big chunks were missing on each button. I came back to the cleaners and told them that they broke the buttons, and that the cardigan was still not cleaned properly. They told me that they could do the cleaning again, but they would not buy the new buttons or even compensate their price. They even told me that this was their policy, and whenever they break something - buttons or buckles - they are not responsible for it. I ended up buying new buttons myself, spending some money and tons of time on that project. Overall, a frustrating experience. read more

As a working woman, I needed some pants to be repaired/hemmed/dry-cleaned, and this is the closest location to my house that offers all of those services. The man who works at the front of the house, if you will, was super friendly and nice! I dropped off 3 pairs of pants (1 for dry clean and hemming, 1 for hemming only (from a crapping hemming job I did myself a couple of years ago that wasn't holding up well), and 1 for repair to a ripped seam), and he was taking down my information- I was with my fiance, and we had a little joking repartee about whether or not we had the same last name. When we told him we were engaged and would eventually, he told my fiance that he was a "lucky man". I am as partial to compliments, so that got us off on the right foot immediately. I dropped off the items on Saturday afternoon, and they were ready on Wednesday. Chiberia 2014 prevented me from picking up the items until today (almost a week after they were ready), but that same sweet man was working, and he made venturing out into the dark, cold night worth it! The total for all that work? Only $33, which I consider a real bargain! The nice man even held the door for me as I was leaving! I'll definitely come back here. The prices are great, and the service is extremely friendly. For a neighborhood dry cleaner, this place rocks! read more

I am a regular at 507. My husband and I frequently have clothes to dry clean from blouses, slacks, dresses, and coats. I have taken in items that aren't the highest quality to my nice luxury brand items. Everything has been treated with great care and comes back in good quality. I have lived in Evanston for almost three years and have been coming here for the past two - the convenient location is an added bonus for us! But what makes 507 great is the very friendly husband and wife who owns the shop. My husband (fiance at the time) realized two days before we had to leave town for our wedding that he lost more weight than planned and his suit jacket was a bit big!! We panicked as we knew most tailoring jobs can take a week or two. I gave it a shot and called 507 to see if they could make an expedited exception for us. And did they deliver!!! We were so grateful that they took in his suit jacket and they also did an amazing job tailoring it to a better fit. I will definitely continue to support this business. read more

Absolutely the friendliest people, and best customer service. I started pickup by up my husband's cleaning when we were dating, then I became a customer myself. Then we had a baby, then another... they always greet us so warmly and give the kids treats. They see us coming and know all of our names. They carry my laundry out for us and have even had to do "curbside service" when my toddler falls asleep in the car. I'm not suggesting everyone do this! But, in a pickle, they go above and beyond.
